You do have a cooler climate, Lauralind. I'm on U.S. zone 8a for gardening. In the Between two trips this spring (since 30 March) and my usual attention to many other things, I haven't planted anything yet. This week perhaps? I need more garden soil (ddog has dug there, and pulling out zinnias/tomatoes last year left holes too.) Need to buy tomato plants, although I feel reassured that they won't be too far behind since we're having cooler weather here right now. We had torrential rain one afternoon last week - local flooding that overwhelmed the runoff systems - but water receded fast apparently. The outdoor rug on my screened porch is soaked still.

Yeah I'm technically zone 3 I think. And a weird area. Up in the north of Alberta where dd is it's a longer warmer growing season than here.

Wonder what I have get done outside tomorrow. Today we got a good rain.

Today I've weeded two fence sections & swept seeds.

I guess I didn't actually make an outside list. Oh well. I finished one big project. Well two I guess. The flowerbed. And I just finished raking the backyard. Casper territory. From winter and that's the worst of the thick leaves from a few big trees back there.

Next? Actually decide what to do with the garden/ greenhouse.

Bought some plants two toms. & one lav. and a curly kale.
Not much room left for planting here now.

Weeded some of the iris bed in the front yard.

I edged the bed I weeded earlier.

Dh planted the tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and zucchini today. I planted catnip seeds yesterday.
Dh planted seed this past Saturday. (green and yellow beans, peas and radishes)

I planted one more tomato.

used the hoe to weed specific plants out.

My garden is currently on the cusp between spring and summer, with the spring flowers still doing well and the summer flowers just starting. I'm enjoying these few days of just being able.to enjoy my garden, before the spring stuff goes over and will need to be taken out, the gaps in the borders mulched and the summer pots put in place.

We live on the side of a hill that was leveled off - we have a little topsoil and chert (hard, rock, compacted soil) underneath. I just don't have the energy to try to dig in enough to plant, except for my raised beds. And it's so wet I haven't been able to do anything otherwise. Dh bought some topsoil for the beds and put the bags on top of the raised beds so they soaked up rain all day yesterday. They'll be heavy and soggy, as will the soil underneath.

And I need to prune up the azaleas now that they have bloomed. The ones on the side with more shade grow like crazy and last year the yard people decided, mid July, to prune them for me.
