Harmony & Nancy, We, too, used to watch HGTV shows, a LOT, while building in 2004 and moving in for a couple years. But then, when the cable company sent us a new TV listing, they forgot to add HGTV- HD on, so we ended up not watching. Recently, though, about 1 month ago, DH "discovered" it, via flipping channels, as often MEN DO! It's so wonderful to get ideas and see new-to-us new shows.

MT, it's interesting to hear they had a luncheon at a funeral home. Our church always puts on a luncheon in the fellowship hall after the service, put on by guilds. In our community, we often see wakes at bowling alleys and taverns or cafes, too. It's very interesting what different people do, isn't it? I'm glad you can finally post, too.

Elizabeth, Good luck on the pimple. It brings back my teen years. People are usually more interested in themselves and think nothing of someone else' pimple. I hope it heals soon.

This is a quick CUOP. I've s2s, etc... Did QT, journal, emails, obits, etc.... I had a terrible morning of sneezing, coughing, and blowing my nose for about 1 hour this a.m. It was laughable! DH said, "You sure are NOISY!" After my shower, everything drained, (TMI?) and broke up, so I'm fine now. It's amazing the weekend is here, we're having warm rains, and I look forward to mail time. I'm expecting my Crochet World Magazine and new Weight Watchers Magazine. Also, a new magazine I subscribed to is "Poets & Writers" Magazine. I let some old magazines "go"/lapse, so then what do I do? I subscribe to NEW magazines! I'm thinking things like "You're letting clutter into your house!" and "But I really "needed" these!"

Small load of things like hand towels, rags, my work gloves I wear inside soaking in hot bleach soapy water. Everything got so dirty with our tile work. Got 4 rooms mopped + hallways. One hallway more to do, I see dusty footprints.

Throw rugs shook out. Swept out the garage where dry leaves are blowing in. It's a lot of work around here keeping the outside - OUT!

Couple more phone calls made. I need to put insurance papers in all the vehicles right now. I'm getting tired and we have all that grouting to do tonight.

Ivy, I'm glad you're feeling better. Nothing worse than a winter cold.

Thanks, Harmony. Yes, winter colds aren't fun. Was so glad when Thurs./Fri. arrived with NO fever!

You're doing such busy and proactive household projects. WOW! When they built our home, it's the first time in our marriage we were able to afford tiles/grouting, which the builder contracted out to do. It's such a messy job, so hard, on the floors, kneeling, and even standing, getting everything lined up right and clean-up is no fun fete either.

What colors are your tile and grouting? Ours are all grey and grey grouting. But the kitchen is 12" x 12" square black granite tiles, with black grouting. We couldn't afford the slab of granite. Also, our powder room, utility room, and main/guest bathroom have Formica counters with tile back-splash. We couldn't afford an all tile counter in those rooms. But the master bathroom got the counters in tile, around the tub, tile shower and floors. We had to cut expenses where we could because, of course, everything adds up. The fir floors were milled from our trees though, we have tile floors in the bathrooms/powder room, but fir floor in the utility room. IF any water leakage problems should occur in the kitchen (fir floor there) or the utility room, we've decided to do either tile in there or high quality vinyl floors. I'd love to have a bright colored linoleum or vinyl floor in the utility room, just because it'd perk up the room, make it more feminine. The kitchen would be lovely with a tile floor, if we could afford it, if there was a leakage accident. We have area rugs in the dining room and great room. The entry is also 12" square grey tile. What was even MORE AMAZING is how we'd been married 34 years before we ever got our very first garage! We were in 7th heaven, felt so special and still do. I don't know how we survived all these years without one. We're so fortunate and lucky to have a garage now. I'm rambling now! Rambling Rose!

I tried to post this morning before I headed out to take dMacs to PT, but lost my connection before I left home. When I got home, I hung out for awhile and wrote the following but never got it posted....

I started to post earlier but was on new computer, which lost connection to internet before I got it posted! (Then didn't show any networks available, never mind that dh's computer found every wi-fi in the neighborhood and was sitting next to my computer.) Dmacs has been to PT.

I am tired, tired after long trip to see dsis yesterday. She continues to decline. Have a care team meeting in a little less than two weeks so will return for that. I got in about 9:45 last night.

I need to make a trip to see dmom but I may not be able to face that today. I've left dbro in charge of her meds since I didn't get there on Thursday as scheduled. I've suggested that dh and I take Moe for a walk at a local greenway this afternoon. I might take an advil and nap first...woke up feeling disoriented and out of it, at least in part because I had left my glasses on (with my cpap mask) when I got up to feed ddogs and let them out at 5 a.m. Woke up to lots of condensation on glasses.



