Stronger Than You Seem Sunday

January 18 is National Winnie the Pooh Day in U.S., observed since 1986 on the birthday of A. A. Milne. Winnie-the-Pooh was named after a Canadian bear called Winniepeg, who lived at the London Zoo, where author Milne and his son, Christopher Robin Milne, visited.
Many pearls of wisdom came from the books about the silly old bear. One often quoted is:
“You’re braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” - A. A. Milne
Homemakers are known for suddenly showing bravery, strength and lots of smarts!
We are Calming Influencers in our homes and lives.
How will your Sunday be braver, stronger and smarter than you might think?

I changed the heading on my post today bc that's what I read when I first came in! LOL!
My team won last nite in the playoff game I did watch it.
I have a bit of a cough this morning will be staying in today.
We still have cold fog / clouds here today.
My writing is to learn and to process some issues with the farm it's a ranch setting.
Used to luv L. Lamaour books when I was a teen!
Scene & character cards will be my next "until" of study there are yt vids. on that I'll be watching next.
I have 17 chapters they are short except one very long one that needs to be in shorter sections, sigh...
My last journal from 2025 is nearly full so excited to start a new one! Let the word games begin LOL!
All I have done is take Rx make coffee & bed. Up by 6:33 late for me calling it sleeping in!
Not sure how much I'll do could use a rest day I suppose.

Nancy, lol, I'm glad your team won and gave you a little something different to concentrate on while doing so much writing. It's good to take a mental break and have a fun time.
I had a good night's sleep but HRH didn't. He just couldn't settle during the early hours last night and had me wandering through the house looking for him about 2:30. Neither of us could figure out what he'd done to deserve it! So I'm being quiet this morning!
Last evening I got the next/current project up onto the design wall and it is a little intimidating. Math. But I have a trusty 3x5 card to the rescue, pinned there as well, with previous subtractions and additions shown, that I hope will make sense to me! Tape measure at the ready.
Being brave! (hopefully smarter than I seem) Soon time to actually cut something, but I'll give myself grace until after dd27's visit.
Have the link to the upcoming worship service ready. Missed prayer meeting and was disappointed, but I can get back to that.
I do have an insistent cat at my feet at the moment, attempting to control me mentally. bbl

Hi! Hopefully I can get a post or two here today. I lost 2 different posts last night.
LucyLee the other day there were numerous posts on our FBook page regarding not being able to access this site.
Fingers crossed that this goes through.

Having a "class" getting a list of how to write a novel / scene cards etc.
Is playing now for me.
More coffee w/ whipped cream ...
got out the book I have that was recommended and the part to look at I have it here.
aka home work! LOL!
I wrote this current project with-out an out line no scene cards; just from live experience & ideas; and
now I'm trying to lean into that pre writing process now, only it's after the fact.
I'm calling what I do my intuitive process. aka discovery writing.

Thank you for the interesting start Harriet!
I have the long-awaited cemetery board meeting at the temple today. Not looking forward to it honestly because the guy who is chair is so inept, Need to keep it moving because there's only an hour. And the woman "in charge" of this secret project is very long winded in coming to the point so we need her to get to the point. We need to see $$ and plans. And approve payment of the bill which we received which is for 1/2 of the cost, however.
I have beef barley stew going in the crockpot. Perfect day for it because high is only to be around 40 degrees.
I've updated a to do list for the week and moved a couple of things to daily or weekly routines.
Nancy, it's great you are learning new things. That's one thing I like about genealogy, that I always learning of new sources, techniques (need to learn about AI!) and feeling challenged.
And Harriet is being challenged too by getting back into quilting with all those precise measurements!
Cathy, after I posted last night I had trouble getting back in on my iPad. Wasn't sure if it was the iPad or site.
Ddog is on watch status: she has some fresh bleeding from around her rectum. Googled, and there are no "emergency signs" present so she's on watch status. Probably a vet visit tomorrow?
I must get rolling with my breakfast and other stuff this a.m.

Dh is making chili today. When I asked him what went in, he told me what he puts in and it seems that we needed ONE more package of chili seasoning more than what we had in the house. Guess who went to the grocery store. I took the car because the parking lot is not pick up friendly. Not a lot of room to move when they are busy. Good thing I took the car because the parking lot was full. There is a snow storm watch for tomorrow. Lots of people with full carts. By the time I left, I had 2 hands full of stuff.

good morning/afternoon
a little bit of a rough morning for mom - shaky and for me stubborn (

) dd older teased that if I would only ask nicely then mom would... it's an inside group smile.
bought mom her stinky cheese Minster Kase (pronounced like that but spelled Munster Kase d'alsace- mom ate three pieces of it on rye bread with onion slices - stinky!!!! a teenage boy after playing soccer/football etc. smells better than that cheese.
dd older juiced our remaining grapefruit, tangerines and oj from the fruit from Florida - delicious!!!
ordered queen of Sweden roses from David Austin.
need to wash mom's cloths.
need to plan meals for this week

Good morning
Brrrr - my body is still in warm weather mode. I'm trying to adjust to the temperature change, but it is slow going. It was 19F this morning when we went to church. It was up to 30F when we arrived home, so I walk a quick lap outside before I could object. I am quite good at talking myself out of being in the cold weather!
Breakfast was our favorite egg/bacon/cheese/onion/pepperoni cupcakes in the air fryer. I cooked hash browns in cast iron skillet on stove top to get them crispy which managed to set off the smoke alarm. oops!
