Stopping to check my plan and see where I am on completing it.
On hold ** Project of the Day = Get my Real ID. I called our tag office but it is closed due to c19. I'll try again next week.
Done ** On the menu today = Spaghetti with meat sauce.
In progress ** 6 habits being tracked in January. 5 have been completed. I'm not having much success in getting myself motivated to spend 30 minutes outside in the cold dreary weather.
Done ** Homeschool & Charter school.

I'm on plan g...or h....on getting DD9 phone fixed. I'm trying to remain steady and keep moving forward with the next thing to try. It is easy to get frustrated with the previous efforts that failed.

I do agree, Harriet. It was a frightening day to see the U.S. Capital breached. Windows were broken out, papers strewn about, offices ransacked. I am frightened for our country - we are so divided.

I'm still working on WHB, making progress...

Done for today. I really should do the stairwell and upstairs bath tomorrow. Some more to do in the kitchen but I can do it as I clean the kitchen up in the a.m.

Once I walk the ddog, I'll have my steps for the day also.

Ok, I'll say one thing and then that's it. Ask yourself, with the huge security and police force with their huge budget in the few square miles that is the Capitol, the White House, etc., and with the advance notice they all had that this group was going to come, why was there so little security there to deal with it? It never should have happened in the beginning. Neither should all the riots in other places earlier last year that they turned their backs on and looked the other way as rioters took over cities and damaged whole areas while they chanted about defunding the police. There's a way to have a lawful society and this is not it. Both sides are responsible for it all. I'd sure like to see us get back to normal.

So, moving on...
The Drs. office finally relented and did my appointment through the computer which was way better than just telephone. I guess people had tried to do this with their desktops but they didn't have auxiliary cameras and microphones so the meetings didn't work. Thank goodness for the zoom meetings that forced us to get our act together. This dr. is ok I guess. She even looked back in my records 8 years and compared a recent test with one way back then. She came up with something natural to try that I'd never heard of before. So, this is going ok I suppose.

I spent a long long time researching this supplement to see if I was comfortable trying it.

Finally, got out of the office and went for a long walk, then got on my bike and rode for a nice ride. Getting my strength back, I can feel the difference. Maybe I'll get more done tomorrow.

Thank you all for your kind birthday wishes. They mean a lot to me.
I think I'm off the phone for now. Its been a day for calls from various family members.

DD1 said she wanted to come and take me to lunch tomorrow after the car is serviced today,

but surprise
Their city is in lock down, only to go out for work, food, caring duties, essential reasons.
There is one known case (hotel cleaner) of the UK Corona virus escaped from hotel quarantine, who was out and about for 5 days before the positive test.
My family alerted me to the lockdown news as I hadn't crawled all over the interweb reading the news yet.
At this stage lockdown is thru to Monday inclusive, I'll believe its off when I see it. Knowing Qld there will be a thorough search for cases. Boarders to everywhere else are locked again.

DGS was sent home from work to work from home for at least the next week. IT support.
It was good to have healing conversations with family.

Yesterday I bought myself a bunch of roses to share with dear XMIL, whose funeral happened the week before Christmas. I need to have a special time in a special spot when the rain isn't pouring down, and 'talk with her' of memories a bit. I would have loved to have known the time and place to see if I could get there.
An upset happened that day with sudden quarantine requirements for xbros from interstate, who instead just turned around and went home. I'm not sure if there was a number restriction applied there (for the funeral) as well.

DM is hopeful to get into a retirement village in possibly Feb. Legal appointments needed.

My prayers continue for the US for the long haul. Ongoing.
There are some who would love a 'fight'. imo.
Enough said.

There are probably some things we will never know about all this, Harmony. I know the rioting and everyone should have been handled more effectively in ALL situations. Perhaps if all the looting and burning and chaos all summer had been handled better, things wouldn't have gotten to the situation we saw yesterday.

I don't know what is ahead for us -- but whatever the future holds -- let's make sure HERE in our little village we continue to love each other and respect each other. We probably don't agree on every aspect of how our government should be run, but let's not lose ANYONE over this, okay? You ladies are so important to me.

I'm very grateful to our 10 living Defense Secretaries and I think Cheney was exactly right to gather all their thoughts into their unprecedented joint statement the other day.
Harriet, I missed this -- is there a link to Cheney's statement?

Also -- Lynlee -- I may have missed wishing you a happy birthday -- so if I did -- you WERE on my mind, and I'll say happy birthday now! Hope you've had a wonderful day, and thank you for your good thoughts for our country.
