It's still raining this evening. We have some localized flooding and expecting rain through tomorrow. Hearing thunder now.

Dh went on to bowling. I don't think he should have, especially since he took pain meds.

I picked up meds and some protein drinks for him once he was home. Also tea bags to bite on to stem bleeding, but they were the wrong size.

Somehow, I'm just in a mood. Instacart order didn't include several things I was sure I had ordered (deli turkey, spinach?), Last pass has been giving me issues getting logged in, rain continues, dh is grunting at me but capable of bowling and talking to other people? Ddog is needing attention.

life with teens continue.

DD14 spent over 3 hours with 3 other teenagers walking around our small town and getting treats at gas station. I kept track of her on Life360. I expect she will sleep well tonight.

DS17 has three friends here. There was a mishap in the shop that caused a small fire. The teens managed to handle it on their own without needing any help. Once the situation was under control, they called and asked us to come and check out what happened.

I just ordered more fire extinguishers.

Nancy - I suspect you look beautiful in pink today.

Nancy, that sounds so much like my reading, having several books going at once. A reading retreat sounds like a lovely day.

Kittykatt
, working with the historic aspect of a steam railroad line would be so rewarding, I would think. My late dh's cousin did that kind of volunteering and would love talking about it.

Twins', I really hadn't thought of it, but it's true that there would be some serious repetitive weight for a person to lift and swing in bowling. I hope he doesn't cause himself additional pain or trouble.

Thinking of Ramblin' and the dr not wanting her to lift weights right now, but heal awhile. Hope she's feeling better.

I sat listening to SO much telephone music trying to accomplish Desk Day. I still have another call to make tomorrow because I'd been given the wrong info at first and have to call a different location.

Like Elijah under the broom tree, all I have done since 4:00 pm is eat and sleep. However, since my "readiness" score on the sleep app this morning was 17, I guess I needed the sleep.

GOOD NEWS -- DS called later this afternoon to say the doctor had already called him! No signs of cancerous tumor or anything; doctor says the swelling is some sort of fatty tissue, and he will get DS an appointment with a surgeon. DS isn't sure he wants to have surgery. Apparently the only drawback to this issue is the appearance, and DS said if he has to choose between a swelling or a scar on his cheek/jaw, he might prefer to stay with the swelling. But he said he was willing to talk to the surgeon, so he will probably have an appointment next week after he gets back from this weekend's shows.

I took dmom to the doctor, then to the medical supply store to be measured for a back brace -- a Jewett back brace, which I just now Googled...
and * ugh * I don't think dmom realizes what sort of brace this is. It is a rigid type brace that apparently is going to limit her movements quite a bit, and MAY require a helper to put on and off! My goodness. It is not recommended to wear while driving. Shaking my head... OTOH, it may help keep her from becoming so stooped over and hunchbacked like one of her cousins.
Dmom and I both ate, and I left her at home.
I stopped at the shop where I had the radiator and water pump replaced, got itemized receipts for all repairs since January 1 -- explained to the young man who owns this shop that I just want to keep up with how much this vehicle is costing me for a while, so I'll know when it is better for me to consider trading.
Called DS, went to his house and got his truck. He and I loaded the bags of insulation and went to the the waste management office where they USED TO have a large dumpster. Nope... nearest dumpster now is at a store in nearby community, about 10-12 miles away. We went there. Had to make two trips because there were so many bags of insulation and ds' truck is a short bed with a toolbox taking up part of it.
Then he went to pick up dgrands and I went home and I began my nap and food series.

Since I woke up and felt rested finally, around midnight, I have exercised and went out to see if there were falling stars. I think it's too cloudy. But we haven't had any rain, and I think we need it.

Happy birthday to blessed's DD!

Maybe I can GMAT together tomorrow. DS said ddil will be able to drop off kids in the mornings while he's gone, and I will only have to do pick up.
Tomorrow is another day.
