Morning all. I wish I was gardening already. The snow is practically gone except for the corners. Water is running. Just cold yet. Maybe next weekend I can get some more soil for the flower bed and take this greenhouse out of the garden. I was going to get rid of it but maybe I should experiment and put it in full sun. See if it gets warm. White tarp plastic is not the answer.

Anyway I have got to get moving. Busy day. Music prep today. Plus there's a funeral at church. I need to make brownies. Ice them. Bring to church around 11. Go set up the tech computer. It's at 100. Need a few things from the store. I think I will come home after and regroup. I'm on piano tomorrow need to learn a couple new songs yet. Practice my festival stuff. And find some time for my son and my dog lol.

Your kids are all grown up trissie. 2 13yr olds at once must be something..

Yup pruner or snips here too. I've heard secateurs.. even though French is our second language. Should actually be German in our corner of Canada.. at least for what is here.

Oohh are you going to see baby I helian? Along with work trip? How old is baby I now? My ds sent a picture of my now 13 month old Lil j. Standing on the deck outside in the sun with the hugest smile 😃. Goodness no baby anymore. Gotta start over again with dd due in fall. I am so grateful for the joys of baby.

Ooh some off work days frenchie. Enjoy.

Kittykat it sounds like your garden is thriving and getting full swing growth again.

Start with

S&s both baths and reboot laundry Tidy laundry room and master bedroom
Shower

Empty and reload dw
Finish tidying kitchen
Mix brownies and bake

Good morning /good afternoon, FFB, KitKat, Helia, Trissie and Laura!

FFB -that's very interesting about the French word for secateurs being the same! I hope you get some time to enjoy your garden as well as all the "must dos".

KitKat, it's very interesting the way we have different words for the same tools (that's why I try and include a link to a picture! )

Enjoy your free day, Helia! How nice to see a muskrat on your jog. (I'm familiar with them thanks to the Laura Ingalls Wilder books -I think they were mentioned in "The Long Winter" as they had built the walls of their house very thick that year and that was supposed to signify a very cold winter.)

Trissie, three teens in the house sounds ... interesting! But "real jewellery" sounds like a perfect present. :D Gardening scissors are indeed a thing, but they look like a normal pair of scissors, although usually a bit more robust and more brightly coloured (for easy retrieval when dropped on the soil!). I would use garden scissors for things like cutting string and opening bags of compost, and possibly cutting flowers .

Laura, if you move the greenhouse to a spot in the sun then I think more things would thrive. You can always get some shading to paint on the glass if things get too hot! :D

I had a nice coffee with C, and helped her with the little bit of shopping she needed at the shop. She is a very strong minded elderly lady though, with very decided views on many topics, and I was exhausted by the time I had finally walked with her back to her house!

Today is chilly, windy and showery. But it's considerably warmer round the back of the house, so I'm going to water on the nematodes this afternoon in between showers.

☀️Good morning!
I apologize for not cuops yet, just skimmed, I’m sending love and prayers and mojo to anyone in need. I do see kittykat’s bite is still healing, did germane hurt a paw?, kitkat is on the mend, trissies girls are entering a new era and I hope mom is ready for it, LAnn is lining up her books to be read, helia is enjoying socializing, Dogged watched the shuttle land (amazing), French is healing, gma has been lurking, Laura is planning gardening, everyone’s bird feeders are supplying the worlds birds…

Friday was hectic, haircuts (dh looks like a totally different man), I ordered a new phone and got a new range, we got our passport pw finally, found a place online that takes hearing aids and prepares them for new users so mailed moms to them, lots of driving around, dd1 got home late last night and was up at dawn for a breakfast date with her new boyfriend and they’re out for the day so we haven’t seen her yet. I was up multiple times so haven’t gotten much sleep, idk why I can’t sleep a full 6-8 hours lately, I can’t find our taxes from last year so that’s probably what bugged me last night. Our appointment is Monday. Today’s plan is drop some furniture off at Hollywood then I will start going through paper piles and finding some order amid the chaos. Apparently I have multiple “safe places” in different rooms and cabinets where I put things. Someone mentioned muskrat. I’m a pack rat. I did find 2024 taxes that I couldn’t find but needed last April. It appears the dates go back to 2023 when time stood still and nothing got done. I don’t even know how to organize this mess but I’ll give it a shot when I get home. Send good vibes, some clue as to where my taxes from last year are, and anything else you can think of.
Have a wonderful day!
♥ Wake each day expecting good things to happen! ♥

Thank you for starting us off, Kittykatt. Enjoy your coffee outing. :)

The dkids must love the two-week break, FrenchFly. We get one week for March break, but then the longer summer break.

Woo hoo on an event-free day, helia.
I wonder how much the difference in attitude between the young people of today and our generation is that we actually had something to work toward. Even those of us who started out poor could afford a small apartment or at least our own space in a rooming house, so we controlled our own space and had to stand on our own feet. And it was realistic for us to work toward being able to buy a house and/or start a family, both of which require adulting. But if everything feels like an impossible goal, then why grind yourself down trying to reach it?

Happy birthday to trissie's dtwins!

I am at the end of page 1, so will get up for a little.

Happy Birthday 🎂 L.Ann
Is there a recipe for loaded Greek Feta fries, or do you just make it up?

Happy Birthday 🎂🥳 to the twins.

Hello 👋 all. I’m going to try this again 🤞

Laurlind, so exciting to be a grandma! I am happy that my garden is still white! I enjoy the produce but not the work. :D

Doggedly, I have to say my first space of my “own” was a basement suite that I shared with two others. The furnace was in the living room, there was a sink with a homemade wooden cupboard that had a curtain on the front. It was pretty rough, but let me get through my first year of Uni debt free. Had a few places like that over the years to save money.

I am back to having so many things to do that I am just stuck. This is how FLYlady originally helped me. She told me to shine my sink, she told me I could do anything for 15 minutes. So, I’ll start in the kitchen for 15 minutes.

To Do. Must do these
Kitchen session 15 min. at least
Taxes organized (need Hubby not to notice me starting this 🤭)
Go for a walk.
Start memory book DGS gave me for Christmas - gather some rough ideas

Tada!
So far I’ve slept enough to not feel exhausted, even though I napped in the evening!
played with the stray kitty
Earned some pennies on Swagbucks (not great use of time  )
Sorted a couple of papers
Put a couple of things away
Deleted a few emails
Got some stuff out of the car that I was too tired to do yesterday.
Checked my calendar for working dates this month, updated entries. Not done.
