Who needs to clear off their desk today? This week?
Some of you are just too organized to need this, so maybe you can give the rest of us some tips on how to keep it cleared.

The only way my desk will get cleared is with a shovel and maybe a pick ax!
When dh was working at the tire store, his desk was always cleared before 5 p.m. Of course anything with an invoice was stapled to any paperwork and immediately taken to the front desk for the office manager to deal with.
Part of my problem is that I tend to pile, not file and then when I need to file, I have to sort out the pile. Currently I have files going back many years all neatly filed on a shelf to my left. All of those should go into the file drawer in the library. I also have a stack nearly 12 inches high that needs to be sorted and then put in the files. Thankfully I am totally up to date with my tases, so it isn't a huge file because I actually need any of it... I just have to go through that tall pile and make it into smaller piles, then put those tiny piles into the files they need to be in. I know I will be tossing some of it as I go. My garbage can for the desk is empty and ready to get filled.
Now that the rest of house appears to be very clean, I feel that it is perfect timing for me to get the desk and table cleared. I have to "massive" folding table set up in the library, so I will be moving everything out of the office/pantry into the library/storage room today.
Dh is up. Time for coffee and hot chocolate.

I was up pretty promptly at 7 this morning, have piddled and done some things since. A.m. routine is underway. Out of the house I am going to workout, go by jewelers (pick up bracelet I left on Thursday to be fixed) and need to go by Lowes. Right now the dog is demanding a walk, so I need to change out of pajamas and go.

Hi Twins' Mom! I was wide awake at 5 a.m.!! I decided that I had to be dressed all the way to shoes before 9 a.m.
PSW is coming at 10:30. today and 10:45 tomorrow. We have the Occupational Therapist coming tomorrow around 1 p.m. for a house inspection. I want the house to be clean. Therefore I couldn't sleep once I woke up this morning.
The island is clean and clear, other than what is supposed to be on there (bread, toaster, cutting board, compost bin)
I have even moved most of the paperwork and I've been working on sorting and labeling files.
Dh has been sleeping soundly on the couch/sofa since he finished his coffee.

The office week begins today for my decluttering, although that may just be me since I do decluttering ahead of cleaning and "office or other room" is next week's cleaning Focus. But, Cathy, you couldn't have landed on a better "National Day" for me. Up at the top of my planner page for the week, I had written "office" in my declutter space.
If the sink might be a starting point for getting ahold of a kitchen, the desktop might be the one for getting ahold of an office.

I resemble that remark, Cathy!
Trying to squeeze in a quick post here before taking DC to school. They've gotten themselves up and dressed, had breakfast, and packed a lunch, all before time to go -- so much better than last semester.
My attempts to do laundry yesterday failed. I went down to flip it, and the washer was full of water. I got the agitator going again, but when I checked again, it was again not going and full of water. I shall have to babysit it later and find out when it fails.
DC is just about packed, so I will go. I hope to be back later. Have a great day, everyone!

Good morning
I am in hour #3 of my day and so far everything has been smooth. 91 cards completed which might sound like a lot but they are small tasks that are grouped together so I can work through them quickly and efficiently. I try not to forget, but inevitably I always miss a few things, so I circle back and get them done. It helps to have an hourly check-in with myself.
Clean off your desk isn't happening here. Maybe someday I will be able to do that, but for now I'm thankful to have a huge old fashioned roll top desk that covers all the stuff. I am working through the ridiculous amounts of backlogged paperwork each day. I try to process 9 papers a day. ,,,checking spreadsheet....I have been doing 9 papers a day for 157 days now. That is 1413 paper decisions made! WOW! That surprises me to see that number of papers I've worked through is so big. I can't face doing papers if i look at the big backlog because it seems too overwhelming. My hope is eventually small consistent efforts makes a difference. Maybe someday i can get caught up on paperwork....dreaming.

Yes, small consistent efforts!
Since I received ordered checks on Friday I wrote two checks and got envelopes to the mailbox. Also went online and figured out how to close my CPA registration with the state. It hasn't cost me anything to keep it open as inactive or retired, but I just figured that I wouldn't have the bother of renewing every other year going forward. I've also dealt with paper in my little stack of active stuff I keep by my computer downstairs. Things tend to get to the bottom and then sit, so that stack is much smaller now. Finished a.m. routine except for washing my face and doing lotion. I was in bathroom and roomba, which is running wanted to come in and vacuum. Our towels washed and rehung.

My Desk is good but I've been stalling on writing out a new budgeting sheet for going forward for this new year.
That's on my mind.
Thankful for the kitchen being in order.
Do you get cranky when it's not?
After talking to some one on the phone yesterday it was
really bothering that person to have to deal with hand washing dishes & cleaning up the kitchen
said it was taking an hour. For just one or two people it's sounding like ocd to me.
I like the 15 min. card and timer mine only take 6 min.
That is the beauty of routines!
I've rounded up the trash and got the first 1/4 of the steps in for today.
LM thanks for sharing that weaving set up vid.
I used to have a loom like that then got other models.
Table top 4 harness loom and 4 harness floor loom.
