Re: Wilfred Thesiger Thursday
Thanks Bama. That's what they told me to do. I can get the sample before I bring him in as by the description I think they agreed with me. It's very dark and not make very much. He tried marking all the way along his walk yesterday with not much result. Hopefully they can test it and just give him something for it. I should go out the front door to find him when dh leaves. At least I hope that's how it works. But like I said all it will take to get him there is a 5 minute walk and not losing skin like cats do.

Re: Wilfred Thesiger Thursday
Hope dpup feels better.
Done:
Weigh - see if scale is working or order new one, I replaced batteries and it worked Tuesday then totally ignored me standing on it yesterday, it’s dead, added one to cart
Wipe down kitchen counters
Unload and load/run dw - several items came out not clean so soaking those
Take supplements
Water

-try to get past this point-
Checked out “whatnot” auctions - so addictive but managed to push away
Played daily games
Do:
Drink water
Pet chores
Log breakfast

Re: Wilfred Thesiger Thursday
Not a banner day in the Dogged household so far: my internet is still not working (the new one), and Germane has to wait for her homemade dog food to thaw out as we have used up all that was in the fridge. She is in an accept-no-substitutes kind of a mood, so is holding out for the reappearance of homemade. I have run out of fresh vegetables, so I can't put on a batch for her either until I do groceries.
Buuuuut.... while I have been typing this, I got through to the support agent much more quickly than I anticipated and after some checking he confirmed that there is a Rogers outage. I'll just explain: all infrastructure is actually built by Bell Canada or a cable company, and there is only one cable company in each area. So, whoever you buy your internet from, it's actually coming through Bell or the cable company, which in my area is Rogers. I am on Bell, which is rock-solid reliable but expensive to buy through them directly. I would have preferred to stay on the Bell network but through a third party to pay less, but the options that I was looking at were all on the Rogers network. I know that it's not as reliable as Bell, but since I am retired I can do without internet from time to time and this is about 1/3 the cost for the first year. When it spikes to its normal cost, it will still be half the cost of Bell. Anyway, while I have been trying and trying to coax my modem to connect, it turns out that Rogers has been out in my area since last night. At least I don't have to undo that cable again. It's expected to be out until this evening. So now I can turn my attention to other things. Like CUOP.

Re: Wilfred Thesiger Thursday
Thanks, helia. Maybe you need some downtime on your open days?
L.Ann, I would appreciate less excitement in my list. Maybe we can even things out?
Lauralind, you know those slotted spoons with the long handle in the kitchen tools dept. They have ones that have no slots in them, but have the same angle as a slotted spoon. Not a sharp angle like a ladle. Well, I have had to follow Germane around with one of those to collect pee. She is very close to the ground and I am not agile, so that long handled spoon helped. You would want to bring Casper to something that gets peed on, that has attracted his attention in the past. He may not have much pee in him, but he will squeeze out a drop to mark if it kills him.
Hi, Bama. It sounds like you got lots done yesterday, even if it felt a bit chaotic.
--oh, I see that you have it figured out Lauralind
It looks like you have those Donwannas licked, L.Ann.
Thursday
Cleaned up after dog
Put on a pot of coffee
Rearranged furniture to get at coax connection and power outlet
Unplugged modem, detached coax cable
Found monkey wrench
Reattached coax cable
Plugged in modem
Same thing: lights indicate that it can't connect upstream
Fed Germane
Bagged kitchen garbage and took it to chute
Replaced garbage bag
Fresh kibble for Germane
Called new ISP
Tech checked and found that there is an outage which is predicted to go on until 7:00 pm
Scrubbed out sink and basin
Washed some dishes
Tried to watch course; no sound
Booted computer
Decluttering
Worked on audio problem in settings
Got to the end of my 15 minutes of course time with no course and no resolution
Put away dry dishes
Wash more dishes
Wipe down accessible surfaces

Re: Wilfred Thesiger Thursday
Hi Everyone!
I've been out all day and heading back out in a moment.
Crazy freezing rain has stopped. There was no ice build up but on the ground it turned pretty slippery. Salt and shovels have been my best friends...
The better tool we have is locked up in the shed... unable to open that thanks to (you may have guessed it) the ICE.
I will try to check in but if not, I'll see you all tomorrow!
Have a great evening!

I did figure it out. Now I find he definitely has blood in his urine and crystals. Just like Stella? Ugh. Poor guy. Meds and hopefully not more expensive food? Ugh. I am going to walk him down to the vet for a 300 appointment.

(((Lauralind and Casper))) I had a rabbit who had that. I think that it's a common thing in male rabbits. I hope that they have a good treatment for Casper.
kitkat, that does not sound like fun! I hope that clearing it goes smoothly.
I have made some fudge, and am taking a break.

Re: Wilfred Thesiger Thursday
Hi Lauralind
We had a dog with crystals in the family. He avoided surgery - was able to manage with strict diet (and no treats) for 10 years post diagnosis.
There was no recurrence.
Hope Casper is better soon!
Hi Dogged and LAnn - see you all tomorrow!
