Oh, I do remember that one, Kittykatt. The book was fun. I'm sure that it would make a good show. Part of the confusion is that she renamed some of her books and rereleased them, and for others she had different names in North America and Europe. But most of the confusion is just that she wrote so many good books that it is hard to keep them all straight.
I can't picture you being behind on decluttering and deep cleaning, with all of the work that you do. I confess that I have started asking myself "just what have you been doing with your retirement?" as the apartment doesn't look any better than when I started. So I decided to start tracking effort to ensure that I am putting in at least two hours of cleaning/decluttering per day. That seems reasonable to me. When you work, you're gone for 10 hours and you have maybe two hours for dinner/dishes/rest/hobbies before you go to bed, so I flip that in retirement. I think that should still lead to progress. But we can see from your lists every day that you are putting in a lot more effort than that. Is it possible that the list could be trimmed? Maybe space out some tasks with more time between them?

Trissie, I'm sorry about your Grandmother. It was good you were able to visit her in her last weeks.

I hope your shoulder starts to recover soon, CL. Do you think some very gentle physiotherapy might help?

Dogged, you're right and I need to prune my list. Some things have been on it for over 2 years and haven't got done so it looks like they're not going to get done any time soon! I also think the weather was so good in parts of September and October that I spent more time in the garden than usual, so I'm "ahead" with "putting the garden to be for winter". And, of course there was the week when Matilda had cystitis, and not a lot got done. I also need to remind myself that the "public " areas are all done, and, if necessary, I can just shut the doors on the rest when we have guests over the Christmas period! I guess it's my perfectionist tendencies showing, and the idea that as I don't have a job outside the home, then I should have a perfectly clean and tidy house.at all times, which with 2 humans and 3 cats is realistically going round be impossible even if I didn't have all the other activities I'm involved in. But, we also have too much stuff, which I'm trying to get under control, faster than DH can bring it in!

I've given upstairs its weekly clean, and also managed to clean off the top of DH's wardrobe, and clean some of the ceiling and wall in the bedroom, so that's progress. I'm now sitting on the sofa with Matilda on my lap, and thinking about going to bed.
