:D HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TO MIKE! :D

(((Kathryn)))), Heal soon. I hope you'll feel better soon, after your fall.

(((Harriet/HRH))) & thinking of Joe, too.

Motivations for me are:
1- Clutter; when I see it, I want to declutter.
2- Routines, Things go better if I start the day out with QT & Prayer, etc...
3- Exercise, so I have less pain, am stronger, and have more energy.
4- Deadlines, for holiday get-togethers, so my house is clean by them.
5- Deadlines for work, so I get stories in on time.
6- FOCUS here motivates me to focus on the declutter and detailed cleaning weeks.
7- The threads here, like Declutter, the book-reading one, the creative home one, J's & C's, etc....
8- Health keeps me motivated to do the best I can to take the best possible care of myself as I can to feel strong, have energy, and be happy.
9- My cat motivates me for her early morning and at mail time treats, for trickles of water in the tub, where she LOVES to drink.
10- Pen pal letters motivate me to reply to them.

I think there are motivators all around me.

Need to s2s now that breakfast, QT, etc.. is over. HAVE A GREAT MOTIVATING MONDAY! :D

Norma, thank you for the description of party at Cowinkie's! Fun, fun. So sweet of you to wish for a posse of us villagers - we would have enjoyed it all. Good job, Cowinkie.

Aw, shoot! :? I meant to be sure and say Happy Birthday Mike first thing this a.m.

So glad to hear things are a little better for Kathryn.

Lynlee, how is your sitter now that you have landed upon it? Hope your sitter is sitting well.

I ran errands for the 4 principals at the meeting. Sat outside on a very comfortable bench and ate a banana and read a book. Took a long time. Taking notes might have been wise, OKay. But main story was shock on family's behalf that they had to take time to bring this new (new floor in hospital) doctor up to speed. She was saying "since Joe no longer speaks", which was ridiculous. And beyond that, "since we've known about (the liver) all this time". So HRH just had to stop her, and give her all completely new information - specifically, diagnosed for first time on Feb 14, actively engaged in conversation with multiple visitors March 1. Family feels much of what was about to be recommended needed to be rethought. They are making no changes yet. HRH asked if the nurses did not communicate with doctors and doctors did not communicate with each other. Hope no feelings hurt, but gee.

Also called dd34. They were being dismissed from the college and she was packing up things from her office to be able to work at home, getting ready to pick up the boys early. "Icy Mix" debilitating the big city where she works.

Dd34 has had ultrasound and was told baby is at high percentile for height/length, but vaginal delivery as her other births still looks like the right course of action. Told HRH and he put his hands over his ears "too much information!" :)

Picturing your dh with hands over his ears, Harriet. Good thing he was at the meeting so he could bring this Dr 'up to speed'. Geesh is right! Always my fear -that the right hand doesn't know, etc, etc, etc.

The sight of clean / order motivates me. I hate dirty and messy!
Now I forget just who did say this -I copied it some time ago. :? At any rate -me too! Oh, of course! It was Harmony. I agree.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Glad to see you posting, BookSaver.

Happy for your hens, helia.

Dee, HRH told doctor the family needed "continuity". So many times telling caregivers something and then having it as an unknown later. Plus the ICU doctor knew he himself was the one who first diagnosed, knew the surprise to everyone including Gen Prac, knew which test diagnosed it, date, etc. - it was all him, and much to his credit. But move two floors away in the hospital and that info is lost to physicians.

Also, how does the fact that Joe entertained several different visitors with interesting conversation (well, tell Mr. DeeClutter I said they were race car stories, but that's still almost entertaining ;) ) get completely lost in his care charts? HRH says nurses were coming in to adjust machines, etc., commenting on happy men's chats. Yet doctor thinks he can't speak.

:D @ HRH -- TMI... and (((HUGS))) for doctors/misunderstandings/confusion, etc... * sigh * So difficult.

