LucyLee - I posted the jpg file I am using for lock screen in members only section.. Those who are FB friends will recognize my profile picture. That was an easily grabbed picture of me then I put some txt on top of the picture. I'm sure there are better ways to do it but it was just what I thought of first.

DH asked if I would like to go out to eat tonight. I told him that I would go with him if HE wanted to go out to eat, however if left up to me to decide then I prefer to eat at home. We are settling for middle of the road solution......heating up frozen pizza at home. Not eating out but not really cooking either.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I have been very concerned about the ice and bad weather for all of you in the southern states. A friend in Georgia has been posting on FB about ice-heavy tree branches almost coming through her bedroom window and other dangerous situations.

Yesterday our high temp was above 30 for the first time in I don't remember how long. I was glad to be able to get out and drive on decent roads, even though it was for a dentist appointment. Just a cleaning and xrays, no new work, yay.

Also stopped at Aldi for groceries. It feels better to have our kitchen restocked since we're going to get more bad weather this weekend.

Wednesday when I went to the post office I stopped in the library just to say a quick hello. However, the children's librarian stopped me and asked if I could dismantle the LEGO displays right away because they were taking up so much room. That ended up taking quite some time since there were so many creations, and then I had to get all the pieces rough sorted (bricks, wheels, windows/doors, people, etc.) and stashed in the basement storeroom.

I totally get why kids like playing with LEGO. Even though I felt sorry to destroy such creative projects, taking the things apart was fun, handling the little pieces and seeing how they had been fit together. Library staff think that because so many patrons have been asking about the club, we'll probably have even more kids at our meeting next week than we had at our first meeting last month.

Today I have been Putting Things Away.

High temp is back in the low teens but we have bright sunshine, so I made sure to be outdoors for a few minutes to go to the post office and ATM. The light is deceptive, though, and I think I need to put on a warmer sweater.

Oh and I just remembered that this is the anniversary of my 2001 accident, being hit by a semi after we both did a dance on black ice. I am grateful for another year of life.

Feeling very grumpy. It feels like everything is taking longer than I think it will and prep is proceeding at a snail's pace if at all - and instead I'm still dealing with daily/weekly commitments. Tutee wanted to talk a lot today, which is good for him. I didn't need to prep much. . .now I probably have plenty for next time. We used his own communication to work on how to say some things in English today.

Dd18 texted me saying that she is out of her thyroid meds, so I've called that in and need to pick them up. Dd15 has been to her oboe lesson and is now at synchro.

I'm going to update laundry, return the kitchen to MO, and putter around tidying the house.

Ah! Dgirl watching our animals is here and I just talked to her. So did dd18, so she is set - as long as we make sure she has a key. And I'll print out a sheet of directions and give her S and R's phone number, though she probably has it too as she sometimes comes to dd18's small group - which is probably why she's at our house right now. S is out of town so they are meeting here.

First, I'm going to make sure she has a house key. I can update laundry while I'm down there.

Quick C.I.:

We got a 7 a.m. cable reminder phone call they were coming this a.m. Why did we even set our alarms? The TV was a simple thing, it was DH, not the cable box, etc.... It's nice to see a TV in that bare spot and see the news, too.

We've been tired all day. I've been reading on the book DH got me for Valentines.

I have been trying to post but keep getting interrupted. It's been another one of those days. Very challenging. Seems as though everything went in s-l-o-w motion, the traffic, the lines at stores, the hospital people.

DH had his pre-op appointment at the hospital, and I don't know why they called it an appointment, as we sat in the lineup behind lots of others. It took 2 hours to get out of there. Picked up my Rx on the way home, went to put in DH's presc. (the written one for his controlled substance they couldn't fax). Other 2 were there from the dr. office, but not charged correctly because they didn't have DH's drug card. "Come back in an hour, we'll have last one filled and pricing changed". Yeah, took an hour to get that accomplished 4 hours later.

We got some paperwork done ahead and all 4 vehicles have antifreeze and oil etc. I continue to clean and clean. Slowly getting the house put back together. Vacuumed 3 hallways and 4 rooms and all the furniture in one room. All that and DH now says 3 or 4 of the tiles we did are not right...I just want to scream. I cannot do this over again. Just cannot. We basically have 1 work day left.

I've been reading posts, just don't have enough left in me to respond much. I'll be back to normal someday - soon I hope!

Bookie - I would love to have you live close by. The Lego club sounds wonderful. All the children we know love Legos and it has always been a huge hit when given as gift.

Not sure it would be possible in a group environment, but LO always ask for a picture to be taken of his Lego creation. After a quick picture then he is eager to tear the Lego's apart and start again.

Our weather has warmed up to 50's today and the bright sunshine has returned. MPB business has went from being closed for 9 straight days to be being so busy that the line has been ridiculously long. For the past 2 days the lines have stayed 6-10 cars deep in each bay. That means customers are getting in line and waiting over an hour until their turn to wash. DH was trying to do MPB PM chores at 10:30pm last night and the backed up lines were still there. Crazy!

I've been doing some research on Democratic vs Republican party difference. I'm a bit embarrassed that I wasn't aware of the differences. ANYway, my research ended in deciding to change party affiliations. I have filled out that paperwork request and have it ready to mail. DH is changing his also.

We're going to have leftovers for dinner with a cooked vegetable, fruits, and I might have salad, too.

We're in for a stormy very wet weekend.

Kathryn won't be able to connect to the internet and wants me to let everyone know she has arrived in LA.

She says she is closer to home but unlikely to be able to post until late Saturday. She's been up for 30+ hours except for a short nap on her second Friday afternoon. She says she gets two Fridays!

Okay ~ Last week at LEGO club as each child or team finished their project, we labeled it with the child's (or team's) name and also asked them to name what they built. Then they carried their projects upstairs for the children's librarian to take a picture, and everything was put on display for the public to see for 3 weeks. We can't afford to print the photos for the kids, but the photos were put on the library's FB page so everyone could share with their families.

I have to say again that I was really impressed with everything that was built. Some of them were so detailed, I don't know how they were able to do it in the time -- less than an hour!

Of course, none of them are newbies like me. They've all been playing with LEGO all their lives.
