I love that you are walking in your home when you can’t outside your home. I do the same but it takes me more laps than you. Runkitty must be smiling somewhere cause she was my inspiration to do the same.

RR - Thanks! I too miss RunKitty and her wise ways.
I made my health a priority yesterday.
** Walked morning mile
** Did 13 of 14 hourly minimum step goals
** Cronometer used and selected food to meet my micronutrients goals.
Day #1 accomplished.

I'll admit to house-walking in the evening when I need another, say, thousand steps and I'm motivated!
Today I need about 7K to get to the weekly goal of 56K.
WTG LadyM!

Circle Walking ~
Saw a yt of that and have done it inside on the deck and in the yard.
By doing 3 in the yard to look at flowers I can add 750 steps.
When I walk around the basement I walk one extra time adding in the walk around the gazelle.
-----
Today I'm watering more bc of the heat in our forecast so that I's a few more.
Yesterday going up and down the stairs multiple extra times added to my health and got step counts.
It helped my heart and lungs I can tell an improvement.
Sewing machine is in the basement too so that is OMM for the heat wave next week.
[I was binge watching a series & doing t o t h 10 min. task rounds. ]
-----
Sat. got 9,189 steps should have looked and could have gotten in that others dang it!
I am feeling better this week.
Got the 10K plus steps in Sunday plus enough to make up the ones I missed last nite,

Although I didn't do it until the holiday, I did get my circular monthly healthy habits chart ready. I had enough memory in my own head plus notes in my planner to recreate the menus of the first three days.

"Hack Your Health"
I finally watched "Hack Your Health" on Net flix. Truthfully, it is not as interesting to me as other documentaries on healthy eating, so my first instincts about my own enjoyment were mostly right. The "cover" image is of a colon, so it doesn't exactly entice you to watch, IMO. Nobody really says, "Oh, what a cute colon picture", do they?
There is some value, though. It's about trying to help those who have severely compromised digestive health and seeing what that can teach the rest of us. It follows 4 people with completely different sickness/problems, from inability to digest more than about 6 foods, to harm from deliberate long-term massive eating for competition.
They do learn a lot about the microbiome, how microbiomes can now be scientifically illustrated for a group of people, watching each person to see if that individual can improve. It looks like a map with a lot of dots, and you can watch as that one person-dot improves
moving to a healthier area on the "map".
One big take-away was to try to get at least 20 different plant foods into the diet every week so that the bacteria in our gut can replenish and change for the better. That seemed very reasonable to me.
One of the 4, who is actually a chef, heard about a smoothie that had the most ingredients ever. (I put a lot in mine, so I perked up to listen, but this recipe went way past me.) She did make it on-camera - 60 ingredients - and drank a reasonable serving of it without much complaint. But I immediately thought, there is no reason to cram that many foods into one meal when you have every intention of eating several meals that day. Take the Brussels sprouts out, for instance ( as a chef, she said that would make the smoothie taste better right there) and have them at another meal later. Our bodies don't expect everything at once, and will use the amino acids from one meal to combine with previous ones, for instance. When she put the potatoes in, I thought, what a waste - putting the potatoes on a plate for later would help both the smoothie and the plated meal!
Anyway, worth watching, although the very practical nuts and bolts of fecal transplants might be something to fast-forward through.

Today I started a new diet bet and when I win I will be the lowest weight I’ve been in 4 years! I am really excited about that…and
When that happens I have something special on Amazon to celebrate my win

Re: Health and Fitness July, 2024
I am so enjoying reading the H&F check-ins and chats.
I did my best yesterday to make healthy decisions.
I had a tough night last night with hunger. I was mentally wired from having people at our home all evening, I was overly tired which played a part but mostly I was just hungry which kept me from dropping off to sleep. I am reducing my calories, and my body knows it. I got out of bed and tried to think of something that would make the hunger go away but not ruin my all-day effort that I put into making good decisions. I decided to drink water and eat a tomato. Then i made myself leave the kitchen and wait 20 minutes hoping for the hungries to pass. Nope. So I got an apple and ate it. Then I was able to easily fall asleep and I slept well.
Day #2 was a struggle, but I am counting it as a success because I didn't give up trying to make the best decisions that I could.

Re: Health and Fitness July, 2024
LadyM….
Here’s a recipe for a dessert that is really helping me
One box sugar free jello … I use black Cherry
I cup hot water
1 cup of Chobani Zero sugar yogurt … I use vanilla
1 scoop protein powder..I use vanilla
Make jello with the hot water. Stir in the yogurt and protein powder. Put it in the coldest part of your refrigerator. Let it set. Takes about 4 hrs
I use my whipping stick to mix it all together. This really helps to curb my appetite. Sometimes I just dip a spoon into the container that I made it with and take a bite or two. Other times I eat a cup at a time.
You can use the recipe with any flavors, but I’ve only used the black Cherry and vanilla yogurt. Makes about a 4 cup serving and it’s yummie. Long time ago I made this same combo but I used cool whip but I like this even better
