Anti Procrastination Wednesday PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

You know the routine. What's on your procrastination list in the back of your mind? The stuff you keep "meaning" to do, that somehow we just never seem to make time for? We all have those...

Today's the day to pull them out of the archives of your mind and Do!

Good morning! Thanks for opening us up, Twins!

I guess I need to be a little more assertive for anti-procrastination day. The things I've been putting off most require the help of the kids. Top of the list are making progress in getting DC signed up for road lessons, figuring out what to do about DD's (lack of) insurance, and getting the dining table and dining room cleaned up (mostly the kids' stuff, though DH does have a stack of board games in the corner).

I need to check on DC, who is supposed to be cleaning off the car so I can take them to school. DH said he got the windows cleared off, so that's the hard part, I think. We need to get the unsafe amount of snow off the top (need the broom for that!) and off the lights. We need to leave in about :40/:45, and DC will also need to eat, take meds, and gather things. If they're squared away, I can go down and start the wash.

I'm planning to celebrate Anti-Procrastination Day by doing a Round Robin through the house, something in most rooms. We had a night in which the heat kept up, but that's the first time in days. So now it's time to cast an eye around and get busy on those things that have started bothering me while we were preoccupied with space heaters and repair appts and bundling up!

Hi to KittyKatt - pilling a dog (or a cat) makes me feel like a meanie.
Hoping Twins' can reason with dMillie somehow. (smile - not easy)

Yesterday, HRH was suggesting we go out today on some errands. I'm not enthusiastic. The winding, hilly part of our rather countryish road can be an icy problem. Once, my dear farmer's market cousin (maybe 5 years younger than me) couldn't stop his truck headed downhill while I was sitting with ddolder, then a baby, in the cab of our truck. My uncle and my late dh were outside the truck, pondering how stuck it was. Well, dcousin unstuck us. Very efficient. And eye-opening. That was 45 years ago, but ice is still ice, shade is still shade.

I feel like I just don't have enough bandwidth for much besides this webinar this week. I can't think beyond listening - I think I'm stressing about sitting here and listening, it just feels incessant like a fire hose of info!

I did manage to make a deposit slip for the HOA checks I have - might try to go out at "lunch" (1:30 to 3 p.m.!) for deposit.

d cathy praying for your dh and his infection. The helpers are told not to take care of wounds bc they can get sued. I will say I have had caretakers who will help and other that wouldn't do it. The rule is that the traveling nurse has to do it and the family has to do the cleaning. I had trouble that they couldn't give d uncle morphine - liquid etc. - I took that to heart and didn't bring it in - we had pain meds but not enough- I was wrong - most helpers - if you set it up ahead of time will give the meds without telling their office. with d mom in law we had enough people to give her the liquid morphine.

Ask your nurse. - my uncle had a hospice nurse. The office for caretakers said no on wound care but we have had many helpers that wanted to help and took over the medical work.

really frustrates me but he is a lovely man so I have to ignore it. I keep trying though to get him to wear slippers inside - nope.

mom is still off and on
very cranky at me this morning but better now.

OMM: Check and see if I have a furnace filter to change that it's needed.
I go YEA! I put the ballot out in the mail for the school district change up on that.
Also a small pack of mini donuts like for lunches sealed for the carrier.
Woke up thinking of that and aprons!

More coffee; bfast happened.
I've sorted out coffee cups, stained ones can go.
I'd enjoy some new ones anyway.

Woke up sniffly on one side yesterday I felt great.

Got my a.m. steps in.
Started my new QT book.

Writer Wed.
Today's goal to get a note book set up with outline & characters & scenes / chapter info.
From the 17 or so chapters I've already written.

Also Anti P: task clean under sinks and furnace filter might be one per day.

Waving to all!
Update Mail carrier took the treats!

I'm back! Did not get wash started before dropping DC; got their breakfast set up while they were finishing with the car, and they came in, quickly ate, and wanted to go straightaway rather than unbundling and rebundling. Roads were pretty good, although the plowing at the college left something to be desired -- the inbound lanes were great, but the snow was piled up next to the outbound lanes such that they were pretty narrow. Couldn't find what I liked on the radio, so I tuned to the oooooldies station (plays stuff that was oldies when we were young -- and stuff older than that, going back to the 1920s). They played a set of "Fever," "I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm," and "Too Darn Hot" to counteract the cold. :D Was able to finally get my meds from the post office; the carrier told me yesterday where he had put them, so I was able to tell the clerk where to look (a bin specifically for items that needed a signature).

Not the way I'd prefer to be unstuck, I don't think, Harriet. I could see where you might be leery about heading out.

Is the webinar all day, all week, Twins? And is it all essentially one class, or are there different options/topics covered? Either way, it sounds pretty intense.

blessed, it's the medical insurance she's just aged out of. I wish it were as simple as car insurance -- or even if we could make the payments from our HSA, which has built up. But the HSA is tied to the health plan and can't be used for someone who's not on the health plan. :x

How kind of you, Nancy, to put out a treat for the carrier!

Webinar is all week, Mystery. This is the one that used to be in Salt Lake City and one could do research at the Family History Library there. Since COVID they've been online. It's basically five hours of instruction (four 1.25 hr segments) between ten a.m. and six p.m. for me. On Mtn Time, it's between 8 and 4, of course.

I was undecided until last month about taking a course. When I renew my credential I need to report my "development activities" so this counts for that. Judges like to see you're still learning, lol. It feels like a firehose of info honestly. When one is away from home, there's an element of adrenaline. When I am trying to juggle things at home too, it feels like too much sometimes. OTOH, I've tried the courses that go for one day a week for five weeks, and it's like having five short weeks in a row...
