Kitty, good GF sweets are not uncommon! It's the non-sweet bread that's hard to make well. Dd30 has a recipe that is quite good.
We have that snow too, Smile. But we're heading toward the 50s this weekend, apparently. I won't complain. Poor G - but glad it's not cancer.
Maybe the schools here do something for Veterans' Day, Bama. I can't remember.
Hi Peaches.
I have a lot of mundane thing to choose from too, Doggedly.
How did it get to be almost 3 pm? I'm going to have some QT and then head to the gym next. I'll start cooking around 5:30. There is no mail today, so getting the snail mail bills in the mail today or tomorrow is the same thing.
My personal trainer cancelled for this week which means I have a totally open Thursday!
Next:
- some qt
- print out recipe
- change to exercise
- go to gym
Later:
- make the bed
- Kroger order??
- some qt?
- gym: exercise
- call tombstone Co.
- call optometrist; make appt.
- progress on Mem. T Yous
- tidy living areas
- 10 minutes decluttering?
- 6:30 - ? host MZ
- duolingo
- update health apps
TaDas!
- up; weighed self - back down.
- coffee
- email deletions + weather website
- payroll: posted a test review slide + some links for Ss
- payroll: reviewed reading exams
- checked on EMG - they are supposed to call me to schedule
- reclaimed kitchen
- laundry in basket: f and p/a
- s2s and self care
- squeegeed and wipe down shower
- gathered stuff and off to KS2J get together
- WF stop; put everything away
- lunch

Re: Turquoise Bay Tuesday @ TDD - C&C
Doggedly, the poppies you pin on your coats are very 'Commonwealth' too, I've seen them in the UK. Never tried to pin them on, maybe you can use a different pin after you purchase it ? I find those ceremonies moving too, even a simple one like here in our small town. I have seen larger ones before, for instance in Paris, but still, there's something moving with everyone standing in silence and the flags flapping in the wind... And they usually play this very short trumpet call, a few sad chords, it's called "Aux Morts" (to the Fallen) and it always gives me the shivers.
helia, wtg having a very productive day. I can't not encourage you to cook leeks. If you don't feel courageous enough to slice and dice the whole plant, maybe in the US you can purchase only the white part? In France you can find either the white bit, or the whole leek (white cylinder and green leafy part). Much easier to clean and dice the white only, for a first try.
Smile, nice to know your dear G doesn't have colon cancer !! loved the pics you shared a few days ago, what a wonderful spot.
Bama, good luck with the cold.
kittykatt WTG with the cleaning, glad the vet appt went well for all.
L.Ann I'm curious about the recipe at your DD's cooking lesson.
Quiet afternoon and evening. Kids go to daycare tomorrow (no school on Wednesdays), I work, MrNG has a meeting day at his internship place. It was nice to have a day off. No break till Christmas, and even then, for me it will be one or two days I think. Fortunately MrNG will be home with the kids when they're off school for 2 weeks.
TADAs
lunch : leek and feta pie, chocolate mousse
cleanup, quiet time
DS7 went to play at DNeighbours' A-- and Z--, bless their parents
mostly, things from would-like-to-do list
MrNG cooked dinner, we ate
bedtime stories and lights out
quiet time for me
Brain dump :
I really need to figure out present ideas for MrNG, both his birthday and Christmas : he's the hardest to shop for.
Also decide what kind of birthday party we do for DS9.Both birthdays the week before Christmas week.

Re: Turquoise Bay Tuesday @ TDD - C&C
My brain isn’t “braining” today so I apologize for not commenting on posts. I strayed from my routines over the weekend and it’s taking time to get them back. I’ll do better tomorrow.
Done:
Bible
Weigh
Breakfast
Dust
Vacuum
Spot clean floors, new rug
Litter
Pets fed inside, outside cats and turkey fed
Pets given fresh water - inside and outside, lots of bowls washed and refilled
Medicated George, he’s looking better (neighbors cat who likes moms porch and looks like something got his face, messaged the neighbor and let them know but they haven’t responded and I can’t leave him without care)
Filled bird feeders our yard and moms yard
Walked dogs
Played ball with Beau
Unloaded dw
Cleaned out fridge, wiped shelves
Yay - found roast and veg aka supper
Tossed Greek yogurts - we can’t like them no matter how hard we tried
Found Mexican Coke and treating myself now
Opened a couple of packages and put away items or put on shelf to deal with later
Cleaned ceiling fans, walls, and windows of spider webs and dust
Brushed Toby, Jeremy
Do:
Dailies
Monthlies
Water plants

Hello, everyone!
Re fixing poppies in places, I use one of those gold coloured safety pins - much less vicious!
Smilelee, I'm glad there's nothing too serious wrong with DG!
FFB, we have the "last post" during our remembrance ceremonies, which cam be played on trumpet, horn, bagpipes or organ, depending on location.
I'm impressed you're wrapping Christmas presents already, L.Ann!
Bama, the school ceremonies sound very nice - what's ROTC?
Yay for a totally open Thursday, Helia!
Hi, Peaches!
I'm finally sitting down. The sitting room is clean and tidy, DH is at his choral society, and I e taken advantage of the house to myself to clean and declutter the bookcase on our bedroom. I think it could do with a bit more decluttering- I'll have another look tomorrow - but at least it's all clean and back on the shelves so I can get into bed tonight!
Oh, and I've found Freddie's vaccination certificate ready for his appointment next week.
Dogged, I'm definitely hiding this advice from Freddie! (Sorry, Germane!) At the moment he's pretty reliable about using the litter trays, and is content with just a "Good Boy!" if I happen to be around. I dont want to risk being held to ransom!Doggedly wrote: Tue Nov 11, 2025 12:59 pm Germane wants him to know that if he manages his people properly, he can get treats for simply going to the bathroom. Her human seems to place a weirdly high value on this activity.

I am pretty sure this is the recipe FFB. https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/13509 ... foldovers/ It is a class over zoom for adults with disabilities so they try to pick easy to make recipes that work in 45-60 minutes. Kitty, I had to search what the letters stood for so here’s the copy/paste explanation (it says college but it’s offered for high school students as well and they perform at a lot of functions)
Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) is a leadership training and development program that prepares full-time, college-enrolled students for service opportunities in the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force and Space Force (the Coast Guard offers a similar program called the College Student Pre-Commissioning Initiative.

Hey, Bama! My brain doesn't want to "latch" some days, too. It's just popping too much all over the place to comment individually. Nice that you have parades. I would enjoy that.
L.Ann ~ folderovers look good!
helian ~ 50's here, too, on the weekend. nice!
waving to Dogged, kitty, peach, FFB!
Paper poppies were very common when I was growing up. You couldn't go anywhere that someone wasn't handing them out - usually in conjunction with fund raising for a vet/service charity. I hadn't realized that they just gradually died out. Not sure if I've even seen on in the last ten years - maybe longer.
G has cameras up at the NC house. Today, we saw the fireplace and lower level stone delivered - and they started on the entry stairs off the deck. On the one hand, I'm excited about the changes. On the other, all the work is quite overwhelming.
Fixed salads for lunch, finished up exercise, took a nap.
Off to the shower......

Thank you for the explanation, Bama, It sounds very similar to our OTC and cadets.
The new house sounds very exciting, Smilelee!
I'm in bed now, so see everyone tomorrow. Night night!
