mom is laying down bc she doesn't feel great - boy I am on her stinker list - it's nice to have dd's/helpers when mom is particularly frustrated with me.
if I can't do something for mom bc she doesn't want me; then someone else generally can. She did take meds from me.

continue looking for broom after pulling cards.
I have a puff pastry that needs using - I also have apples.
Having so many technical difficulties staying connected to the Internet. HRH has worked a couple mini miracles but even he still can't get to his emails easily. I'd better post when I can!
Ds tells us he seems to have a winter cold. Hope that's all.
I find great comfort in the familiarity of my daily tasks, especially taking hourly short walks outside. It feels like the cares of the world just drift away.
Ds17 and his boss had words this morning so DS17 isn't working today. I encouraged DS17 to take a 24 hour break before making a decision how he will respond to what happened. His boss is WELL known for being a BH and rarely has anyone work for him longer than a couple weeks. Little known fact...DS17 boss is my DSis second husband. Well.... X husband. They had an affair, divorce spouses and got married for a short time. I have lost count but think DS17 boss is on wife #5 or #6 now. He has a strong, assertive personality that insists on getting his way in every situation. The reason for the words this morning was....DS17 left the wrapper from lick tubs on the back of the pickup bed yesterday and the wrapper blew into the boss yard. It is true that DS17 should have put the wrappers into the dumpster instead of leaving them on the flatbed....but REALLY?! IMHO, it is similar to someone leaving a candy wrapper in the car. Such a minor thing to blow up about.
ANYway, DS17 and DGS18 have unexpected free time today. So, they decided to drive 2 hours to visit a big vehicle dealership to look and dream. They are currently driving a golf cart around the dealership and finding the #1 choice of vehicle if they were buying....which they aren't!

Twins’, glad you are home safe after such a meaningful trip. Happy for Minnie puppy dog to have her people around her again.
Cathy, good job on the trip to the landfill.
Ramblin’, no you can’t be away when the shaver is on his mind. You are really getting the cards done efficiently.
I can’t believe the year has moved along so quickly and we are this close to Christmas. HRH nagged dbil again and he promised to get us an idea for niece’s gift. Just a few gift wrapping plans still remain.
I don't really have any ta-das yet today (I dozed off between breakfast and lunch ). I have more of an Aaaaaaaaaah!
I don't remember if I've told you anything about DD's plans for her birthday. Months ago, when the hockey team's schedule for the year first came out, DD spotted that they had a home game on her birthday and decided that was definitely what she wanted to do for her birthday. Well, she decided she wanted to take some friends along so she got them all seats. One of the friends is coming in from Michigan by train. They were originally supposed to stay with one of the other friends, but that friend had a flood in their basement, so their guest room was no longer available. I said, sure, they could stay on the bed in the playroom so long as we got the playroom clean enough to do so (more incentive to get the playroom clean!). I did not realize how long they were staying -- they are arriving Thursday and staying till the 23rd! Aaaaaaaaaaah! DD swears she told me the dates before I agreed, but I was definitely under the impression that they were coming for the weekend.
I suppose in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't change much. I was going to have to wash the extra blankets no matter how many or few nights they were staying. The friend they were originally supposed to stay with has offered to take them to and from the train station, which is a great relief, since the trains get here overnight. Oh -- I suppose there's extra food shopping to do, but I was going to need to shop for baking anyway. I'm just so gobsmacked by the additional days that I'm in a flurry. Mentally, anyway. I am not in a flurry of movement getting things prepared. I mean, if I were really determined, I could get in Rose's 8,000 steps! I've just got to calm down and figure out the steps to take things step by step.
I've got my country's 500th anniversary to plan, my wedding to arrange, my wife to murder, and Guilder to frame for it; I'm swamped. -- Prince Humperdinck
found the broom in a bedroom upstairs - a little fairy named "not me" must have brought it there.
turned the dw on
swept the kitchen
cleaned kitchen windows
flipped laundry - started whites.
rinsed the kitchen floor (trim needs washing and work but I won't do that until after Christmas)
I tried ordering the gift card for dd older for when she goes to Naples Florida but it was run by AI and isn't set up well. I called and they gave me a whole bunch of Do this and do that and become a member - they are counting on AI and do not have a basket anymore- I might just give her cash if they can't fix it. It's for a massage or a facial.
Dh went and laid down, so I joined him. He was also up before me. My plan was to be able to get supper on the table on time. That will happen.
Pork chop is about to get shaked and then baked. It's a huge shoulder butt (?) chop and it's around an inch thick. I'm going to boil some potatoes with their skins on, because dh likes them that way. No idea on a veggie yet.

Steps goal done for today yea!
Looked up code info to help me with the assignment I'm doing on notion.
Learning as I go continues. More on what you don't know you don't know
but you can ask google! LOL!
Success! Getting better as I use Notion and figure out the ways to edit and
do the lay out the way I have in mind with color codes!

I finally got a shower. DMillie has been outside a lot today, I think she's watching for cats in the neighborhood. I saw one at the back edge of the yard this a.m. She has been walked.
That was two more ta das.
And even more:
-email re: renewal of cemetery esri account which I know nothing about. I'm always the last to know. (I'm afraid email wasn't gentle either.)
-wrote cemetery check for past due bill that one of the committee members didn't send to me. (Received email re: this boarding plane last Wednesday.)
-email to social committee reminding them that water is off for the winter at the cabana. They just announced a Christmas party there...
-email trying to find out when the next house to sell in the neighborhood closes because it will affect HOA dues bills on 1 January
-made some "quickie" tags for dh's bourbon/liquor gifts to bowling team and others (Cut round tags before we went on trip, just had to put together, stamp and emboss "To from.”)
I'm feeling pretty grippy about cemetery committee. Sorry for venting. I'm going to go upstairs and do some stamping. Dh wondered out loud today "Should we buy some holiday cards to send?" and I whipped out a stack of them I've made. Of course, he added some names to my list that I send.

Knee brace is a new-to-me trial. I am having some hip pain that is now affecting the knee. So far, I think the brace is helping.
We’ve really enjoyed having DGS18 visit for several days. Each day, he’s made it a point to sit and chat with us for a couple of hours. He also shared his AI prompt, which I found both fascinating and incredibly useful. He’s planning to head home tomorrow night.
I made good progress today in getting back into my hourly routine tasks. DH is doing better mentally, so I don’t need to keep such a close eye on him.
