I am so excited to be FINALLY starting to get a handle on the eating. I have been full all day and not wanting to rip the wallpaper off the wall and eat it. :lol: When I added the other categories to my spreadsheet it became glaring obvious that I wasn't getting enough milk (as in NONE). My main focus remains the starches, but if able I'm going to be starting to work on adding in the 3 milks a day.

I need to keep the starches low the next couple of days so I can have some "aut-oh" numbers and it won't ruin everything. We will be traveling this weekend (eating out at least 5 times) and having cake/ice cream for DGS3 (turning 4 years old!!!).

OKay you got it. I'm so excited for you. It is clicking. You are adding room for the weekend and planning the day. Milk does make a difference on a full feeling because of the carbs and fat.

Good idea to keep your focus on the starches and the others will follow.

What I ate on an unusual day
out traveling far from comfort zone from 7:30 until 1:00

Breakfast - 1 peach

10:30 Brunch between drs - 8 nuggets ChickFilA
1 large size carrot raisin salad ChickFilA
CocaCola, medium

Lunch - 4 oz Oikos Greek yogurt
1 Brazil nut and 1 tablespoon sunflower seeds
10 Wheat Thins
3 licorice

Supper - Big salad just veggies with 1/2 tablespoon mayo
3 slices thin crust green pepper pizza
1/2 cup almond milk
rice flour fortune cookie

for me the important things I look for are
1) were there 5 servings of veggies/fruit - yes, barely
2) was the white flour very limited - okay, but chancy

The mini wheats I've been eating are not the "little bites" -- just regular mini wheats, frosted, maple brown sugar.

My pb crackers are Lance, 190 calories.

Aha I figured out why the difference in the counts for mini-wheats. They were counting milk.

You mini-wheats are 2 carbs.

just guessing -- I have absolutely no idea what these should be. I didn't check anywhere.
I think in an earlier post you told me 1/2 baked potato was 1 starch, and I was just hoping the fried fish wouldn't be more than 1 per fish.

I know the starches are waay low today. I do have a reason. My weekly average is 6.3 starches (daily). I'm trying to bring the average down so I can have some wiggle room for this weekend.

A more normal day. I did calories only for a count.
Tomorrow I should have fish because I've been 2 days without it now.
If I exercise tomorrow, I'll need more calories than this.

The soda was way out of line. I think because I felt pressed into having one yesterday away from home, I thought I "needed" one today. And I was nervous over company, my ddad feeling unwell, etc. :roll: Carbs make you crave carbs. Carbonation becomes habit quick.

Breakfast – smoothie of
1.5 peaches – 50 calories
½ cup blueberries - 50
3/4 frozen banana - 50
(with crushed ice)

Brunch – small/med sweet potato, butter - 220
1 cup almond milk - 60 calories -

Lunch – Eggplant Parmesan 320 calories
Soda – 170

Snack – 4 oz Greek yogurt 110 calories
2 licorice – 80 ; 1 Brazil nut - 20

Supper - small portion beef dish - 100
Roll, butter – 120
Small plain salad

1350 calories, so truth is probably 1,400 ;)
about 7 veggies/fruits, very little white flour, so, thumbs up
