Hi, L.Ann. I see that you are back to full activities. That is good.
Grey weather seems to be the theme today. There is a dusting of snow on the trees and the sky is completely solid grey. In winter, that means a warm day. But in November, we are not grateful for -5 C. Not astonished, but not grateful either. Offer it to us in January and we will celebrate.
helia, your description of your class brought back happy memories of German class in CEGEP (our pre-university college). Outside of class work, we made a ridiculous translation of Here We Go A Wassailing, and ran an election campaign for noun cases. I supported Nominative (Vote Nominative: Nominatives get things done!) Another fellow favoured Datives. He would say Datives are indirect. And try to look mysterious. This all came to an end when a classmate asked the teacher who she would vote for and she answered "Genitive, because they own EVERYTHING!" Nobody could top that, LOL.
I hope that the car-sharing goes smoothly. If not, there's always Uber.
Smile*Lee, that is wise to bring the samples and look at them in context where they would be installed. Years ago, when I had the house, I brought samples home and taped them to the walls, and just lived with them for a while to see which one looked happiest under most light conditions. The winner was called Cool Cucumber, as I recall.
Good morning, Lauralind. I hope that the extra sleep (which still seems like an extremely early start to me) helps more than the lost time hurts.

Good morning!
LAnn, I’ll use any excuse for a dessert sampler platter.
Doggedly, it’s looking gray here too, although very warm. Sounds like a fun way to learn a new language.
Laura, hope the day gets better.
Smile, I overwhelm myself with choices. Don’t be like me.

Could your dh narrow down to a few for you to pick from? Or would that even help? My dh always goes in the opposite direction so I don’t ask unless I truly have no opinion on something, certainly not involving decorating lol.
He will always go cheapest, whether it’s pleasing or not.
Helia, you had a busy evening helping out dh. It’s pretty cool that you get to see all sorts of people take your class, I bet you learn things from them too. Ribs for Thanksgiving is a nice twist. We go to the Pow Wow and never know what we are going to eat there, the roasted corn is always a must have but mostly snacks otherwise. I’ll be cooking a few days earlier this year for our meal at home so both girls can indulge.
Kitty, it’s nice that everyone behaved yesterday. I thought you might have a tuxedo cat for today but I have learned more about tabbies than I knew. We have spiral, spotted, and striped versions in orange/yellow and gray cats.
A scary story from yesterday…I have a gray tabby named Captain who is very sweet and cuddly but occasionally/pretty rarely tries to run out the front door when I let the dogs out. Last night I let the dogs out before dh and I watched a tv show. I left them out for over an hour as it’s cooler weather, the porch and small yard are fenced so they can’t get out. Mind you, the porch rails are far enough apart for a cat to wander in and out. During the show Beau was scratching at the door to be let in and I told him to stop it. He’s fine laying on the porch a bit. Well, the show went off, dh went to bed, I went to let the dogs in, the main door was open so just the glass storm door was shut, and what did I see? Two dogs sitting watching me with a gray cat inbetween scratching at the door to be let in! I rushed to let them all in, Captain sauntered in like he’s one of the guys, and my heart raced for over an hour thinking of all the horrible things that could have happened to him. I hear an owl nightly, there are coyotes and other predators in the woods behind us, he could have walked off never to be seen again. I hadn’t even missed him bc I dont really do a head count on cats. They all have their hiding spots so I may see none or all eight, I don’t think about it. Now he’s acting like nothing ever happened.
Sorry so chatty, feel free to skip, I was supposed to go to lunch and shopping w a friend and she cancelled so I guess I’m getting it all out of my system.

She is 84 and is feeling dizzy so laying down. Today will be a work day for me then. I was up from 3-7 then napped so starting a little late.

I'm glad that no cats were harmed in the making of Captain's story, Bama. No matter how careful we are with them, a determined cat can slip out on us. Never worry about the chattiness. If we are in a big hurry, we can always skim.
I am just starting now, and have had a victory. I have been wanting to charge the tire pump, but was not sure what I had done with the charger. I finally looked in its original box, and there it was, in the most logical place. Who could have foreseen that, LOL?
That is nice of you to donate books and food, L.Ann.
Thursday
Cleaned up after dog X 3
Found the charger for the tire pump. Where was it? In its original box, so that I wouldn’t lose it or mix it up with other chargers. In the most logical place possible. It only took me two weeks to find it, LOL.

I was writing a note, then lost it becaause I was on the phone and had to close everything,
phone call took an hour, wasn't successful, then said to try another number, which was another 45 minutes of lack of success. I am trying to resotre a voice mail that was "auto deleted" .
still trying, 3rd try. I am being patient, because people are trying to help me, even tho I am frustrated becaseu it seems the technology may be unable.
I saw a poster a few days ago, that said, don't yell, it will not make the flower grow any faster. A good reminder for all of us to be patient, and to remember that people cannot do what they do not know how to do.
Yesterday I said good bye to dsis3 and her dh. We got 165 acknowledgement cards written and mailed. There were 5 sympathy cards in the mail last evening, and 2 today, so there are more to write. But if I keep up, it will be doable.
My car is getting winter tires on today.
I have stoppd the paper for while I will be gone to my dsis3 for American Thankgsiving, oh my, it's one week from today! I have to pack, clean, and it would be good if I could bring a few Christmas presents with me to save on postage.
I still have 2mch2do!

Thank you Doggedly.
Sounds like something I’d do, put an item in its intended spot and then not be able to find it.
Gma, hope you can retrieve the voice mail.
I haven’t budged since my last post. Apparently today is a reading day and I’m not complaining.

Sending you some BGD (butt glue dissolver) bama!
My butt has been glued as I have spend hours on the phone today, trying to deal with the business of life. Looks like no luck on retrieving the actual voice mail I wanted, but I was successful in getting the record that the call was made

Hello, everyone!
That's wonderful news, L.Ann!
Helia, your class sound very ... enthusiastic. But I'm sure you'll manage to channel their enthusiasm into the right directions.
Laura, I hope you have a good day at work, even with the later start.
Smilelee, too much choice can be overwhelming! Cheering you on with the decision making.
WTG finding the charger, Dogged!
Bama, the Captain episode must have been very scary for you. Cats just don't think,.do they?
WTG getting all those cards done, Gma!
I'm in bed now, after a busy day. I managed nto clean the car inside and out before church and run a few errands in town. As I didn't have to rush off I helped Maq clear up after.coffee and we went for a sandwich together. Then I had.mt podiatrist appointment and then I drove home, where I managed a little time in my front
garden before it got dark and too cold. I've swapped the bowl.of begonias.which only just died in last night's frost, so were very good value, for some pansies. Then I had a long text conversation with DF CW, as she wanted advice on an issue. I'm not sure if I was any help, bit I gave her plenty to think about! I have also.(Drum roll! ) Cleaned the fridge before my grocery delivery, and the groceries are now PA. Everyone has been fed and I've run the DW. I need to do laundry, but I'll have a concerted effort with that tomorrow, when I do .housework.
