helia, chokeberry juice is one of the strongest natural colorants, so... yes, the wall will be needing some touch-ups.
kittykatt, getting rid of unwanted items if somebody else pays the postage is the best!

Had a lucky catch - wanted to make mexican bean soup from scratch, so opened a new package of beans I recently bought. And there, in the sealed package, were the first signs of flour moths! I only just got rid of them after last year's infestation. So, change of plans, no cooking from scratch, will use canned beans :-)

☀️Good morning!

Shakespeare? Never heard of him. 🤨
(jk)

Thanks for the start kittykatt. So true about the old papers and not needing them by the time I get to them. Maybe that’s my strategy…it’s what I’m telling people from now on anyway!

Oh no Trissie, so sorry about the mess. I can relate. Dd2 got sick on blackberries one time and our carpet still has stains that are almost 20 years old. Hope the paint covers the wall stains adequately. Too bad you can’t crate kids lol.

French, I like the buffet idea, walking about and munching, if that would work. Tbh home decor isn’t usually noticed that much when there is a large group of people to distract.

Helia, I love to look at cowboy boots and hats too but totally not my style. I never could find a comfy pair of boots and I don’t have the head for a hat. And sadly no horse.

Hi LAnn.

It’s hot here too. And the flies are back. I don’t think our weather stayed cold long enough so they’re back with a vengeance. I guess I need to look into traps. They’re just so gross to have around the house. The bushes I wanted pulled up are starting to bloom, now do I let them bloom out or yank them up anyway. And in front of our porch are the prettiest white blooms covering the ground. Briars! I think I’ll let them put on berries before I do away with them. Might as well get something out of it before they tear my arms and hands up right?

Not moving my list as we are going to Hollywood. I’ll find it tomorrow or Monday and tackle it refreshed. Dreading today’s trip as we will have to deal w dh’s sister and her brood of feral unspayed cats. I’m chasing my tail trying to get her to be responsible. And at 70yo I doubt she is going to change now. Grr.

It’s a beautiful day so shaking off the negative and getting moving. Enjoy this beautiful day, my friends! :D

Can you wait a couple of weeks and do a welcome spring party, FFB? Then you could maybe have the kids take their food outside to eat picnic style. That would reduce the number of people you need to seat. In case of rain you could hopefully throw a blanket down somewhere and the kids could picnic inside.

It was a short walk on the app which was nice but I still need a lot of steps.😏

1-feed birds and pick up yard
2-swish and swipe

4- put oven racks in to soak

Hello, all. It is laundry day today for me. It will be a little harder than doing it on a weekday, especially as I am probably not the only person in the building who has figured out that laundry probably won't happen on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday as the elevators will go down randomly. However, I didn't do it yesterday, so today I have to roll up my sleeves and get 'er done.
The kitchen needs attention too. I have the dw loaded and ready to run tonight, but yesterday's cooking has filled the horizontal surfaces back up. I seem to have used all of the large Tupperware containers for storing stuff, which means that I don't have one available to put the bread in. I had it wrapped in two tea towels overnight, but I have to find a better solution or it will go hard very quickly. The crust has already hardened overnight.

Kittykatt, you are very kind. Germane would like to lodge a complaint. I am still trying to offer her dog foods, though I end up throwing it out when she doesn't eat it. She quite likes the pork broth, she does not appreciate the diced carrots in it, and she would like a new piece of fish cooked for her every day. And worst of all, her human has cut a new set of rink boards for her pee pads so that she will stop peeing off of the end of them onto the floor. Germane does not approve of rink boards and has no objection to peeing on the floor.
As for the paperwork, as Bob The Dinosaur used to say in Dilbert: It might look like I'm doing nothing, but I'm actively waiting for my problems to go away.
I'm glad that you won't be charged for the vanishing handset.

trissie, thank you for making me feel better about my dog spreading rice around my freshly washed floor and pooping on the mat that I put down to help her traction. It could be kids armed with chokeberry syrup and glass.

(((FrenchFly))) I can completely understand being intimidated by the idea of having guests over. But they also have kids--won't their houses be in the same state? It's common to have a kids table, separate from the grown ups. Could you get away with spreading a blanket on the floor of another room and making the "kid's table" a picnic?

helia, I am glad that you are enjoying your trip. It sounds like your DH had a narrow escape from being "all hat and no cattle" as they say.

I am at the end of Page 1 time to get back up!

Sorry about the staining juice on the walls, trissie. Good catch on the bugs, though.

Oh, I see that L.Ann has already proposed the picnic idea

Good luck in Hollywood, Bama.

Laundry is in progress.

WTG, L.Ann!

And for the bread? I applied Sophia Lauren's fix for the mortadella in Lady Liberty: I ate enough of the bread that what's left fits in a freezer bag.

Finally getting back here. I'm very tired - but it's been a good day.

Nice fix for the bread, Doggedly. Had to look up that film. :D
I need to update my diet site tonight too, L Ann. Yum - fresh bread!
Good luck with the feral cats, Bama.
Good catch on the bugs, trissie.

After jogging this morning, a little farther than usual -- working up the mileage -- dh and I showered, had coffee, and then headed over to the Ys' home. We got there at 11. I walked a little with KY and then we sat in her living room and talked and talked. Then, at about 1:15, we all walked to a nearby restaurant for lunch - KY, SY, myself, and dh. That was nice! We went back to their place and talked some more. It was after 4 pm by the time we left. SO it's been a very social day -- BUT KY is maybe my only friend with whom I can talk and talk and talk and not feel tired out. I need more friends like her! She's golden! When we moved away from Austin, leaving her was the hardest part of our move for me.

However, I am tired now. I had a coffee in an effort to stay awake. I was dozing off over a puzzle. . . .

Dh and I are staying in tonight and just eating boiled eggs and tofu spring rolls I bought yesterday for dinner. I'll have some yogurt and fruit too. We don't need to eat a lot and we've been out all day, so staying in sounds great to us.

I should put together my AR Exam this evening, but I might try to do that on the flight home.

Next:
- get a simple dinner together
- after dinner clean up
- text AA reply
- update payroll timesheet
- reading time? (I'm feeling too tired for writing or payroll)

Later:
- make the bed?
- payroll: make AR Exam
- some qt at some point
- writing time
- reading time?
- dinner out
- start packing
- duolingo
- update health apps

TaDas!
- dressed to jog
- back exercises
- jogged along the river/ lake (Austinites call it a lake but it's really the Colorado River)
- coffee
- texted KY with our ETA
- updated toodledo
- s2s and self care
- gathered stuff and otd by 10:30
- spent time with friend KY
- lunch out with KY, SY, and dh
- drove back home (30 minutes 1 way)
- coffee; not much else;
- read through check out instructions
- decided to eat in
- dh is boiling eggs
