Hello, all. I am having a wonderful and hope that you are too. My df picked me up and we met another df for lunch. This is a df of my df, whom I have met once before and really liked. We all went to the concert together, and it was great. I was familiar with the program that the city puts on but not the band, whereas my dfs had heard the band before and love them. Needless to say, we all had a great time. We have tentative plans for later in the month.
After my df drove me home, I walked Germane. It's the mildest day in a while, so she enjoyed her walk.

Thank you for another seaworthy start, trissie. If we have a beach by a river, we can have riparian entertainments like Hyacinthe Bucket.

Went out with friends: lunch out, then an afternoon concert, followed by reception

Smile, looks like you’re in close proximity to every state surrounding you, how cool to go sightseeing at a whim. Also nice to get in a lot of unexpected social time, now you can enjoy some alone time for balance.

I know everyone has been waiting on pins and needles so here it is, we had bologna sandwiches and satsumas for supper. Not satisfying but it will hold me over until breakfast.

We finished opening funeral cards last evening.
Death certificates arrived today.
I wrote 17 acknowledgment cards tonight - some are going to elderly friends who have moved to different cities and may not have heard. I ordered extra bulletins and smaller folders to send to these people.
We're still eating funeral leftovers. I called a df whose husband is in rehab, and is recvering from a severe fall and associated injuries, to come and share our bounty. She has spent so much of her life with him the past 6 weeks. I thought she would like a change fo pace, and not have to cook. She described our lives at the moment as parallel crises.

Also, new monitoring system was installed at my house. I have smoke, freeze, and water (think catch a water heater leak) monitors. Had to get all new, because the technology has changed enough that my system from 2009 no longer communicates with the central office. $1000 later...... I think it's terriblethat they can change the technology to m ake the older system obsolete to require a whole new system. Grrr, but what am I going to do??? I continue to have it, because about 10-12 years ago, I was at my sister's house, 1200 miles away, when I got a call that the water heater was leaking. I was able to call my neighbor to please turn off the water. My son set up fans when he came home from hunting, and everything was dry when I go home and there was no damage. Can you imagine what my basement would have been like if the water heater had spewed water for a week until I got home???? We had a furnace go out at the cabin, and caught it before the pipes froze.
