This week had to lengthen stitch length again. Glad I found that setting that is what happens when it's been a long time since you last used it!
I have a shirt to wash and cut tails off and re-hem.
Working on a two new sets of hot pads and dish cloths one in yellows and one in rainbow colors such fun to have new ones.
I have cut up green and tan fabrics into strips.
Got blue shades to work with next.

 So pleased to find pre filled bobbins and some other sewing notions my pins were no longer sharp!
My needle threaded was broken, and my hem marker was bent it reminded me of gathering things for my sewing box
in home ec. class in high school.

Fabric Fails ~
I have returned some.
Others when I made curtains and realized they were too short I made pillow cases out of them.
Other table cloths for the deck that would not stay on I am going to cut in to strips of fabric
for future project TBA.

One piece I got luved the print but was too thin for the project I had in mind for it.

What are you fabric fails?

I have some "fabric fails" heavier fabric assortment of large squares I bought that is really home decorating fabric, like curtain weight, and too polyester-y for most things I can think to do with it. It was a bargain and the prints were pretty. Sigh. Kind of shiny. Maybe for little Christmas items, since the dark ones look old-time Christmas in a way. Like I need another project in my line-up, lol.

Nancy, you are having fun and getting plenty done - great job.
I had forgotten gathering items for sewing in Home Ec in high school. Maybe that's where some of my sewing notions that I can't quite place had come from - I have some I don't think I inherited, but they're old.

With a little extra muscle from dd26, the fall-colored quilt is hanging now. There was no use to put a sleeve on the back, realizing it didn't fit the rod anyway. But a series of safety pins worked fine, with the top folded over so that the first sashing is at the top. We just folded under the sides by a few inches each and you hardly notice that it isn't hung as you would expect.

When HRH's brother came by today, we had just gotten it up, and he said, "oh, by the way" and gave me such kind compliments on the wedding quilt. He hadn't been able to talk to me too much at the wedding. He says he took a photo and it didn't dawn on me when he said it, but I would love to have a copy. Maybe I'll ask HRH to ask him to send it.

I checked and they will have a dozen food baskets for turkey day for families.
I wanted to do up hot pad and dish cloth sets for them but I only have ten sets done.
Two more under construction so I am keeping my fingers crossed I'll complete them in time.

I have half of a knit dish cloth to do. Knitting does not bother my shoulder as much as crocheting does.

Hope you can manage that, Nancy, but don't worry if you can't - you do a lot.

Dd26 is going to remind me how to crochet this coming weekend. She will bring yarn and hooks. I have an afghan here that I made ages ago, actually, but it was just single crochet for the whole thing. Also, I once did double crochet and made pillows - those are long gone.

I will enjoy seeing her growth in this type of creativity - she makes all kinds of things.
