10k steps, 1100 calories, 70ozs water, 12 ozs coffee, 12 ozs tea, 2 walking video total for 48 minutes.

I’m doing a 28 day walking challenge where I have to do at least one video a day. The videos are 16-24 minutes long and I can choose what I want. I can also do as many as I want. Actually it’s doing walking movements in place and very similar to what I do in class. However some of the movement are more aggressive, which I like, and I can tell they are working cause my stomach muscles are sore.

OH WOW! What a wonderful inspiring place to come and see what can be accomplished. Congratulations on your successes.

I'm hanging in there. Today is 225 days of consistently logging my food. This is an achievement I have never reached before.

My name is LM
I am a carb addict.

I struggle BIG TIME when I have a slip to get back on track. I had several days last week when I was unsuccessfully trying to restrain the carb cravings. Every day the teens have foods that are a temptation for me. Most of the time I am successful in leaving it alone....but the moment I slip up it is a big dang deal to get the craving monster back under control. I could eat an entire bag of potato chips. I could eat an entire pizza by myself. Once the boundary is broken it is a disaster for me mentally and physically.

Yesterday was a success. I am going to try for another successful day today.

What is working for me.....focus on protein and vegetables. Instead of telling myself that I can't have pizza, biscuits, desserts, etc I focus on what I can have. I tell myself once I hit 100+ grams of protein & 8 servings of vegetables then I'll make a decision about what else to eat. When i follow this simple boundary then i am successful....most of the time.

LadyM… I am addicted to carbs too. Yesterday bought a fresh loaf of French bread to go with my dinner for my kids. I LOVE bread!!! Ate more than a little.. I could eat the entire loaf. My tummie was iffy and bread helps. I ended up eating some of the bread but not much else for the day so I was ok with it. However I still have some bread left over and after staring at it for a few minutes I put in thrash!

I haven’t weighed yet but I am wearing jeans I haven’t been able to fit in so I’m happy about that and I ate a peanut butter and jelly sandwich I made for lunch. It was under 190 calories and was delish!!!

I have had two successful days in a row.
Successful = hitting protein goal and 8 helpings of vegetables. That is the only way I have found to reach the RDA for all of 84 vitamins & minerals.

I am going to try for another successful day. It isn't easy and those choices and decisions get tiring. The craving monster can be strong and relentless. However, I sure do love the feeling of elation that I experience when waking up in the morning and realize that 24 hours of good decisions have happened.

Yesterday I had to attend a luncheon where I was served a taco salad in a shell. I ate half including the shell and took the rest home for dinner. I enjoyed every single bite!

In recovery yesterday, I learned that everyone is given the same refrigerated recovery meal. A turkey deli slice on sandwich bread with packaged condiments and baked potato chips. At first, when I assumed I was being told about several choices, I said I was vegetarian and waited. Nope. So, then I felt bad for saying it. No advice for that except that one nurse helpfully said the turkey was "just laid on there". There was no lettuce, no cheese, and no applesauce available or anything like that. So, I had a mustard and mayo sandwich of very fresh bread with potato chips. And honestly, I'd been without food long enough that it was delish!

It does make you crave bread, though, when you have it with first meal. I had that feeling through the day. I wonder how toast was a usual part of breakfast for so many very slim folks during my youth. With butter and jelly, no less.

Day #3 of consecutive good eating choices happened. I had my eating goals & boundaries established and was busy so there were minimum moments to consider possible cravings.
Now that I have passed the first 3 days of carb withdrawal, I expect the craving monsters to weaken.

Last night I reviewed my daily vitamin & mineral amounts before closing out the day of eating. I noticed I was short in Vitamin K. I had only eaten 62% of the RDA. The easiest way for me to solve that is to eat some spinach. I logged 100g of spinach and closed out the day. This morning when I started the new day of logging in cronometer, I realized I forgot to eat the spinach. I know this sounds incredibly detailed and may be a bit obsessive. I have spent years of taking classes, research and learning to reach this point in knowing how to add/remove whole food ingredients to reach RDA. It feels like a game and brings me joy to do it.

:D Fact - I am happy with my progress on knowing how to use foods to reach RDA of 84 mineral & vitamins.
 Fact - I am not giving equal focus & effort to moving my body. Ya'll wouldn't believe how few steps i can take in a day.

Today goals -
Another day of good eating. 40% protein. 100% RDA of mineral/vitamins
MOVE MY BODY
