January H&F habit focus = Stay aware of when I eat. Stop eating 10 hours after I start.
1⭐

I was going to set this goal to be 8 hours, but it feels too big. I don't want to fail so I'm making it an easier goal that I know I can meet most of the time. I can always reduce my eating time after I become used to doing this.

My January wellness action is avoiding alcohol - i.e. Dryuary. I know it's not good form to goal in terms of avoidance, should be positive, but that's how it it. Or perhaps drinking water instead of alcohol? Anyway, dfriend M is in also.

I really need to start stretching regularly but not sure I have the bandwidth.

Lady M, how wise to set yourself up to succeed, rather than fail. And as you said, you can always tweak the habit later.

Twins, could describe January as being "alcohol free", rather than "giving up alcohol"? It's the same result, of course, but with a more positive spin. (I have a friend in her mid 80s who refuses to have a computer or a smart phone. She describes herself as "tech free" as she's not bowed down with struggling with a recalcitrant laptop, or spending her days on her phone).

French onion soup sounds delicious and warming, Bama!

I'm finding that when I get really.involved with something I tend to forget to drink. Maybe if I kept a water bottle with me (rather than relying on glasses of water) that might help?

'Alcohol free" does sound more palatable, KittyKatt, So far so good. I've done this is January for maybe ten years? Some years it's the entire month, or I stop a day or two from the end. I've given myself a celebration day at times for a particularly good reason, like being with special friends.

I'm on track for 45500 steps this week, that's 6500 daily. Next week, that is starting with tomorrow, I'm going for 7K daily or 49K for the week. I'll have two workouts this next week also.

My weight was up 1/2 lb in December. Trip, lots of celebrations and social occasions, and only one workout/week, except that one week I didn't work out at all. (Still, I'm remembering that last December our gym was closed so he could move, and I didn't workout from Thanksgiving to the second or third week in January,)

I have begun doing food preps for my meals. This way I will have healthy foods to grab.

I’ve made
Chicken, tuna and egg salad ready to go. Also 4oz bags of cooked chicken I can throw on pre-made bags of salads.

I have easy to cook fish and steaks and roasted veggies ready for dinner. My water is set out on my counter to drink

I have help coming in two weeks so I can get back to exercise. I bought a stepper I can use in my living room while Sweetie spends time watching his favorite shows. Can’t use my gazelle when he’s awake because he doesn’t want me out of sight. I can walk outside with him but he now shuffles his feet…due to the Alzheimer’s but we can only make it two blocks

Yesterday I managed 10k steps just working here in the house

Tracking my BP, weight, steps, food and water
We’ll see how this goes.

Today I purchased a new collectible for me, Limoges (sp) and had a nice drive to a new area I haven’t been to before, north of Pensacola in Milton, it has really grown with lots of houses and stores being built there.
I didn’t eat as well or move as much as I would like but it’s the weekend and I’m considering not thinking about health as much on the weekends. We will see how it goes. If I can stay on track during the week then this might work, in moderation of course.
