Re: Health and Fitness June, 2024
I am going for step goal of 52500 steps for the week. That's an average of 7500 a day. I exceeded that this week when my goal was 7K average daily, but this next week I'll be tied to a desk more. I need to be up early to walk the ddog to.
Yesterday I realized I hadn't updated my weight spreadsheet since 1 January so I did that too. I'm up three lbs from 1 January but I had some lower numbers later in January. Sobering activity, but not surprising given my lack of activity with vacations on either end. For now, need to eat and drink mindfully, and curb tendency to snack mindlessly next week. I just looked at the menu for dinner out this p.m. and may order a salad or a salad and appetizer.
Getting back to workouts will help too.

Re: Health and Fitness June, 2024
I’ve been eating right although I did have a single scoop of vanilla ice cream in my coffee at my dinner Friday night. Didn’t get all my water or steps in.
I weigh every Monday morning and measure my body as well. Need to make another card to keep track of what my body is doing. My stomach is bloated although I don’t eat gassy foods. Started taking my digestive meds and probiotics to see if that helps. I don’t drink and carbonated sodas or special waters and have cut down on dairy

I am 3/4 of a pound away from my diet bet goal and a week to do it. Just need to stay focused and keep doing what I’m doing.
Btw.. I just joined the next game. The game I’m in now ends on July first and the next one start July 6… need to keep my eye on the dress

Did met my goal of over 10,000 steps 3x last week.
This week that and a bit more stretching is my goal.
I can try to use my stand up desk too.
-----
Mon. Walked done by 6:30 apx. Got 10,001 steps in.
Tues. Walked earlier today yea. Stretching was picking up twigs to go in the can this morning. v-8 with bfast. steps done by 1:00 p.m. Went out in the pm and hand sawed some branches up to fit in five gal bucket for fire pit this fall.
Wed. I was 49 steps shy of the 10,000 goal note to self check before going to bed.
Thurs, On our walk saw 2 deer! Got the 10,000 steps plus at least the 49 extra for the day before.
Fri. walked early and have 98% of my steps in by one p.m. got my 10,00 + steps in.
Sat. We have walked.
Harriet will want to know this. I Had a v-8 mid morning today.
Got some sweet potato fries, they would be good for breakfast as well as a sp tater tot casserole.

Nancy… I believe I did the same. Stretching is good and I try to do some most days. I will have to admit if I wasn’t doing my 8:00 class I would be out walking too when it’s cooler. However on the days I don’t go to class, I could walk, but I have IBS so I can’t get too far away from home until my bowels have emptied. If that happens when I wake up, I could walk, but it’s always a worry for me.
There are plenty of big bushes around if you know what I mean, but early in the morning so are a lot of people. If I go when it gets dark the bugs attack me so I am forced to wear bug spray but I hate that stuff!

I stayed on my eating plan and drank all my water. Between my class and working around the house I was able to get in 8.5K steps in. Tried on some clothes that I haven't been able to wear in a while and found that they fit! Thats a NSV for me. I have a few other dresses I'd like to wear, one perhaps to the wedding rehearsal I will be attending. So more motivation for me. Just trying to stay focused on my diet bet for next Monday. Dont want to do anything that will mess it up

I am 1.4 lbs BELOW my diet bet goal! I am so proud of me because I’ve been working so hard to stay focused and it hasn’t been easy to get the scale to move. So far this month I’ve lost 7.5 lbs since I started at the beginning of the month.
My next game doesn’t start till July 6, but I am thing about joining another game that starts July 1 so I can stay focused and on track
When I started using diet bet several years ago they didn’t have a maintaining game to play. Now they do. I’m excited about that because it’s easy to let my weight sneak back up. Excluding the weight I gained due to meds, this is what happened to me the last time. When I first discovered this game I lost 20lbs and won almost $300. I’ll be glad to to join the maintenance once I meet my final goal, but I still have a long ways to go.

Ate right, got in all my water…still a struggle for me…but only had 8+k counters steps. Sure I made over 10k steps because my watch doesn’t count steps when I push my grocery cast and I had to charge my watch for a while early afternoon.
Had a NSV … I wore a pair of shorts I haven’t been able to wear in 2 years! Won’t get on my scale till tomorrow. I know how my weight fluctuates so I don’t want to get too focused and loose my motivation. Most of the time I wait and weigh once a week, but I’m too close to the end of the game so I want to keep
A close eye on it.
Nancy… your deck sounds lovely and a perfect way to start your day.
Twins.. seems like you’re picking up where you left off before your surgery. Good for you
LadyM… Attagirl for getting your morning walk in. I’m sure it’s making a difference for you.

Nancy, what other veggies do you have in breakfast meal? Good job including zucchini while it's available.
Ramblin', you are doing great. And bringing clothing items back into the wardrobe is super.
LadyM, the record-keeping is so impressive. Happy for you with your good week.
Twins', you're vacationing, being busy, all while doing the big work of healing.
At kidney dr today, HRH was finally released for more than 6 months at a time. In fact, he'll only see the doctor a year from now next time, with just a blood draw between. Dr wrote notes on the sheet of test/markers (there are 11 of those), which show HRH in the column of just stage 2 (there are 5 and 2 is considered "mild to moderate").
Dr's scribbles are encouraging:
"urine - no blood
kidneys better
urine protein good
Doing Great!"
I know it sounds boring to say there is no blood in the urine, but for someone who's a kidney patient that is actually unusual. I'm not sure we've gotten to hear that since the problems started. He weighed 5 pounds less in 6 months, on top of 5 pounds the previous 6, even had 124/80 bp with white coats all around, lol.
Relief, then. Wonderful to be "off the hook" for a year. Wish I could say he feels well all the time - he doesn't, it varies. Still, the worry abates when there's a good appt, and that's probably worth a lot for feeling well, because you just generally feel relieved.
