We have an abundance of ready-to eat food on hand, so I have no plans of cooking today. I will be using that cooking time to process some of the food items I bought yesterday into individual servings sizes get them into the freezer.
  • 2 cups of Shredded cheese into each baggie to freeze.
  • Fresh organic green beans into 1 cup portions and froze
  • Thick cut smoked bacon cut into 3 pieces and froze in dozen piece portions
  • Jalapeno sliced peppers into tupperware easy to serve container
  • Sliced dill pickles into tupperward easy to serve containers
  • Whole organic carrots shredded and into individual portions in freezer
  • sliced olives into daily portion jars
  • lettuce washed and chopped ready-to-use
  • 16 rotisserie chicken breasts put into individual servings and froze
I'm sure there is more but those are the items I remember without looking

Good afternoon!

I just got through ordering groceries for pickup. When I finished the list last night, I asked DH whether he wanted to shop it or wanted me to order. He hemmed and hawed and finally said "order." So we'll pick it up this evening after dinner. Have to remember to pick up DD's prescription, too; they called today to make sure we still wanted it, or they'd put it back. It'll be interesting to see how much it costs without insurance. What's really annoying is that we have gobs of $ in an HSA (I've got our prescriptions set up to debit from there, but I always forget to use it at the doctor's, so we've built up a stash), but since it's connected to our family insurance, we can't use it for DD now that she's off the insurance. :x

I hope your blood draw goes well, Rose, and you get good advice re hearing aids (I'm no help there).

Cathy, my DD joined you in poor sleep last night, but she didn't have a nap, so I don't know what she can blame it on.

You're so busy, Twins! I hope you can relax this weekend and not worry about the work you leave behind at home.

I'm glad you're safe, LadyM, and glad the meteorologists got it right so others could be safe, too.

Yum, Kittykatt, leek and potato soup! I really need to make some around here -- we overbought on leeks last time, so we have some that need using.

Glad you got some rest, Nancy!

(((blessed))) I thought of you last night when a friend was telling of similar drama going on in her family. So at least you're not alone.

I have an online appointment with the nutritionist in half an hour. I am really hoping the store does not call for substitutions during that time, especially since I use Zoom on the phone for these appointments, since her computer echoes if I use mine. (Don't know why; I don't have that trouble with the therapist or psychiatrist, although they are both in different systems.) (OK, by now, it's less than half an hour, so I'm going to go get situated for that --enjoy the rest of your day!

While dh was sleeping this afternoon I managed to pack up the entire village that takes up 2 totes. I also cleared the mantle and also put away the door wreath and the 2 stockings and their hangers. They are actually wreath hangers, but they are also from the dollar store, so I use them for the stockings. All that is left is the tree and the decorations that are on there.

Dh told me that he will have his shower around 4. Supper is around 5.

I am home from workout and errands. Shared with trainer that my fat % had dropped but that my muscle mass was down two pounds last year, so he worked me extra hard I think. I am tired. I do need focus on strength and eating better. (Posted about this in Health and Wellness this a.m.) After workout I ran errands: Jeweler, bank for HOA, return at Home Depot and got HOA mail at post office. I skipped getting gas since the price has dropped and the gas station at WalMart was very busy. It's jammed into a small lot and I feel it's hazardous with people circling and waiting trying to get in. I'll go by the a.m.

I do have some stuff in my car to drop off for charity - will see how I feel about dropping that off in the a.m. Tomorrow I only have the Zoom meeting at 12:30 and we'll leave after that. I have the college age neighbor dog sitting.

Couldn't get back yesterday
wanted to tell Twins' that I was glad she'd had at least some success wading through those responsibilities.

And then the above sat for several hours because today has been so busy.

Ds came and we have a new back porch light installed as of yesterday at dusk, yay!! Very much enjoyed chatting with him, hearing about the children's school doings.

Today was the appt (here) for the truck to be inspected. In other words, we sent it off with employees of the dealership. At this point, that service is still free. A lot of chatting with the delivery folks, who have a bit of a wait for their partners. You do have to be present for pickup and redelivery.

Also we got groceries delivered. We do both shopping and delivery, but of course I'm very grateful that delivery can happen. Yes, I think the start for many was pizza delivery, and I recall the pleasant surprise when some pizza place finally decided our house was within their range of delivery. That was probably a decade after it was a thing. Before that, we could participate in a kind of delivery by meeting a driver at some agreed-upon location.

Kittykatt, my ddolder sometimes signs on for that type of fresh produce delivery and I get to join in with her. Nice box to recieve.

LadyM, your sister's thoughts on grocery shopping remind me that I, myself, am very reluctant about hiring someone to clean, for instance. While others seem to have a great experience with it. Some would never allow others to wax their much-loved cars, or even change the oil, while others don't know where oil goes in a car, lol, and are happy that way.

Made a cake of cornbread today that is extra good, and perfect with pinto beans, so HRH is a happy camper.
