Thanks for the encouragement. Maybe I'm just tired again. This pain is kinda exhausting and unmotivating too.
I do get things done... I think some of the problem is I've let my kitchen routines slide till the sink area ... ewww some days. And I just need a little outside help I think to organize this unconventional house in a way that feels less busy. The ornery cats don't help either.
There's family stress going on again atm too . Not helping.
I did s&s the ensuite and reboot laundry. Decided to run a cleaning cycle first.
To do before work
Quick pupa main living space
Eat something
Clean cat boxes and take garbage out from everywhere
Go wake up Casper for a sample
See what time I have left to empty reload dw

Re: Henri Matisse Monday
Are we into the French painters this week? Now that's a topic I am sure to enjoy!
kittykatt, I will have to experiment with roasted cabbage - the tradition here is either a salad (many different kinds), sauerkraut, or braised cabbage as side to roasted meat: https://www.thespruceeats.com/czech-bra ... li-1136398
I will be back with more personal replies, but now I really need to get going on doing stuff! It's just one of those days...
TaDas
- morning madness
- snacks for all kids
- to work on time
- many meetings
- apt at notary to settle inheritance from grandmother
- pick up DBD from school
- catnap to keep me going as I only slept about 4 hours
ToDos
- morning routine
- 30 upstairs
- fold and put away towels

Re: Henri Matisse Monday
That recipe looks good, trissie. It’s basically how I cook mine but without the vinegar or sugar, which I’m sure add new levels of flavor.
Sometimes we just have to go through the motions, Laura, or take a break and escape the mundane, whatever we are able to do at the moment. I’m sooo tired of cat chores but I do love my cats so I deal with it the best I can.
Enjoy your walk, LAnn.
Travel and time change might tire you some, helia. We go in August, there’s just a lot of small details to deal with.
Not really at break time yet but needed a mental break from something so cuops before I jump back in.

Re: Henri Matisse Monday
trissie - I do a version of that one as well : minus the bacon fat... I do one that I then mix with egg noodles . Very yummy...
helia nice to see you back - enjoy the weather while it's here! (We are getting snow next weekend...)
Bama how many cats do you have?
LAnn I hope you have our good weather for the walk
Lauralind hope Casper is fine and that vet fees are reasonable.
So:
I could not resist this morning: took pup for a brief walk before breakfast:)
Went to yoga.
Now:
baked some mini croissants (WF)
currently, spaghetti squash is in the oven
marinating Portobella
then
cleaning /slicing Savoy

Bama, with your Czech origins, I think I know where that one came from!
kitkat, cabbage with egg noodles is a Slovakian recipe. My father actually was Slovak and my mother grew up there (my grandfather was working there), but neither really like it. I only first had it as an adult!
L.Ann, chili for dinner, without cooking, that's a dream!
lauralind, crossing my fingers that there isn't a huge vet bill!
helia, fully unpacking on the day you come it at 8pm? You sure you a SHE?
I am like you with the lists - they never get done in their entirety
How come it's already 6pm???
TaDas
- morning routine
- clean master bedroom
- clean master bathroom
- fold and put away towels
ToDos
- midday routine
- 15 in DBD's room
- start dinner
- chase kids to do homework

Love frozen extras, Trissie. Laura, I think when your parents are changing so much stress is high and getting anything done is hard. Maybe just stop by and chat and don’t focus right now on progress during this overwhelming time. When you are ready you could pick just one thing to do a day and count the day a success if you get that thing done. Something like visit your dad or call the vet about Caspar.

Re: Henri Matisse Monday
trissie, dh unpacked fully last night - not me. I think he IS BO in many ways. He also naturally has a lot of energy. Also, we travel light - only carry on. This was just a 3 day trip. What's for dinner?
Lauralind, I think L Ann's comment is wise. I'm just now starting to feel like I have more "time", but I think it's really that I have more emotional and mental space after the worry and care for my mother for several years ended - and the grief has lessened. Caring for elderly parents makes one busy in all ways.
WTG with the gardening and walking, L Ann. I hope DD33's shot went smoothly.
Baking croissants and cooking cabbage and mushrooms. That all sounds delish, kitkat! I bet the pup appreciated the morning walk. We have snow forecast for the weekend too.
Looks like you're drinking your water, Bama.
I'm running through here again. Payroll meeting is over but went 10 minutes late. I'm off to WF and Walgreens next. Then, I'll go for a jog.
Next:
- WF
- Walgreens
- put everything away
Later:
- WF
- Walgreens - pick up script

- pick up new ministry - giving
- payroll: update gradelink week 3
- payroll: exam prep - make AR Exam
- (maybe) payroll: make a practice exam
- dress to jog
- jog
- dinner: lentil curry, rice, roasted veggies
- after dinner clean up
- duolingo
- update health apps
- writing time?
- reading time?
TaDas!
- up; weighed self - up 2 pounds but I'm not sure that's real
- coffee
- email deletions + weather website

Re: Henri Matisse Monday
Thank you for another poetic start, Kittykatt. Your new set up with the vacuum plug sounds very tidy and organized.
trissie, Doggedly and all dogs everywhere are asking "There's somebody who doesn't like cheese?"
FrenchFly, that sounds like a good way to deal with the fresh bread. I tend to forget that homemade is not full of preservatives and let it go mouldy before I realize. Of course, my freezer is stuffed to the gills, so I can't follow your good example.
That was Sunday, and I never around to posting it. Yesterday, I had a nice long phone visit with my db, and watched the original Total Recall. (I had watched the remake a few weeks ago, so was curious to see the difference.)
Today is not going to be a very productive day either, as the theme for the day in the Dogged household is Do Not Bend, Fold, Or Mutilate. I'm blessed with a good back, so days like this are few and far between. For now, I am lifting Germane's bowl with a grabber stick, and it's a good time to work on getting Parrot TV working on one of my devices in preparation for the loss of Bell.
On the bright side, a potential problem has sorted itself out with no fuss. My building hasn't started its fire alarm tesing yet, which shuts down the elevator, and my Costco delivery was delivered to my apartment door before they started, so no issues there. I shuffled the boxes into my apartment and will open them when I'm a little more bendy.
Bama, I'm sorry but I don't know what you are referring to here:
Dogged, what are you lining your pads with? I didn’t know there was such a thing. That would help me with Tux my senior.
If you can jog my memory, I'll be happy to share!
Thank you for today's artistic start, Kittykatt. I confess, I tend to confuse Matisse, Manet, and Monet.
I'm one of those who believes that cabbage must be twice killed before introducing it to my digestive system. By the time I'm done with it, it is indeed a different vegetable.
Bama, if you're iffy about cabbage, I would recommend looking for Savoy cabbage. It looks like green cabbage but with curly leaves, and it is much milder than other cabbages.
kitkat, I have seen images of roasted cabbage online, and it does look good. I have never had the courage to try it.
Hooray for sunshine, L.Ann.
Lauralind, I hesitate to post lists of To Dos too, as I always seem to go and do the opposite.
You are right Bama. Looking forward to the later sunset.
Welcome home, helia! There's nothing like a safe, uneventful trip home. By the time that we get to the end of our vacation, we just want to get home without drama.
I am up to the end of Page 1, so, off I go to try to be useful.

Dogged, it was something you had mentioned as a barrier with your pee pads, to contain the liquid. Tux gets the edge of the pads but some of it glides off before it has time to soak in.
