What a work commitment, BookSaver! I know you are happy you gave that time, and really, it's a memorable, practical gift. You're right to make a mental note, though, that bridal work is something you want to leave to others. I hemmed (by a couple inches) my own gown when I was getting ready to marry HRH, and it was only one layer that needed sewing, but a lot of mileage around that hem!

Found some more blue blossoms to press here.

My LR and DR are full of large paintings right now, leaning against various furniture now that dd has completed her summer painting course. Several are 4 or 5 feet in height. Dd is re-arranging her room for most of them. HRH has a favorite and so do I, but whether we would actually display them I don't know. Thankfully her other summer course that starts tomorrow will be academic work.
