It went well here yea!
DD helped me to move two chairs one to the basement
and one in from the carport. Yea!

I loaned her my two furniture dolly's so she could rearrange her Liv. room furniture too.

Ddoggo wanted to get in the conversation too lol!

Finished the last dish cloth for this set today yea!
Watched the D. Abbey movie just as a wind rain storm blew through here.
Enjoyed the movie.

NOTHING on the calendar for tomorrow. I don't think dh even has his Rotary meeting. I need a trip to the post office tomorrow tho. I don't know what else the day will hold.

The food is all put away. The kitchen is a mess. The rest of the house is company ready, or jump in the truck and go to MIL's ready, if we need to. Considering dh and I both spent the day doing next-to-nothing in our jammies, all the laundry in the house is clean other than what we are currently wearing.

We were surprised that ddolder's family did drop by just because. I got them to take the one card that had been returned because I made a mistake on the address. And they came back with a package that had actually been delivered into the mailbox today (?) of a small sewing present for me from HRH.

WonderBoy asked for my Wassail recipe. I'll have to make sure to do that for him. Not complicated.

Ds called and let me hear on speakerphone the reports from his kids on what they'd been surprised to find on Christmas morning.

They had spent a lot of the day outside in shorts! Warm here, very strange. We broke a record yesterday, I believe.

We've had excellent naps, lol.

I thought of those here who love historic village shows :
Watched yesterday's Last Homely House video in which Kate tours Beamish, an entire historical museum town in Northumberland, with double decker trams to take you around to Edwardian history and 1950s history, etc. Lots of memories to which I caught on - rag rugs (I remember my dgmother had one and I think it came to us eventually but is long gone). Also Shetland Ponies. But things far beyond my memory, too, like Chemist, dry-goods store. The 1950s area was quite normal to me, lol.

Merry Christmas to all! It's very late (early?) here, but I wanted to pop in and let y'all know I have survived Christmas #2 pretty well.
Last night was really nice, because dsisil is so wonderful, and I think DS, DDIL, and dgrands were all well satisfied with their gifts. The teddy bears seemed to go over well -- not excessively emotionally, but DGD did come give me a sweet hug when they realized they were made with Granddaddy's shirts.
Today, dmom and I went to my aunt's house and visited a couple hours, I guess, maybe more. All of my first cousins were there, some briefly, and duncle. He opened presents from all of us, and he seemed to be doing well. After we left, dmom went home and I went to the church where dcousin's were gathering for their family meal. There's such a crowd of them, they have quit trying to have their Christmas celebration at any of their houses. (They did Thanksgiving at one of the brother's houses, but for some reason, they draw the line at Christmas and New Year's.) At any rate, my girl cousins had strongly encouraged me to come eat with them, and I planned to leave after eating, so they could do their gift exchange.

I got there early and helped her set up everything, and she said, "And I want you to stay and play a game with us..." indicating "Dirty Christmas," as she was getting her gift items packaged up in preparation for that. I told her no, I didn't want to do that, I thought they drew names among themselves. She said they used to draw names, but it was just too much, and now they bring gifts for the kids, and for their mom, and they just do the Dirty Christmas with each other. I told her I didn't bring anything and she said she brought extra in case someone forgot! I tried to pay her the $10 amount they limit themselves to, and she said no, if it would make me feel better, I could just put $10 in one of the gift bags. So I did that, and I probably stayed there three hours. I didn't bring any food, but I made sure I stayed and helped get everything cleaned up.

After I got home and DS/family got home from ddil's parents' house, I went over and saw the kids' gifts and brought dgs home with me.

TOMORROW... lunch at Waffle House, gift exchange with dmom, and then the holiday is OVER for me. (All except the put away of tree and decorations... sigh... I always hate that part!) I plan to leave everything up till New Year's Day, at least.

Also plan to go to the UPS store tomorrow and return a couple of A-river items.
Last night, DS noticed my new calendar on the kitchen counter.
DS: "Who did you buy a 2025 calendar for?"
Me: "Me."
DS: "2025???"
Me: -- )&*(#%@_(*& (ugly word) I thought it was 2026, of course, but luckily, A-river will give me a refund. SMH... I think I've been a little bit crazy this whole season.

LucyLee, I'm glad you survived Christmas. Your cousin sounded very organised with the gifts, and I'm sure she really appreciated all the help you gave her setting up and clearing away afterwards. - that was such a kind thoughtful thing for you to do.

Today is Boxing Day in the UK (and in some other places too) and a public holiday.Traditionally it was the day when the alms boxes were opened and distributed to "the poor", but more recently it's become the day for the "Boxing Day sales" where many stores massively discount their stock, and people queue from the early hours of the morning. However, with the rise in online shopping, more stores start their sales online on Christmas Eve.

As I dont *need* anything , I shan't be going near a shop today, either online or bricks and.mortar! However, today I have done a quick tidy/dust/hoover of the sitting room so we look civilised, and now I'm going to have some time in my garden and hopefully go for a short walk.
