Echoing all the birthday wished for Nancy today!

We're back, wills and lots of other documents signed. I need them scan them to save digitally as well.

Meeting here in 20 min or so, I'm organizing some papers now...

I went to a grocery store for the first time in so long, so errands off my 5 x 5. Got genuinely tired walking those aisles - ugh, concrete floors, also big parking lot in the heat. But we got all that done. Back home, remembered the spinach. Sigh. But everything else was found.

Another thing off my 5 x 5 was that I had tried to call dboycousin to ask if there was anything we could pick up for him. He called back well after we were gone. So, I called him after putting groceries away and we had a good chat, lots of laughter. He is pretty much in waiting mode following his many tests and treatments.

Only a little decluttering done. Need to get back to that.
Mopping is still to do
ordering is still to do

Ramblin's house smells so good!

Ouch, sorry about the headache all day, blessed.

hello - I put a no trespassing beware of dogs signs in the back - our neighbor behind us and our neighbor on our sides agreed it would be a good idea. We have had the kids - especially a very cheeky young boy - walking through the back walking through the flowers and hanging from our apple trees - normally it doesn't bother me but we have dogs. the kids are also walking across our back neighbors yard even though there is a side walk - the parents walk through his yard all the time and he doesn't like it.

Problem for us is that we have three dogs on a wire - all we need is a race with a child and a nip - I don't think it would happen but I do worry. our street has a sidewalk that is one house over by the kids that walk through that leads to all the different neighborhoods, including ours, without going through the yards.
My neighbors do not want us to have a large fence bc it would take away all the beauty from all our yards together. it looks like a long golf fairway.

hopefully the kids will see it. I wonder if I should tell the parents that it is there. I would think so but you never know how they will react. \\
it is always a joy to be here with you!

Done with the meetings and walked ddog around the block once. I feel exhausted and haven't done anything that was on a list except for a.m. routine. I'm just sitting here.

Good evening!

Happy Birthday, Nancy!

Besides taking kids to school and work, I've had one excursion today and have another coming. I went to the library and returned last month's book club book and picked up this month's. And a notary friend has brought her seal home from work today so that a couple of us can get documents notarized -- including DD's unclaimed funds paperwork. I went online to see what address we needed to mail things to or if we could upload things, and I discovered that they have a new system in place since we last printed out form, and not only can we upload things, they would prefer it. So I spent a chunk of the afternoon scanning things that I had previously photocopied. I hope everything goes well. They want proof of address, and our address doesn't match what the bank had in its records -- which is how the funds ended up unclaimed in the first place. They sent the account closure notice to the wrong address. Well, that, and they wouldn't recognize my brother's POA because it didn't mention that account specifically, or DD would have gotten the funds as soon as she turned 21. If it weren't so much trouble to change banks, I think I would. As it is, I'm glad DD has her account elsewhere, so that when she does finally get the money, our bank doesn't get hold of it again! Anyhow, once DD gets her form notarized this evening, I can scan that, too, and we can upload the whole kit and caboodle.

Of course, this has meant that I haven't done anything about laundry or a grocery list, both of which are among my to-dos today.

I needed the Tuesday reminder when planning dinner, Twins -- DD pointed out that DH's Scout meeting is tomorrow, so that's when I need to put together a crockpot.

Sorry about your headache, blessed -- not the way you want to spend a holiday! Glad you're feeling better. I would be so frustrated at the trespassing -- I hope your signs work!

So glad to see Harriet expanding her horizons!

DD is home, so it's time to get to those forms! Have a good evening!

I was appalled yesterday when dh reminded me today would be Tuesday and we had this appointment re: wills and stuff, and then the meeting re: temple finances. Now I need to meet with temple prez and bookkeeper to get some answers, and I think I mentioned I'm attending the 10/25 finance committee meeting.

I've been attempting to find or rig up a riser for the large outdoor pots on either side of our front door. I need to repot a fern which I'm hoping to keep alive and thriving until we have a hard frost, also need to plant a potted plant I got to replace some that expired on the porch.

