Morning Y'LL...

Im gonna be like MT and be out of here in just a minute...being sick in bed for nearly a week has put me in crunch time for my Sat gathering. I need today to get organized, mostly busy work. And I agreed to sub for my friend tomorrow.

Bookie...I have used both sites mentioned for doing my ancestry work. I hope to access the LDS (Morman) facilities here in Mesa during the next few weeks. It is free, plus there are people there to help you in your family search.

Yesterday among other things I washed all my lawn furniture, cushions included, and patio. I don't wanna tell y'all that I was outside in shorts and t-shirt sweating. Usually the kids around here don't start swimming until Spring Break which is two weeks away, but I bet some of them have taken the plunge already... Plus my bulbs which have never flowered in the past three years...yes I have had leaves...decided to present me with a present this week. Also the sunflowers which I started in my large pots have emerged and now I have a small forest. Won't have time to thin them till next week, but boy have they been fun to watch grow.... lovin it

Gotta go while my energy is high. I haven't had a bad cold in years, but this one made up for that

CONGRATULATIONS CANADA ON YOUR GOLD MEDAL I am happy for you because although US lost (big time) and didn't even get a Bronze, Patty Marleau and Mark Eduard Vlasic are San Jose Sharks and we are happy for them.

Yes, Cowinkie has been very ill. I will see if I can help her in any way for her upcoming Mardi Gras party, especially since Friday we all go to our first Spring Training baseball game.

We only have 5 more weeks here and then back home to Nevada. I will be ready. I miss home.

Back home from church. It was 2 minutes before the end of the game when I turned off the tvs and headed to church. We were up 3 goals to none so felt I could count on a gold medal. Before I was in the car, the game was over (dh listened to the end of it on the radio.)

We ended up with 24 at church, 1/3 of which were kids. The service was fine (it was led by a lay leader who pulled it off the internet.) Dh and I sang the anthem at both services so got home a few minutes ago.

There was time to hear the last half of my friend's service over the internet but turns out he's not there today so I turned it off when I figured that out.

I'm on the treadmill at the moment, planning to walk a mile. My step counts have been way too low the past few days so I won't come close to the goal of 10K steps a day this week. Of course, I had a house guest so could use the treadmill while he was here. That limited my steps except for the day I made the effort to go to the general store for the mail. It is nice out now so maybe we'll do that walk after my service this afternoon.

Dh is still not sleep the night through. Hasn't since he got home except for one night when I insisted he take melatonin. I think I'll insist again tonight. He's tired and cranky and starting to make very bad mistakes. When he is tired, he gets very confused. When he is well rested and not under pressure (the cruise for instance) his mind is fine. The testing will be next month I think and maybe we'll get some answers although we have to pay for it ourselves because his confusion is not bad enough to warrant tests under the universal health insurance.

Yes, congratulations to Canada on the hockey Gold Medal. I like it when a whole team gets to medal - so many hard-working people not just sharing behind the scenes in a medal (important, of course) but also lots getting to hold their own in their hands, too.

Norma, enjoy the next 5 weeks and also enjoy the anticipation of heading home! Thanks for getting to the point and telling us straight that Cowinkie has been very sick. She will gloss over things like that! She bears watching... ...

We also had a big-for-us crowd at church today. Maybe 65. Because so many come one-at-a-time, though, parking was tight.

I promised to bring candy or nuts for a shower at church next weekend. (typing it out should further remind me)

Then checking yesterday's mail, I see another baby shower on the horizon. As Twins' mentioned, this one is also at a gorgeous house I've been to before. The one with the grand piano and harp on a balcony above the living room. (The sister-in-law of expectant mother lives with her parents-in-law, so such a home is not owned at their generation!) I wish dd34 could be home that weekend and go with me and dd15 this time. She keeps missing her cousins' events. Such things are almost always on weekends, and ddil works weekends as a last-hired never-a-weekend-off RN.

Waving to every one. I have the last of hubbys work clothes going in the dryer now. Pot roast in the crockpot is smelling wonderful. Bed is made. First load of laundery is folded.

Some one was talking about the programming on the Bravo channel the other day I do not remember who, anyway one show I do enjoy on it is calked "inside the actors studio".

