LadyM, I think I'd be depressed with so much broth. How does it increase your energy?

I did the Zepbound injection this a.m. Dfriend said last night that she was envious that I could get it prescribed. She has BMI similar to mine but no HBP or diabetes.

Twins… hope you have great success with your new meds.

Everything is still going great. Will be a challenge for the next week as we are staying in a hotel so most of our meals will be out. Do have a fridge and microwave in the room so that will help.

Home also means all our favorite foods will be there.. pizza and hot dogs just to name a few. On the bright side, if it doesn’t rain we will be doing lots of walking.

Off to make my oatmeal

How does it increase your energy?
I'm not exactly sure. My best guess is...
** it is high in protein and easy for the body to process.
** drinking warm liquid feels comforting
** elimination of other foods. It might not have anything to do with drinking bone broth but instead by not consuming food that is not optimal for my body.
I can't point to a reason it is working, only the awareness that it is. Each day my energy level increases and my brain fog decreases.

I am slowly going toward an ingredient type of food prep. I prep single ingredients and have them ready to combine as desired. This allows me to easily know how a food ingredient affects me.
I don't have a long range game plan with this way of eating. I am just being aware and trending toward what make my body feel good and away from food ingredients that has proven itself to cause my body problems.

I hit 143 days of continuously logging my food today (I started logging July 5th). A long time ago I logged foods for that many days in a row but there is a big difference. This time my focus is being as honest as I can with logging exactly what I eat. I want accurate macro & micro nutritional data so have to be brutally honest with myself in actually logging the truth. I still choose to weigh almsot everything on the food scale in grams. I like knowing.

Nancy, that is great! I'm not even tracking these days, especially since I'm not working out either.

No noted side effects or results of injection yesterday, so far. I'll do the next one on Friday a.m., before we leave. As long as they're three days apart it's okay. The pen needs refrigeration, and I don't want to travel with it anyway.

I am slowly climbing back into my previously successful TAKE CARE OF MYSELF habits. It is challenging to get restarted! I keep reminding myself to make progress and not expect perfection.

Do you play games to challenge your mental abilities? I would love to hear what games or activities that you have found useful or just fun.

I am currently using these on most days -
Sudoku. Sometimes I challenge myself to do the expert level and other days I just do the easy level to quickly get it accomplished.
Dual-n-back. This is a new discovery for me. It was recommended for improving memory. It is quick to do several sessions a day.

Ugh. LadyM, is it possible that you might have hooked me on Sudoku?

But it's good for my brain!

I do Sudoko on occasion, also do color sort which is moving like color balls into their correct tubes.

Trying to keep my eating simple while on vacation. Got in plenty of steps yesterday and made good choices with my food.

Just at my breakfast … eggs and link sausage, but today I know my favorite hot dog and sauerkraut with mustard is in my future

I am studying a type of exercise and a video I own but have never paid much attention to before - Finger and Foot Fitness. My video is physical therapy exercises by Teresa Tapp. For the hands you can do these anywhere, for the feet a lot is floor work, but some is just in a chair and do-able. Keeping hands and feet moving during the treatments I will receive can help to keep neuropathy away. There is another school of thought that you could wear cold gloves/cold toe covers and your circulation will not extend to those areas so much during that time. But Dr. doesn't agree with that theory and I'm not going to do something she really doesn't recommend.

I'm also studying the lowering of calories for the days surrounding treatment. The idea is that regular cells of the body all listen to the brain when it tells them to conserve energy because there isn't as much fuel. Those obedient cells get less active, in theory allowing better targeting of the treatments against cells that are not well-behaved, lol. Interesting but not as much proof for my type as other types. But whether much help in that way at all, just eating smaller amounts helps digestive upset in general.

I tend to want some kind of product coming out of leisure activity, so puzzling out sewing or creative things suits me better.
