Mixed bag this morning. I was down 1.3 lbs at WW. That was good. Tarjay didn't have staples, which we badly need. Well, they have bright pink or blue ones - but we just want plain staples. Went to my bank to get cash - its ATM is down for repairs. Those 2 errand fails were irritating. :? Came home, unloaded things - found a fedex package for ds at our door. Called him to let him know about it. The package was from NI - b/c he has been offered a summer internship at Natl. Instruments in Austin, TX this summer! I'm very proud of him! And happy for him! :) He sounded a little hesitant about it, though, not sure about spending the summer in Texas. I reminded him that dfriends E and C were there (and other friends too), and they attend a wonderful church with lots of young people, and they've already said they'd be happy to see more of ds this summer, so there is some community already in place for him there. And, I think the interns may all live in the same apt. complex, though E and C might be willing to rent him a room, if it is available. They pretty regularly rent a room to a young person. . . Anyhow, lots to figure out. He needs to first decide if he wants to do that. I'll try not to pressure him. He needs to decide by today b/c the local software company he's worked for the last 3 summers needs to know today if he'll be back this summer. . . I would be happy for an excuse to go down to Austin, TX this summer! The weather certainly will not be an excuse. LOL! --I will not share with irl friends yet until we know more.

Eating lunch. Will need to prep for tutoring soon, and then ds will be coming home to pick up some things for his Univ. Christian fellowship's group's trip to inner city Detroit, leaving tonight. (Next week is the Univ.'s "spring" break.) Spring - ha ha ha!

Hello dear ladies,

Rain here and temps continue to drop each day. Calling for ice storm over the weekend. March is always a wild month.

Out of my sling and enjoying it for awhile. Today is a long day at work and I"ll be in the sling for many hours.

Trying to figure out if I want to take a pain pill to prevent pain or not take it and wait to see if I have pain.

I'll most likely take it as by the end of the shift I hurt a lot.

Going to relax in my chair for awhile before heading out.

Great day to all!

Dh is on a classical music jag this week so is listening to whole symphonies on YouTube. Some is enjoyable, some not (Bolero has never been a favourite of mine, but Beethoven is playing now, his 5th and I love some bits that are seldom played as extracts.

I've spent the whole morning working towards starting my deadline project of the day. So the kitchen linen drawer is cleaned out and half are put away until after the move. I've moved other stuff around which may be a bad idea but it is done.

I've also gathered up all the paperwork and sorted through all the business paperwork and have it ready for data entry. I think I'm missing something I need for this afternoon so am upset.

Home from Macs PT appt - while I we were drying him off he was playfully flailing around and caught me in the lip with one of his claws...broke the skin and a little puffy.

Challah will be ready in breadmaker in about 5 minutes, have to shape it to rise an then bake. The wife of the family called back and left a message asking me to leave food at her office so that will be easy.

Still have to write for temple bulletin (my article and other stuff) and email the dog/house sitter. I made the phone call to cancel my massage earlier today. And pack...

My deadline has been met, the company has filed its payroll records for 2013 and the tax receipts have been issued so I could do my taxes except I'm waiting for all the chits from investments.

I couldn't find the web access code. Turns out I wasn't mailed one, they are reusing last year's. Except I shredded that after filing the returns last year. (We used to get a fresh one every year.) So I had to call. Except the lines were busy (today is the last day to file) and the web version wouldn't work for me. Finally got through on the phone and gave the man a chuckle when he asked what our business was. "Computer consulting, with a specialty in the internet. Which makes my losing the web access code rather ironic!"

Everything is done now and the appropriate papers all filed away in appropriate places (I print off copies of everything.)

I have 90 minutes until it is time for me to start baking for this afternoon. I think I'll watch a Downton Abbey. I'm sore because I've been standing and walking around the house all day (but well over 8K steps and I haven't got to the church yet.)

Hello, hello!!!

