Re: Focused Friday PWYC
And after I talked about dh, I found that he had taken the comforter to cleaners for me. I looked for it and couldn't find it. Thanked him sincerely for his "help." (In theory, household talks should be shared, they're not all my responsibility. So thanking him for "help" implies that he's only helping me with my duties, not doing a household task that should rightfully be shared. I know, I know. I can't see it that way because he believes he should be thanked for whatever he does....)
Mystery, I don't think I could do it. I didn't have the calendaring on my plan for today but when he texted saying he had invited someone for dinner I felt a little overwhelmed, not quite remembering when we were having houseguests and when we had other things.
I must go downstairs and walk the dog (seventy-six degrees out with a little breeze). That's another task we should share but you know how that goes...

I ended up spending some time organizing my crafty stuff. I'm putting here because I don't know if I have the bandwidth to remember to take it to Arts, etc. I get two yards, or four yards, or some amount of ribbon, not a whole roll of ten or more yards when I buy a "ribbon share." The organizer buys all the ribbon, cuts it to lengths and coils, and mails in plastic bags. I have so many I can't see what I have now. I'm winding them on spindles and putting in empty inexpensive spice jars and displaying on shelves. I also alphabetized by older wood stamps and have them on a shelf of the bookcase that I moved this summer. I added some of the clear acrylic shelf dividers to help support them because they're stacked on ends and I can read the title like I'd read a book.Twins, you might think about scheduling some nothing days on your calendar. (Easier said than done, I know. I’ve tried in the past when we were so crazy busy with the kids.)

Re: Focused Friday PWYC
Boy, that hit home. I have been getting to sleep even later (earlier in the a.m.?) recently and I have got to change this crazy way of doing things.Get an extra hour of sleep. Stop trying to do so many things at once. Go for a walk or get a little exercise. Take a breath and actually think for a minute.
And today has not been extremely focused, although I did get a load of clothes washed and hung to dry.
I got caught in a rabbit hole after ddil said our local news reporter wants to do a write-up about dgs/ds being the first four generation family of football players at our high school. It is really hard for me to believe it hasn't happened earlier... but this guy was the football historian before ds took on that role, and neither of them can think of anyone else. Several three generation families.
Anyway... it makes me nervous to think he may be mistaken and someone will be offended, but of course it's not OUR fault he has made this claim.
I'm waiting on dgd to get back from trip out with the pastor and pastor's grandson. (He lives out of town and spends frequent weekends with his grandmother, but has few playmates in our town. He and dgd are very good friends.) As soon as she gets here, we will be going to the ballgame.
Tomorrow is another day.

Re: Focused Friday PWYC
HRH asked me to go out with him this morning and I thought I knew where we were going, but he headed another direction. It finally dawned on me he was heading for the Goodwill in a different town. I fussed just a bit about keeping it a secret from me because again we didn't have the chance to take donations. But he said he wanted to give those to our own town's GW anyway, and, after all, it was a really nice surprise, so I wasn't truly disappointed!
I found 3 more items for my trimmed-cardigan craft project. So, I was happy, although it's a shame men find so little to shop at GW or other charity shops. HRH honestly had the goal of finding something and supporting, too, but he ended up in the car to wait on me. He says the days of finding anything tech are over, for instance. Another woman there chatted with me and said her dh does the same thing - just listens to the car radio.
Lunch out was pleasant. He is trying to find short trips we can do. There's a new restaurant coming in a funny old building, a vintage place to go to the movies, etc. Can't go too far afield yet but branching out. We both have culture shock driving around and seeing all the depressing change in the landscapes.
I groomed the houseplants for the first time in so long after this watering and feeding - they look so much better. All switched around in their sunbeam places and turned.
Does anyone have an opinion on those free-standing "pebble" ice maker small appliances? HRH got an email about a really good sale and he's considering one. He loves that type of "chewable" ice, but we are wondering if it's worth taking up the counter space.
Oh, Nancy! Spilled hot coffee is a pain!
Hoping blessed enjoys the party.
The fellow who did the quilt show video was commenting that he'd rather do that chore than "man" booths, because for an introvert like him, social situations result in tiredness. I was saying "tell me about it".
Mystery, all my life I've noticed that "things coming to the mailbox" brighten up our days with anticipation, lol. Glad your DD felt brightened.

Re: Focused Friday PWYC
The coffee spilled on a hot pads and lead me to discovering that it was not color fast ,
but still inspiring and can be helpful that way, it does not have a loop to hang up I usually try
to add those to mine when I make them, it's like a small quilt block.
Did up the dishes mopped up the spilled area a couple of times.
Next up I"LL be looking at the humming birds of Costa Rica book my fav. yd.
sale find of the day was only $1.00.
Had a wrap from the storew with chopped tom, guac. and was tasty with mini pumpkin pie
bs had crashed.
Learned after getting groceries today that this Sun. at the church is pot luck soup and other comfort food.
I was bummed to learn of this after shopping instead of before and with only two days notice dang ack not
time to plan and I already have a previous commitment I made a month ago. Cannot figure out why they
have not learned the art of calendar-ing at that church sheesh!
