We are back home from out 27 hr trip to Atlanta. Got there yesterday in time to check in and relax a little, then the show last night, and IKEA and lunch at a bagel deli before we headed home. I am tired. I was not thrilled with the show - it was very loud and somehow all the musical bits were monotonous because they were all big dramatic voices. And I was feeling in my chest cavity the deep loud vibrations - Google says it's low frequency bass sounds. And I had a headache. I drove back to hotel after show - raining, hard to see lines on streets, dh doing his very best backseat driver routines. Only about a mile but I was whipped and feeling over anxious - probably part of that was the very loud music and vibrations.

Dh says that IKEA is the place for impulse purchases - it is in some ways and we always buy stuff we "didn't know we needed" lol. Did get new bathmats but now I see they're a smaller size than what we have. And I like the IKEA packages of paper napkins when we're using them. Inexpensive and nice.

Thinks are quiet here. Dog has settled, dh resting his eyes in front of a NFL game. I walked ddog pretty soon after we got home so I could take my shoes off and relax.

Nothing on the calendar for tomorrow. After heavy rain here yesterday and last night, it's cloudy and clearing overnight. High tomorrow only low forties. Good day for some kind of soup maybe.

I have finally undecorated the entire tree. If it wasn't absolutely pouring down rain, we would have gone out to get the box and take the last 4 bins out to the garage.

My dh usually has the TV loud enough for the neighbours to hear it and we can still hear the rain.

Dh insisted on cheese burgers for supper. I wasn't feeling like cheeseburgers, so I had a fried egg sandwich with cheese on it. It was on rye bread.

I think it's going to be an early night.

DD14 has spent the last 7 hours with friends walking around town and hanging out at various businesses. I just went and picked her up from school yard. I know no place is 100% safe, but this tiny town is about safe as it gets with kids freely riding bikes, walking and playing.

I'm about ready to call it a day. I only got 4 hours sleep last night. I spent a couple hours curled up on bathroom floor wishing I could sleep, then the rest of the night cradling a trash can. I hope I this experience gets burned deep into my memory, so I won't repeat it again. Although it was a day of low energy, I still managed to do 85% of my normal daily doings.

(((LadyM))) — I am so sorry you had such a terrible night! I hope things are MUCH better tonight.

Dgs and I just got back from Chick Fil A. We’re watching college basketball right now — well, I am. He’s on the computer. We both need to get our showers tonight bc Sunday School starts 15 minutes earlier for the next 11 weeks, while adults do a special study. DDIL are assuming children need to start earlier too so their parents can attend the adult study.

I have napped today — didn’t get a lot of sleep last night (but thankfully, no sickness!)

Sorry the Atlanta trip was so stressful, Twins.
I used to love to go to Atlanta in the summer. I wasn’t crazy about my half of the drive, and I would get tired of baseball by the time we saw three games — but I loved the hotel and the food, and we always saw some movie that probably wouldn’t come to our area. We always went to this little independent theater.
We went to Atlanta on our honeymoon, do I guess that’s one reason I like it so much.
(Plus, LOL — it IS where Scarlett snd Rhett lived!)

Hope y’all have a good night!
Tomorrow is another day.

LadyM, did I miss something? Are you blaming yourself for being sick? I'm so glad you are feeling better and didn't have a completely lost day.

Twins', glad you are home safe. I wouldn't have liked that musical experience, I don't think.

Cathy, let's hope your laundry room is on the way to repairs very soon!

I've gotten extra laundry done today. Kitchen spiffing. A quiet day.
I've had no one to whom to show kindness except HRH and Tobias, but I hope I showed them lots!
The topic did start me thinking about kindness and how to show it.

I guess the focus of the day was a pleasant time sewing today, mostly patchwork. Continuing that email string, too, but that wasn't as much fun!
