Re: What I Ate
I know you wondered what happened to me -- I didn't give up -- here's Saturday & Sunday:
(My estimate of starches in parentheses)
Saturday
11:00 a.m.
1/2 Egg McMuffin (1 starch?) - 1 starch
cinnamelts (3.5?)- 4.5 starch & 3.5 fat
PB crackers (1.5)
Banana
3:00 p.m.
apple
granola bar (2)
7:30 p.m. (wedding supper)
grilled chicken breast
green beans
1/2 baked potato w/little bit of cheese & bacon bits (no butter, etc.) (1)
1 dinner roll (1)
1/2 piece of dessert cake, sorta a bread-y cake, I think (1) - 1.5 starch
1 piece wedding cake (2) - 4 starch
1 chocolate football (?) - .5 starch
2 glasses sweet tea (?) - 4 starch
Sunday -- I know you said I should just scratch Sunday from the calendar, but I didn't eat much. I think I've got some kind of stomach bug.
9:00 a.m.
PB crackers (1.5)
banana
Noon
very small bowl soup -- Campbell's Cajun Rice? Gumbo? It has sausage & chicken in it. (1?)
10 Captain's Wafer crackers (2?)
1 slice cheese
1 bowl (dry) mini wheats (2) - 3 starch
5:00 p.m.
6 Triscuits (1)
8:00 (at movie)
Nachos w/chilli & cheese -- ate about half the movie serving, standard plastic holder size (1) - 2 starch & 4 fat
I did NOT eat anything when dh stopped at Krystal after the movie... I did NOT eat the candy I wanted at the movie... I'm trying to be good.

Re: What I Ate
lucylee have you given thought to your McDonald's breakfasts?
Did you know the apple pie is better for you than the cinnamon melts?

Re: What I Ate
I know, I know, Indiana...
I know... but I don't like apple pie... and it's just once a week...
BUT... I have considered buying the pecan twirls -- Little Debbie brand or something similar? Those are probably lower calorie than McD cinnamelts. I know... but I LOVE cinnamon rolls.
The mini wheats are GONE!!!

Re: What I Ate
Hmmm lucylee you are better off with 2 egg mcmuffins. Each one is 2 starch, 1 protein, and 2 fat. The cinnamon melts are 4.5 starch and 3.5 fat.
Go here to find some substitutes for cinnamon melts:
http://tracker.diabetes.org/explore/2050/
What about a mcD strawberry sundae or their cookies or a kiddie cone. They are better for you.
Little Debbies are 2 starch and 2 fat.
Or another option if you have to have them once a week what are you giving up on Sunday stay with in 10 starch and to make up the 4.5 starch and 3.5 fat.

Sorry lucylee I don't think today is a smart day for me to make comments. I won't delete them because last time you saw it before I deleted.
I'll do your #s for Saturday and Sunday.
I like the idea the OKay and you started - to list what you skipped.

Re: What I Ate
I understand, Indiana... the cinnamelts are the worst of ALL the cinnamon treats at local fast food hamburger places. I don't know why dh is stuck on McD's...
I might start getting the Little Debbie's ahead of time if I know he is going there on Sat. mornings. Of course, can't buy them too much ahead of time -- I'd start eating them everyday like the mini wheats!
Tomorrow is another day.