Yesterday, ddil and I went to visit dcousin-with-the-new-baby. Baby weighs 9 lbs now, and feels sooo light-as-a-feather! So hard to imagine dgs was smaller than that less than 2 years ago! I told ddil she couldn't hold her long, b/c she'd start getting that baby fever again, and they didn't need anymore babies at their house, LOL! DGS was totally uninterested in new baby, even when his mom was holding her. He was much more concerned with exploring daunt's house and banging blocks on the metal garbage can. :D

   Dcousin-with-cancer, the baby's grandmother, didn't get out of bed while we were there. New treatment makes her feel awful... and there is so much fear that the news will not be good Monday. Daunt holds it together amazingly well, but she teared up talking about how trips to chemo make her think how exhausting it was to dmom & ddad, making daily trips out of town. I just can't imagine how daunt manages her emotions... losing her husband so unexpectedly 7 years ago... her brother last May... and now to face this fear with her oldest child.
And my dmom is so upset by the whole situation w/dcousin, so close to ddad's death, that she can barely talk to daunt!

Anyway... that took up most of my afternoon, and then last night dh and I had a wonderful "date night." Crab legs... K rispy K reme donuts... and saw the new movie Nonstop -- about the air marshal who is being set up to look like a hijacker. WOW. it was sooo good. No fingernails left. And definitely hard to figure out who the real villian was!

Helia asked about the job interview for ddil. Yes, she is working now, part-time, as a nurse's aide at the hospital. She interviewed to move into the lab, b/c she is now certified to draw blood. DH and I have extremely mixed feelings about this... ESPECIALLY after she shared with me that she would be alternating weekends.   Remember -- weekends are kinda "sacred" to dh, ESPECIALLY during college football season. If ds is traveling and we are going to college town... ooohhh... going to be trouble. They really, really need to find a good back-up babysitter, but who you gonna call for 4:00 a.m.? * sheesh * I can't believe she's going to like this schedule at all, anyway. (Of course, she doesn't know what sort of schedule they will offer her, but the day schedule is something like that -- 5:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.)
And ddil thinks dh is just kinda selfish... but OTOH... dh put me through school, all the way through a Master's Degree. He retired 15 years before me and waited all that time, just looking sooo forward to the time when we'd be free to go and do as we pleased. He spent six years watching his father bedridden and fears sooo much reaching the age when his own health restricts him from traveling and doing things he wants to do. He watched my father be a workaholic up until the time he died, with no time for real relaxation with my dmom. So... I understand dh's point of view.
Personally, I know we will NEVER regret time spent with dgs... BUT... I understand dh's point of view. :? * sigh *

Trying to Let Go and Let God on this one.

Excited... THREE WEEKS FROM TODAY IS GEORGE STRAIT DAY!!!

Today...
[ ] call dmom, make bday plans
[ ] wrap dmom's gift
[ ] CVS
Tomorrow is another day.

Ds has come and gone. I'm prepped for tutoring, other than transferring a bingo question game from the other tutoring folder to this tutee's. I didn't get to all my planned activities last time so had some leftover, which made prep fast and easy. I've had lunch - and am feeling so sleepy. . .

We're still getting tax documents in the mail too, Kathryn.

I've missed where you're going, Twins?

Next:
- grab that bingo game
- a.m. routine progress?
- maybe a 15 minute cat nap?

Helia, we are going to Vegas. I'm not fired up about it, except for seeing some shows and maybe shopping? I can take casinos for awhile but hate the smoke! It's a trip through M arriott vacations so we get three nights there in a condo and have to go to a sales presentation about buying a timeshare. We do have the HHI timeshare for one trip there a year - that will be in late May or early June. I've never been able to travel this time of year before!

Challah is out of oven and dog instructions updated and emailed off. Macs gets a new med now, but it's supposed to be on an empty stomach an hour before a meal. Given the way he complains when his meal is due, sometime he just doesn't get it because I come in after his supper time.

This time:
-reboot laundry (didn't do it last time)
-finish kitchen clean up
-make the bed
-start pulling out stuff to pack?
-make a list, take off for groc and to drop off meal once challah is cooler