I have chicken breasts to grill for myself tonight - and there will be leftovers. I don't think it's reasonable to eat leftover burgers and dogs until we leave on Saturday. Need to fire up the grill and get that going.

Tomorrow I have body work, and I'm hoping to meet a buyer for for Silhouette Cameo die cutting machine. Not selling it for much - I saw some online that were listed for less and still sitting, but I do have a mat new in package, some starter vinyl (if it's still good) an instruction booklet and CD. I just never spent the time to learn now to use it. Consider it part of decluttering if it sells.

I'm taking my to do list and prioritizing what needs to be done before we leave on Saturday. Then what needs to be done before Rosh Hashanah.

Mystery, glad I could help you out on the day of the week. I'll be off this entire week probably. Good job on getting the unclaimed funds forms taken care of, those forms are a pain, aren't they?

bw2, they shouldn't be cutting through your backyard! Your dogs don't need to be surprised or startled by someone walking where they shouldn't. How is your dmom today after the outings this weekend?

So glad dear Harriet that you're expanding your world! and WTG on the 5 x 5 today. It's lovely to see you feeling well again, perhaps you're not feeling it but we "hear" such an improvement through your posts.

LadyM also had a meeting today, hoping it went well for dd. She's making strides, do her teachers see it?

RR, wtg - back at the gym! Glad that you've recovered from the sinus surgery and issues. You must be feeling well to be baking cooking and entertaining!

Waving at Cathy from this a.m. and at Lucylee, who will come through later.

Since it's Tuesday, haha, I finally checked bank accounts (mine, HOA, cemetery) and credit cards that I pay (two). So that's done. And so is chicken.

Mystery, I like the word "excursion". I think I'll adopt that. It sounds so much more like having an interesting trek out from a cruise ship or something, rather than a utility errand 'round to keep the household moving from point A to point B, lol. Of course, one of yours was about books :) , so that's interesting in the first place, no matter what it's called.

Twins', I wasn't here to read you were just sitting, lol. I could pick your brain about village thoughts sometime.

Hearing me - dcousin said my voice is stronger and not the squeaky Minnie Mouse I used to laugh about. It does sometimes take a person who only hears or sees you once in a while to notice change.

Mopping accomplished. Then stewed potatoes were the backbone of a nice veggie supper. Recyclables and trash properly awaiting the trucks.

So, what did I not spend enough time on? The sewing room of course, which would be more FUN, theoretically. I don't know why I don't do the fun stuff first. Some psychologist could diagnose me on that, I imagine. Perhaps each individual chore is simple, with a clear stopping place, a closer light at the end of the tunnel. But getting the room fully ready for sewing projects that are large-ish will be a longer, less structured time frame, and lots of decisions rather than being free of doubts.

Nancy, I hope your day was pleasant and content!

Well drat. I was just into a long post, and lost it!

Thanks for getting us started on the right day, Twins. It does seem weird when there's some sort of celebration on Mondays.

I actually overslept this morning and had to rush to get dmom, but she had a good visit with the doctor and got her back brace. She says she can manage it on her own. Fortunately, the lady at the medical supply place ordered a different style (In addition to the one the doctor requested) and it did seem to work better. With the rain, she decided against the trip to look at electric lawnmowers... sigh. I just don't see how that's going to work.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to NANCY!!!

We're kinda having that "false fall," too... Temps in the mid-80s, but the high Friday is predicted to be 94.

I need to do some prioritizing to-do's also, Twins, but as I told dmom today, I don't need the $24 checklist; I have a checklist that WOULD work, if I could get myself to apply the BGS and get busy. I just have no motivation and no energy.

How long does this grief exhaustion LAST??? It will soon 17 months since dh passed, and I just don't want to DO anything.

CAN y'all believe I just lost half of THIS post???

I'm going to call it a day. I have an early morning again -- will put this in J&C.
Tomorrow is another day.
