I went and listened to Aux Morts FrenchFly. It is very moving.

We can't change the pin. People tried replacing it with a safety pin in the 1980s, and also with a small poppy pin (also bought in support of the Royal Canadian Legion) but the Legion decided that is disrespectful. They are the official distributors of the poppies. They don't sell them as such; they take a donation for them. We can't wear a poppy to show respect and then change the pin to show disrespect, so Canadians just go around meekly stabbing ourselves.

That's fair, Kittykatt. If our pets start colluding against us, all is lost.
