Cowinkie thanks for that reminder I've not done the big arm work out since that one day still sore!

That is a great idea about U-tube!
I've been doing the same smaller arm work outs with the #5 wts. daily
but not the push ups or total gym
Time for me to get that in my routine.
How do you pamper your feet and or get rid of stinky feet?
I looked on u tube and got a ton of ideas for this ans.
thanks Harriet green tea was mentioned,
coffee grounds too.
Now I'm thinking I can totally do a foot pampering card!

Just wanted to share a long awaited experience
This morning I wore my smaller size jeans. Everywhere I went, I was stopped and received compliment after compliment on how much weight I had lost and how good I looked now. These new jeans are too big on me too. I was wearing thermal long-johns when I tried them on and didn't realize how much bigger they would be without the bulk of that underneath them. However being 4-6 sizes smaller than my previous jeans, they are an improvement on what I was wearing. No one really seemed to notice the weight loss until I switched to clothes that fit me better. Those big baggy jeans are going to be passed on to someone else. I'm not holding onto bigger size clothes.....just in case. If I dare to gain the weight back, then I'll just have to walk around naked.
2 lbs lost this month so far.
3.6 lbs to goal weight

OKay, consider making a compliment card for today. You could print out your post here, or try to remember what specific people said. I wish I could have been a little mouse in your pocketbook, to get to hear and remind you of exact words!
Nancy, HRH sprinkles aloe baby powder in his shoes and he at least has the idea that that helps avoid odor. I've heard that only baking soda really works, but he thinks the baby powder works! Dr. Oz says to soak feet in a weak tea without any other ingredients and the tannic acid in the tea works to dry out bacteria. I think the idea would be on his website - it was on one of his shows last season.
I alternated walk/jog/walk/jog for 1/2 mile today with Sammie and enjoyed fall colors and fresh air, good company! Scale sees no change. Tomorrow morning appt with thyroid surgeon (for needle biopsy on my one nodule, the "vast majority" of which are benign, so no biggie, just checking, for credit on a proactive medical test I suppose, smile). I do have questions for her. I don't understand my gen prac's reluctance to consider my trying to get more iodine into my diet, since people in Japan have the lowest incidence of thyroid problems in the world and the highest amount of iodine in their diets. It seems like to me if someone is sending me for pills and for a biopsy, they should be sending me for kelp, too!
And Basic workout this evening.

Nancy When I can make the time, I soak my feet in Tea Tree Oil. It has some medicinal properties and reduces the bacteria. For every day, I put baby powder or foot deodorant powder on my feet. You can also use regular deodorant but I found mine was too drying (it is a salt stick, not a chemical one.)
I only have a problem with foot odor in the summer (but it is horrendous.) I guess the socks wick away the sweat in the winter.
I'm back on the treadmill. Nothing to report except I'm sticking to the program as best I can. Cowinkie's comment about being bored with what I can eat made me aware that is a problem for me too. Must figure out a solution. I tried a different tinned soup yesterday and hated it. But it has been over a week since I had my regular homemade soup (not diet at all but healthy) so maybe I'll try that tomorrow.
Today is an eating challenge day, I'm out for both lunch and dinner and dinner is a church supper which means pie. Low or zero point snacks will have to be packed to help me get through the day, which means shredding carrots for me and maybe chopping up the other veggies I bought to mixed in with the hummus.

Cowinkie, in your post of Oct 18, I read it to say you were 1 pound away from your 30 pound loss and then a few days later you lost .5 but I didn't see any more loss posts. Means a lot to us, though, not to neglect/miss it if you reach a milestone, and now I'm not so sure... ... so let us know!

Wash your feet and put on clean sox or they will smell like old cheese.

BS was good this morning yea!
I prefer mint to the smell of tea tree oil.
Back from a walk it was too nice to stay indoors the sun is out and it's wonderful weather 50* talked with neighbors met the new sherriff's deputy that moved in down the block lovely fall color is at it's peak here now!

Well, yea I used to say cotton socks were important and mostly I meant for preventing blisters for my children, but also protecting feet from any contact with the shoe. I think about this as : the sock is easily cleaned or even replaced, but the shoe is probably hard to clean, costs a lot more, and if it has any age on it has a good chance of bacteria. Also, even cloth insides of shoes are not natural fibers, necessarily, so I'd worry about the kid's feet against them a lot. So my go-to rule was cotton against feet.
(here comes a rant)
Of course, "cotton" socks might have had some poly content, but usually were mostly cotton. NOW the truth is, unless I'm willing to buy very thick or white socks only, I find it difficult to find any color of socks that are more than 25% cotton - most don't have that much. They may look better at first, in that they are more elastic, but they do NOT last as long. Any of my colored/dark socks wear out way more quickly now, and I know it is because they are made of cheaper materials. And my usual "uniform" through most months (jeans or slacks) does look best with dark-ish socks. I hate to have to buy a half-size larger shoe, or be uncomfortable, just because I need thick socks to have cotton!
That's my rant.
Oh, and "knee-his" hurt at the top after half a day. Now I'm finished.

Harriet... Don't laugh I have the same problem so I started buying guy socks. I buy colored boy socks and also mens. They are more comfortable, feel better and last longer. I buy my athletic socks at an athletic store like sports a academy. They cost more but are worth the Money. And sometimes you can find all cotton socks on the net.
As for my weight, I stalled and almost lost my motivation. I backed off and allowed myself some time to enjoy "forbidden foods" for me that is starches and carbs. Think bread and chips. Scale climbed like I knew it would and I gained 2.75lbs. Stayed steady for a few days and now I'm on the sing down. I am 1.5lbs away from 30 lbs.
It's been a good experience because I was able to start up again after taking time off. My plan is to continue loosing another 10 lbs. That would allow me to get under my goal and give me some wiggle room Then I will do what I have in the past.... Eat on plan during the week and eat control portions of what I want during the weekends. That's what I did for 15 yrs. I lost 40 lbs by doing this and kept it off for those 15 yrs.

Did very well yesterday. So that is a star for me.
Had lunch at Subway because I can eat salad now. It takes longer but I can do it. So I have an 'out' meal I can eat that doesn't have a lot of points but still fills me.
I had a snack in my car on the way to the church. And took back roads since it was a rural church north west of my home. Beat the others by 10 minutes by staying away from the highway.
Had to wait until 6 for dinner and chose the vegetarian lasagna over the chicken a la king. Skipped the roll and had fruit plus dessert (without the ice cream) and came home hungry but not way over my points for the day. Eating at the resource table instead of in the dining hall made it a lot easier to eat less. Had a bowl of applesauce for a bedtime snack.
I'm very hungry now but made it through the night fine. I should be out like that every day, it would make it easy to lose weight since I avoided unplanned snacks and had portion control because someone else cooked.
It is heating season here so my nails are splitting and breaking. I put nail polish on them before getting onto the treadmill but already have dinged my right thumbnail by gouging it with my left as I type. Sigh.... I'm out of clear nail polish so used french pink, the gouge really shows so I may have to redo the nail.
Weight was 168 yesterday morning which is down a little from the previous week. Progress is now slow but in the right direction. I've marked my period on the calendar and will up exercise that week in order to try and keep from having time-of-month weight gain.

I find it impossible to find cotton socks without polyester. In the past the polyester makes my feet sweat ... I heard aome sock supposed expert saying the polyester is meant to help wick moisture away. I keep reading sock lables, but no luck in anywhere. luckily I have a fair stash of socks, but wanted more "foot socks" as the last batch I bought just walk their way off my heel and my shoes eat them. Seems like I'll be wearing old ankle socks for the future.