And for now....after I wrote the earlier post I napped a bit and then dh and I went out to greenway to walk dMoses. We had a great walk, but while walking my car was broken into (passenger window broken out) and my purse w phone stolen. Since getting home we've reported credit cards stolen. Dh is barely speaking to me. Yes, I should have covered the purse up instead of leaving it in view in my car. We had police come and do report. I need a new phone, need to replace passenger window, and need to get credit cards replaced.

Oy. I hope my marriage can survive this. Dh was already in a surly mood. I feel really sad that he has to "blame" someone, and that appears to be me.

Wow. Sorry to be whiny when Mr. Harmony is having surgery on Monday...

Twins', I'm SO SORRY that you're going through all of this! The computer connection thing could possibly be due to weather. I feel when bad things happen to good people, as you, the car being broken into, etc.. It seems so unfair and it IS! I hope your DH gives you more peace-of-heart by nightfall because as it is, you feel bad enough already. I hope all this cools down, once cards are cancelled, you get a new phone, and new passenger window. Bad guys are just not nice. I'm so sorry for your inconvenience, for both you AND your DH. I hope they find who did it, too, somehow and somewhere. This is supposed to stuff you hear on the news, happening to others, but not yourself.

I see where you'd be feeling so sad how DH has to "blame" you, but it's not YOU, personally. He's merely angry and you're the closet one to him, for him to work out his frustrations. I hope you'll get united and back to normal soon. You're not being whiny, either. You're just telling it as it is. It's the facts, Ma'am. You needed to "talk" to get it off your heart, we're here, to support you.

Harmony, You sound way so busy for Mr. Harmony having surgery on Monday, too. Will be praying for a good outcome, too.

Speaking of awesome. Do you know when kids or teens say, "Awesome opossum!"? The other day, we watched an opossum slowly walk closer to us, from the drain field out back, he sauntered over to some trees and some tall grass with some old lumber under the grass, from building our home. The opossum nosed into the grass, finding a bunny's lair for winter, and he made the bunny hop out! It was such fun to see Mother Nature at work. I have a down's syndrome pen pal who I'll tell the story to, too, because she'll get a kick out of it. I'll tell her to have her Dmom show her an opossum photo on their computer, so she can see how funny they look, too.

DH is watching The Olympics, I took a 30-min. rest on the sofa sectional, and am reading on a book. I want to start writing letters and read my new Weight Watchers Magazine, too. Woo-Hoo! It came today!

For my Soda Stream machine 2 rosesbushes in a bag with roots and we found a 50% off val. Sale on a red heart shaped box of candy.

I got my crock pot it was reduced has every thing except an on light it is new came with a mini dipper one too.

Got two "Poultry Today" mags.

This morning more like noon we went to the indoor yd. Sale at the fair grounds I did not find a used crock pot but saw a friend I went to school with grades 1 - 12. Found a used snow shovel getting ready for next yr.

Now I need to be thinking about where to plant those roses maybe tomorrow.

Found he facial masque for $2.99 too yea!
I have the stuff for chili so will use the new crock pot for that tomorrow for lunch.

H. Sorted out his mags and has 5 he could let go of.

((Twins' Mom)), thank goodness this was not a situation of mugging, but of cowardly hiding and peeking in windows, breaking in where you had been conscientious to lock. At least you are safe and you weren't traumatized by an encounter with a thief. Did police feel this was a very unusual crime for the place, or something that they have seen happen several times? It's very sobering. But cars are broken into whether someone sees something particular or not - they break in for stereos, for what might be in the glove box, for coats. You and I have both had daughters with "purses" carried as toys in the car - can't tell you how many times I've glanced what one of mine had left on a car seat, and thought it looked as much like a woman's purse as mine would have.

Trip out was a success and since we went when the sun was shining brightly we didn't have any slipping and sliding. I think things will be okay for Monday oh-dark-thirty school run, although I will be careful. Posted about hospital in J and C.

We took a taxi and I ran into a corner store for milk along the way. Way cheaper than a limo and just as comfortable (I don't find stretch limos comfortable because their suspension is weird.)

I've started unpacking but this will be a several day long project.

While we were traveling in New Zealand, we did cover up the computers with an open map each time we left the car. At home, I have a pillow I keep in the back seat (holdover from when I was sick and had to nap in the car) and I toss that over my purse on the floor of the back seat.
