Anti Procrastination Wednesday PWYC

"It turns out procrastination is not typically a function of laziness, apathy or work ethic as it is often regarded to be. It’s a neurotic self-defense behavior that develops to protect a person’s sense of self-worth.

You see, procrastinators tend to be people who have, for whatever reason, developed to perceive an unusually strong association between their performance and their value as a person. This makes failure or criticism disproportionately painful, which leads naturally to hesitancy when it comes to the prospect of doing anything that reflects their ability — which is pretty much everything."
—David Cain
True or false in your case? For me, it's lack of clarity on where to start, which is when the David Allen Getting Things Done approach comes in...what's the first step?

Today is a day to tackle those projects!

Sitting in waiting room while Dh is getting his ultrasound. The 45 minute drive here was a bit stressful with heavier traffic and road construction that required a 4 mile detour. Alls well that ends well..

After leaving here I'm going for a quick shopping trip to find window treatment for DD14 new bedroom. It has 2 big windows that face the street so I want them more private than they current are. I'm not sure if will end up with blinds or drapes. I just need it to happen.

Sorry the driving was stressful this a.m. LadyM. Appointment was early, then? Great on getting dd's room moved, hope she's happy once it's done. Give her a fresh start too!

I misjudged the timing for the webinar this a.m., thought it was at ten a.m. but it's at eleven. So I have 45 minutes until then. I'm upstairs, but going back down to finish a.m. routine and I'll bring my breakfast/brunch up then.

Dh was frustrated that I asked him to put his laptop away. It was sitting out in the great room on the footstool, and it's only a hop and skip to the floor where he'll park it. He fussed that I'm always asking him to put things away - and my laptop sits out all the time downstairs. The deal is that he took it out because he needed the infrared massager that was underneath it - not because he used it. I use my laptop all.the.time.

I have a sore wrist today so need to pause writing for a bit.
Up at 5:00 after laying in bed for 1/2 hr. before that.
I have the anti.P task done did that on Mon. or when ever natl. clean off your desk day was.
I did up the budget page to use for an example in a new note book this year.

I've done the basement walk about.
Put mini blueberry muffins & half of the cheddar cheese dogs that I'd flash frozen last nite in the freezer down stairs.

Finally feel like I'm getting back on track with my goals set ups and can actually use those pages now yea!
That was a bit of a challenge time wise forgot how long it actually takes.

Working on the last 2 cotton yarn projects also taking longer than before.
I've been slowing down on purpose however.
I did bag & bring up the mistake yarns that were not what I wanted to be de-cluttered as I know
I'll not be using those.

Got my cranberry juice ready for the next two days as I forgot it yesterday. Drank it too.
Hydration reminder.
Happy to find the tape back in stock, I use it when hands / fingers crack and are sore.
Ddoggo is not shedding nearly as much now yea!
No longer having to vacuum Liv. room 2x a day yea!
Robins are chirping on my walks and in my yard I can hear them now.
-----
Heard coyotes this morning before day lite.
I've made my bed.
Gotten dressed as well.
Had bfast.
Read a chapter.
Dumped trash.
Vacuumed living room.
Done to here.
Did anti P. task took down the wreath and took ihe live greenery off of it to save the wire base.

Waving to everyone.

Good morning, LadyM! Thanks for starting us off. Peeking in quickly; I need to leave in about ten minutes. I knocked a few things off my list yesterday.

Also got DC at least looking up some doctors. They really need to see somebody. Not only did they miss their last physical (they wrote the day down wrong), but they have a cyst (at least I hope it’s just a cyst) growing at their hairline. They call it their “unicorn horn,” but I think they should be more concerned. Anyhow, the doctor they had seen is booked up, so I suggested they look for someone else. Since they have no other doctor (other than their psychiatrist, who is not connected with any hospital), they can look in both major hospital systems here, but I’m rooting against the Clinic because their main campus is so huge. OTOH, the hospital nearest us is a CC hospital, so maybe they could have surgery there. I miss the days before the hospitals all consolidated.

Well, there goes the alarm to take them! Be back soon! Bye!

Waving to Twins, blessed, and Nancy!

Hi!

I've been in and out of bed all morning. Just reading or sleeping. I'm fine, just trying to unwind and take it easy for the day. Between all the cleaning I did on the weekend and 2 appointments on Monday and 2 yesterday, I was super stressed and I certainly felt it in my shoulder muscles by the time I went to bed last night.

At least I posted before noon! LOL!

Dh doesn't want to go anywhere or do anything today.

Mystery what is a CC Hospital?

Home from trip to the city.

While there we ate breakfast at a place we have always enjoyed. Today however we both found the food lacking when compared to cooking our breakfast at home. We reaffirmed our desire to eat most of our meals at home. Beside the taste of the food, the price to eat out was about 4 times more costly. 2 eggs, hash brown and cottage cheese would cost me under $5 at home. It was bumping $20 eating out. Ohs well. If the quality and taste matched or exceeded homecooked, I wouldn't care about the cost. But lower quality at 4x the cost ain't my jam! climbing off my soap box while acknowledging this is only my opinion

I kept DD14 bedroom window treatment super easy. There were already double rods with decorative ends mounted above the windows, so I just grabbed some grommet curtain panels. They are blackout so make the room dark or pulled the panels back with the sheers remaining on the 2nd rod. ANYway, it is done.

After being out-and-about for 3 hours, I am ready to jump back into my hourly check-ins routine and get some things done here.

And I just closed the webinar here, which was still going. I think they exceeded their time but it's all okay.

Trying to decide what to do next...

DD49 arrived and is working to move all of DD14 stuff to her new bedroom/bathroom/walk-in closet. I told DD49 if she needed or wanted help that we are available, otherwise we are staying out of her way.

It just dawned on me the last couple of days that DH has started snacking instead of eating lunch/dinner. Snacking = Wheat thins, honey buns, cookies = all high processed carbs with nothing healthy or nutritious. Thinking....it might be necessary for me to start preparing him a plate lunch and supper. I want to observe & be more aware before i start making changes that adds more on me.
