Thank you, Cathy. I have it mostly written out on paper and will probably use a window for a "lightbox" to get it onto fabric. Hoping my hands will stay steady while I get that done! Won't start until I have all the supplies here, at least.
Worked yesterday on the quilt top parts that are on the design board right now. This is that medium-size project with 6 of 9 blocks done. Yesterday's task was lots of measuring and care, because I had to get one last center unit to fit in right. Thought I'd never find just one more plaid/check for the very center fabric for the last one, either, but I did, going through my scraps. The sizes all match up now, so the rest of assembling these last 3 blocks is much more straightforward.
Cathy, I was amazed to think that time of Elvis' death was 48 years back, but you are quite right. I believe I had just started patchwork for quiltmaking at that time and was still pretty awkward at it. I started in response to my two grandmother's deaths, within a month of each other in autumn '76, wanting to remember their favorite creativity.
