We ended Wednesday on a wonderful note, enjoying burgers at Burger Fuel. They claim to be the best tasting burgers and while they were very good, they weren't as good as the ones we had at Grill'd in Sydney (ds's favourite place.) Liked the fries better, though.

I'm enjoy L&P which is a lemony soft drink (I suspect a sparkling lemon iced tea but I'm not sure because I usually don't like sweetened ice tea.) It is a regular soft drink here so I enjoy it when we go out to eat.

Dh has booked up our last day which is Friday my time, goodness knows when your time: We start with mid-morning coffee with one contact at a place close to the airport so we can head on to the airport since we have to be checked in for our flight by noon and dinner with old friends (actually the people from whom we bought our first home) during our 4 hour layover in Auckland which I don't think we have time to do. I wanted to visit with them for an hour or so but to leave the airport scares me. I don't know how far from the airport they live and I'm always worried about getting caught in traffic.

Good morning, villagers ~
We're getting more snow. :P

I don't need to be anywhere out of the house today, which is a nice feeling. I have trash and recycling to go to the bins in the garage later this afternoon. Once I get my boots on to do that, I'll probably jump in the car and go to the post office.

Tomorrow I have a dentist appointment and will run errands in The Big City.

So that makes today's 6x6 (in addition to normal daily cards):
* Inventory freezer & pantry for grocery shopping list.
* Fix potatoes & ham in the crock pot for supper.
* File various papers for sewing & library groups.
* Block of time for decluttering projects.
* Finish the ironing so I can put away the ironing board that always seems to be in the way no matter where I set it up.
* Music practice.

Saw a comment earlier on Facebook that in the South, the snow is "laying." In the north it's "sticking." It's coming down today but not laying on the roads for now. I am not planning to go to the luncheon I was invited to today! I did call my hostess and offer my regrets and she said that was fine of course. She is planning to try to get there. Now that I'm not working I feel like I don't "have" to try to get out in the snow.

I'm up but very tired. Got 14,000+ steps in yesterday and my knees are feeling it today. Think the dk's have talked me into using a rolling walker (which a friend lent me) when we go to Disney this weekend. Had a wonderful day there yesterday. I enjoyed watching dgs18mo. enjoy and thrill at sites as much as anything. DSGD14 is an absolute gem and she's so helpful to me. Went to T rex to eat last night so dgs could see all the dinosaurs. Had a wonderful dinner. DS-A was buying our dinners (they have a meal plan). But all in all the meal came to over $200! BUT nearing the end of our meal, dsgd motioned to DS that a couple of tables over "I think they need help". DS went right over, though I never even saw him leave. End was he was on the floor with a man for some time. Ambulance crew came and ds asked if they wanted him to leave (usual course of action). Answer was no, just stay with him. I went outside after dinner while DS, DGS & DSGD waited for a box and the bill. The manager came to our table and had DS sign bills, etc, but told him our entire meal was comped (SP?) DS told him that was not necessary, but the manager told him "Oh yes! You're here vacationing with your family & you went 'above and beyond;. End of discussion". So he finally gave the waitress (who was very good) a healthy tip.

DS-A called me this morning to see if I could possibly bring them some cold sore medicine for ddil. She, of course, does not know he called. I'm trying to figure out how to get them some medicine without driving all the way out there again, I'll figure it out.

DD had a very disturbing call from gd15's staffing unit. (It was a planned conference call.) DD was horribly upset afterwards. One person kept commenting that she thought gd should be pushed through to phase 3, and be discharged to go home the original target date of April 14th and saw no need for a group home experience. DD was totally hit from left field. She thought this was her new therapist talking. Finally in the afternoon she called gd's case worker (who had been present at the conference). Case worker told her that had she not called that she was going to call dd. IT was NOT the therapist talking but the person who controls the purse strings for the health care and of course she wanted gd 'out' sooner. DD was much relieved after this conversation but still shook. The person talking of course knew none of gd's history (and even the fact that she'd been in 4 fights in the previous 7 days or that she had tried cutting her wrists with a broken off (plastic) shampoo bottle.

Dh went for his lab work yesterday and still waits on an appointment for his cat scan. I know I'm a little nervous about it all while having faith that it will all be ok. How do we meld the two?

Kathryn, sure hope your trip home is uneventful. Has it been a month already???? Wow!

Have to go do a LOL for DS/DDIL and try to get the car seat cleaned. Story in itself. When they took off from Niagara Falls, ddil had been telling dgs18mo how they were going to go up in the sky etc. So she walked him through talking to him as they left the tarmac, then the runway and the speed. "Now we're going up into the sky". DGS got a look of terror, raise his arms and started shouting, "All done, all done, all done!" When they landed they had to wait for a sheriff to board and take off a woman & child. DS had just picked up dgs and wham -all over ds, dgs, etc. So we have a bunch of 'stinky' clothes to wash and a car seat to clean.

Better get that load of laundry going. Have to meet dsisil and her sisters at noon for a b'day lunch. I'm not hungry btw.

Have good pt Sadie. DS-R still won't start for a while. think he sees dr Friday.

Woohoo! Just talked with dd and she is going to call guest services at Disney and see if they can find some cold sore medicine and get it to DS/DDIL. She said they are wonderful at solving these kinds of things. And she's going to DO it! She's such a problem solver!! Now if this only works what a bunch of time and money it will save!! DS would certainly make it worth my while but it will be so much better if I don't have to go to Orlando today. I may soon be doing a happy puppy dance. (Note to the wise, Helia.)
