Was up on regular time today.
I've been working on a crocheting project.

Regular family gals lunch meeting is the last Sun of March. Psalms Sun.
Two more joining in ds's S/O wants to come but has to work
and dgd wants to come as well. This is growing.

I'll go and watch on line church later. DD calls often on some weeks other not so much.

I've texted encouraging links to family I put the name of it in J&C thread.

No school here today.

I need to take out the trash before trash day on Tuesday.
Had some food.
Have not done my journal writing for today.
Called on Rx to get it later on this week.
We've walked.

changed sheets they are washing in the dryer now.
Had dinner and washed up the dishes.

oh my goodness - my mom is enjoying being a stinker - she even laughed and looked at me. She knows exactly what she is doing. last night she pointed to me as she spoke to dd older- "that one!" "She is always annoying me"
her brain is good today!

our normal helper washed mom up, and helped her to the bathroom -
put away laundry that I washed and folded for mom.
wonderful to have normalcy again after this weekend

blessed, you made the right decision. Sounds like trauma that just becomes drama, when it is shared in a workplace, with new acquaintances. It speaks highly of you and dd that you must seem like the kind of folks with whom someone could share. But professional common sense would slow that down. So, gee, makes you wonder about common sense in other ways, in a situation that needs a lot of it.

It's the car's inspection day today and that's accomplished.

Call back from the PA was not what I wanted to hear, but it was a clear-eyed opinion, with her reasoning. (lucylee, that's all I want for you, as well.) I'll have to say she was very quick with response since she wasn't expected to work over the weekend.

In the middle of the indoor plants' care days schedule again. With the violets, I have become a victim of my own success. Able to care for them except for actually disturbing their soil, I've watched as they have become larger, stronger and weightier plants, but their pots are the same size. (This is arguably not bad for them, and they bloom more if they are not transplanted too much.) Unfortunately, they are now top-heavy and are starting to have some tumbles. yipes.

HRH just called down the hall, "It's your fault." (I hear this stand-alone phrase often.) He says he is going to eat George Washington Waffles for his lunch dessert. (He's teasing - he's just going to toast an Eg go type frozen Belgium one from the freezer. He's certainly not cooking.) We had a discussion earlier about whether Johnny Cakes can legitimately be called anything but fried cornbread. He is adamant that they cannot. It's better that we discuss things that don't get any more heated (sorry for the pun) than pancakes.

We are definitely the type of household that happens to run into each other while eating.
Suppertime is a little different, in that there is a plan, but HRH almost always has to have entertainment like tv or computer even then. We do find ourselves watching programs we both like at suppertime, and sometimes playing a trivia style game if the screen offers us a show.

We've started wondering whether we were wise to have both a LR and a den, rather than LR and actual dining room, where we might be more serious about family meals that include more family. It didn't matter much while we dealt with immune compromise for him/Covid/me, but moving out of that maybe we're missing opportunity. Lovely DR table was let go... ..

Oh, KittyKatt, I neglected to say you were right in your calculations. I struggled with sleep cycle again. Sometimes (thankfully not as often) tiredness still clobbers me, and I fall asleep early and "too" deeply. It's not at the right time for a nap but it's not the right time to begin a night's sleep, and so my body sort of rebels afterward with middle-of-the-night alertness. Seem to have righted myself today. At other times in my life, I've dealt with daytime sleepiness better, even recommending jumping jacks here, if you can believe that. Yes, I would actually do some jumping jacks and get the blood pumping as if gearing up for a sports match, shake myself out of it, and dive back into busy life. Doesn't work with this, lol.

Our afternoon errands were successful and we made it back in time to get DD14 from school.

DS17 has brought home another old pickup to work on. OF COURSE HE HAS.
I will not complain.
He is staying busy.
He is staying out of trouble.
He is happy and full of enthusiasm for his new project.
He has something for his friends to put hands on and heads together when they come over.
there are bound to be dozens of reasons why this broken pickup in our driveway is a good thing. I just have to keep reminding myself of them.

Dh finally saw those 2 guys about the garage. They will start doing whatever they plan to do out there in the beginning of March. Dh says they aren't sure if they will be working on their own vehicles or trying to work on possible customer vehicles.

We watched some curling. I did some laundry that could have waited, but I was bored. So, lots of blankets have gotten washed whether they needed to or not.

We had the last of the leftover chili for dh and spaghetti for me. Dh had cornbread with his chili.

It turns out that the PSW does work on holiday Mondays.

I did a load of dishes in the dishwasher and now they are all away. I also did all the pots/pans/large utensils.

There is one large pot soaking. It had the chili in it. I "might" do it before I go lay down to read. I'm just waiting for the last load to finish in the washing machine before I go into the bedroom.

Cathy, that sounds like a warm winter meal for your dh.

Have been doing my rare ironing. I iron at least once a quilt, lol. Have to because I always feel the backing needs to be prewashed and then it needs ironing. Don't want to trust so much of any one fabric not to shrink or release dye. I searched the house for my large ironing board (small one is always out for pressing but not this one), and after bothering HRH with the worry, found it right behind the door of the sewing room. oops

The washing machine really twirled and knotted the fabric. It looked like the sheets used to look when I was a child and my grandmother would have laundry day, hand-wringing the moisture out of such a large piece of fabric. She'd have it in a long, twisted snake and then come with the starch to the ironing board. I don't understand why this time it twisted so - the backing of the wedding quilt was washed in the same machine and didn't give me such a hard time. I hope nothing's going wrong with the machine. I had turned it to "light" but not to "delicate", and maybe that's what it needed. It all ironed out well, though.