Just wondering......what do they do with several thousand fans when the stands are evacuated for severe weather threats? As an aside, it's sunny with clouds here 100 miles southwest of Daytona. How about you, Sunny?

Decided to get up & at least putter some. Trying to do 20 things at a time in the office. Have that done for now.

Good afternoon all! None of us here are keeping our Sunday sabbath from computer use b/c we all have too much to catch up on, especially dh. Dh is stressed with work. He did work every minute he could during vacation, even checking work emails and making phone calls while in lines for rides at amusement parks, staying up late nights, working through all the plane rides, etc. Still, he has a ton to do, some important visitors and presentations this week plus teaching prep and everything else. His lead research scientist, who is hoping to eventually be a prof in Korea, taught his class for him this week, so the students were in very good hands. I'm not sure who did it for him the previous week when he was away on work travel.

Congratulations to the Canadians! I haven't been following the Olympics much beyond the phenomenal Dutch speedskating team, but I'm happy to hear Canada won the ice hockey gold! Was this the men's team?

I do feel very proud of the Dutch speed skaters! They got the most medals with the least # of people in the Olympics - 23 speed skating medals (out of 36 total) won by a 41 person speed skating team! These 41 athletes got as many medals as some entire national teams - and they broke the record for the most gold medals won by a single nation in a single event at the Olympic Games. I hope there was no steroids or drug use going on. Dh hasn't yet spoken with his family about this. Well, maybe his ddad, but his ddad isn't always aware of these sorts of things.

Our Family Talk today was lunch out with S and R and baby J. Later, R is cooking salmon and potatoes for us for dinner; we'll make a veggie. Yes, though not genetically related, they are family.

After I finish my cup of tea, I will run out to buy some basic groceries to get us through Monday and a veggie for dinner tonight. Maia is just about out of dog food. I will be too busy to go to the groc. store tomorrow, though it will just be GG and myself for dinner tomorrow night. Also need to get some laundry done.

Maia is rather unsettled being home again, constantly going out and then coming back in. We wonder if she is looking for dfriends' dog Hank who was her big playmate during the week. (We gave Tori's owners a break this time.)

The sun is shining, snow and ice are melting. We are in for another cold snap this week though, apparently another encounter with the polar vortex. Ugh. I wish the jet stream would just stay where it's supposed to - that's according to my limited understanding of this vortex thing. . .

This has been a family type of day for me too -
** Breakfast included phone conversation with DD (on speaker phone)
** Church with DSis and DBro/DSIL
** Lunch with DBro/DSIL. We caught up on family happenings for a bit before I moved on to join some friends. I was table hopping....I sat at three different tables/groups at local cafe today. The waitress were awesome by stayed up with me - serving my food & drink at whatever table I was sitting. Drink at first table, salad at second table, meal at third table.

Yesterday was sunny and 80's. We are back to the 50's with cold wind today however the bright sunshine is still here so it doesn't look cold outside.

Hello all! Sundays are mostly my "free day", so I've just been relaxing, reading and enjoying the quiet time.

Dee, the weather here is beautiful: blue sky, 70* and faint misty clouds high up in atmosphere. Just checked the weather map when I saw your question and see the rain north of us, wow! Both of my dnieces are at Daytona with their families; hope they are all right!

BookSaver, you do have a large family; it's so nice you have these reunions to all keep in contact. I have tried ancestrydotcom, but I also like myheritagedotcom and have started a family tree there. It is easier to use, I think, and doesn't cost as much as the a.com. I haven't paid for the premium service, but if I did there are links I could access and save. I will also look at the other site you mention.

We had a nice family visit with dfam#1 yesterday. It had been a few weeks since we've seen them and it was fun to catch up on everything; lots of hugs and kisses were shared! No company today. We will probably call ds#3 this evening. Dfam#2 is busy with dgd12 and girl scout troop activities this afternoon. It's time for me to start supper for dh and me, but I'll be back later to finish cuop.

Home from 4 hours of meetings at the temple; dd is still home so we have ordered pizza and will eat together on our porch before she heads back to school. DH went to work and then bowling today. Current temp today is 70 degrees - such a nice day!
