Dee, how does one sign their name if they don't know cursive? And how do they read letters from Grandmas and Grandpas if they don't know, also signatures on their birthday and Christmas cards? Really makes no sense to me. Not everybody does 100% of stuff on the computer! But then there's the private school the other half of my grandkids go to that aren't teaching much printing at all. That makes even less sense to me.

I posted this late, late last night... and I was feeling pretty sorry for myself, and nervous --
WHY do I find it so impossible to s2s FIRST thing??? I KNOW my day goes 100 times better if I do -- but I have sooooo much trouble with that one simple step.
Tonight my head is spinning anyway -- dmom mentioned giving that truck to ds again. Now THAT makes me nervous -- like I'll be more obligated to dmom or something then... Dh said how could that be? -- I would never turn her down on anything anyway, already. I'm just crazy. Dmom does NOT need 5 vehicles -- ds really does need a truck like hers.
It's just like the house again . I want my dmom to be like dmil and then when she is -- I start making myself crazy.

I've just been kinda down the past couple of days anyway -- worrying about dmom's physical problems, etc.

Today would have been their 53rd anniversary.

I will have dgs tomorrow and Friday -- maybe he will help me break this nervous depression!
but today, I am glad to say I was sorta "forced" to s2s FIRST THING, b/c of dgs's arrival, so I'm off to a better start. Even did my morning "5 minute" exercise routine. I know that just as the Lord got me through the time my parents were in Houston, He WILL get me through whatever lies ahead with my dmom. TRYING, TRYING, TRYING not to "forecast disaster." All will be well.

Thinking of Sadie with her therapy... and Dee with such goings-on with dgd. I know your dd must be completely exhausted with all of this, mentally AND physically. (((BIG HUGS))) for both of you!!!

(((OKay))) w/teacher problems. Shaking my head... Did you make a copy of the worksheet? I'm just thinking, if this really becomes a constant thing, might be good to have proof. Hmmm...

I definitely saw the lack of training in cursive while I was teaching. Sad.

Love the mental image of MT and Mr. MT w/the sleeping dog at their feet.

And Harmony's mental image of Harriet w/the washboard!

(((BIG HUGS))) for Harmony!!! Praying things go well tomorrow!!!

Hope things go well for you at dmom's and temple, Twins.

Thanks for the good thought to get us started, OKay. I really will do the best I know how today. I am NOT going to wallow in laziness and pity-party.
Tomorrow is another day.

That has definitely been my question, Harmony. How DOES one sign their name -all forms say: "Print Name Here" and then "Sign Name Here". Are they all going to change? Makes no sense to me either.

OTOH, my brain did something somewhat smart. I was really hating the thought of going out and had even put on jeans in preparation for the cold rain out there. When all of a sudden it dawned on me that I COULD set up automatic payment for our insurance premium from the bank account from which I'd write a check, go to the P.O. and mail it. So I looked on the site and sure 'nuf there was 'bill payment'. Never have tried it before. So went through all the steps and I do believe the account is set up to pay the premium each month through next January. Keeping my fingers crossed that I did it correctly. SO! I don't have to go out at all today and I just save about $6 in gas (at least). Amen!

Now to walk around the house and get some more steps in. Was going to go to W World and walk around but I'll just be sure to get a good number in here.

I know your dd must be completely exhausted with all of this, mentally AND physically. She definitely is, LucyLee. Yesterday I could tell it was all really getting to her. She is seeing a dr. today (finally) and hopefully they will get her started on her thyroid meds again. That will surely help some with her emotions. She said she hadn't left a family therapy session with such emotional upheaval as she did yesterday -not in some time. Tonight is "Trivia" and that will be good for her!

Haven't cuop. Will be spending today in Christchurch, touring the city's rebuilding efforts after their devastating earthquakes.

I am home and washing my shmop heads. That floor was so dirty. I very carefully used my vacuum attachments to clean it and then used all 10 mop heads. When it dried, it looked smeary. So I am washing them and will go back and mop that large area again. This morning I detailed the bathroom. I hate to clean any bathroom but my own, but was able to do it by using disposable gloves. When I go back I will mop again and then start hauling out trash. I told dd2 that I won't be home when she comes to pickup the boys because I would be at her shop.

Have I mentioned how relieved I will be when that shop is history? I am sure I have but it bears repeating.

This morning on my way to the shop, I was driving along, minding my own business and following all traffic laws. I look in the rearview mirror and a police man was behind me with his lights on. So I pull over. Turns out I have a tail light out. Of course, he wanted to see my driver's license and proof of insurance. He asked if everything was current on my license and I told him that I had moved, so the address is different. He flipped that license over and proceeded to tell me I had 10 days to report it to the state, that was after he asked how long ago the move was. He told me he would ticket me if I couldn't prove that I had done that. I pulled out the paperwork that I had printed off after I had changed my address via the computer. He was satisfied that I had followed the law and did not ticket me for the tail light but said if I was stopped again, I would be ticketed. I was close to the shop, so I went there and called dh. I was hoping he would run to town and take care of it but he didn't have time. When I came home, I took the back streets. I was in the SUV, so when I went back after lunch, I took my car.

Yikes, I need to take out my own trash but it will have to wait until I get back.

Just tried to call dm and disil and neither answered their cell phone.

DGS has arrived; ds/dh have left -- saying a prayer for their safety, b/c they will be going through some of the worst areas from the last two days -- BUT -- apparently, temps are above freezing now and it should be much easier going.

I fed dgs, played with him for about an hour or so, then put him in his pack-n-play to watch Sesame Street and play on his own. I can NOT keep up the chasing pace all day long, that's for certain. Lots of talking to him during mealtime and play time, but very little (vocal) response from him. Lots of laughs, maybe an "ut-oh" -- but mostly he has been intent on his stacking blocks and unstacking mine. Also brought me the Jack-in-the-box -- obviously wanted me to wind it, LOL. But ddil said doctor was not worried. * sigh *

Dmil has called 3 times. I have not talked to dmom today. 75 minutes yesterday should do us till tomorrow, I think.
Tomorrow is another day.

I see my buddy Cowinkie mentioned going on the Mormon Temple tour. Mr. Guy and I did go Tuesday with our Monday Lunch Bunch, 4 of them LDS in very good standing. It was very nice to have them with us explaining everything. It is so beautiful and very impressive. The 7th temple in AZ is being started over in Peoria. Even I, a Catholic, has to be impressed with those people.

MT, so glad you got your baby. We have been without a dog now for 4 years and sometimes I get very very lonely without one. Coming down here for 4 months every year kind of put a stop to pets, except for Marco our Cockatiel who is a great traveler. But of course I have my very dear little friends at Cowinkie's house - Willis and Sadie the Wonder Dog.

Think I have to go now and put on shorts since it is 80 degrees here now. (Sorry, just had to say it.)