Those (((HUGS))) extended to Harmony & Mr. Harmony, too! I definitely can understand the eggs you're treading, as Dee said, Harmony. I'm so sorry for Mr. Harmony, having all this pain and frustration... but I am also sorry for YOU, trying to keep things upbeat and positive, and managing all the daily tasks that can't be ignored just b/c one person is in the hospital. (((BIG HUGS)))

Motivation. Gee... what DOES motivate me? I am severely lacking in motivation.
Having guests motivates me... remember Christmas and Thanksgiving? But we rarely have guests, so that's pretty much a non-factor. I am glad dmil doesn't drop by unannounced anymore, LOL. Not b/c of the house, but b/c of catching me still in pj's. * If I had not been keeping dgs last week, duncle & aunt would definitely have awakened us, and that sort of thing embarrasses me.

I want to do routines and focus and all that, but dh is definitely of the school that thinks, "If it's not dirty, why clean?" Totally opposite of P&P and all routine thinking, right? As long as there are clean towels in the closet, he does not want to wash... as long as there are clean dishes in the cabinet, he does not want to run the dishwasher... get the picture? He is very un-motivating to me. He will "allow" me to keep up with laundry (other than towels and his underwear) but is sorta picky about when I iron, since he is the one who puts his clothes away, and he is very OCD about his closet. Yes. He can be very difficult... and I suspect some of you might have kicked him out long ago... ;) ... but I guess I'll keep him.

We do try to have everything neat and tidy before leaving on a trip. But things are usually "neat and tidy" around here... b/c dh is so OCD. It's just the CLEANING/FOCUS routines that are so severely missing.

As Ivy said, things DEFINITELY go better for me when I start out with s2s, Bible reading, etc... BUT... it is sooo hard for me to make myself hit the ground running like that. So much easier to come to the computer -- as I did today -- and sorta waste time (not with you girls!) -- just reading and lolling around.

Happy birthday to Mike!

Sounds like a great party at Cowinkie's.

(((Lynlee))) (((Kathryn)))

Hope Harriet's dd34 and family get home safe and sound and don't have to venture out again until all is warm and clear!

(Here, cold and dreary, but no ice.)
I just miss my body. Haven't made my peace with this new one yet. It is fat and decidedly dysfunctional.
Oh, (((Kathryn)))... that is exactly what my dmom is saying all the time! She said she always thought she could be okay alone, on her own... she thought she was independent and strong and all that... but now she realizes she was picturing herself in her 35 year old body!

(((Lilac))) I know you must worry sooo much about your dmom. That has to be sooo frustrating! And obviously, nothing in the world you can do to help her until she truly wants to help herself. I can certainly see where it would be VERY motivating to you though, to do everything possible to avoid being like her. * whew *

Waving to ALL!!!

I must go call dmom, then exercise, then s2s. That's the plan. ;)
Tomorrow is another day.

Cowinkie party sounds like a great time!

Lunch was potato bar. I know I sound like a broken record....but I loooove the Instant Pot so much. It took longer for me to prepare the toppings than it did to steam the potatoes to perfection.

Just finished ordered some Lego's to have on hand for gifts. Lego's seem to be the most requested gift from our youngest generation.

LO is down for a nap. When he wakes up I need to find a indoor place nearby so he can run off some energy. It is too slippery outside for him to play.

Afternoon Y'all..

Thanks for the kind words Norma. All the food seemed to be a hit with many requesting recipes. Your door wreath that you and Mr. Guy made was just perfect. :D Harriet...Good for HRH speaking up. Must be frustrating to say the least. Laughing at the TMI thingie...Gosh Bookie, it sounds way too cold in your part of the neighborhood.

Last guest left around 1:am Sat. night. I started putting away food and the next thing I knew it was 3:00 am and my kitchen was clean and table/room decorations were put away. Its been a long time since I was up that late and I kept thinking...Oh I'm on Lucylee Time ;)

Sweetie was a great help. It took us one full day to decorate the walls and another for me to do the room/table stuff. I started cooking around 8:am Sat. morning by making 3 king cakes. I also made one huge pot of jambalaya with shrimp, one small pot of plain jambalaya and a pot of New Orlean's bean and sausage soup. It rained in buckets, but fortunately it didn't keep people away. I think we had 25+people in the house.

This morning was spent taking down the wall decorations. However I did leave up my nitch decorations as Mardi Gras isn't until tomorrow and I want to enjoy them for a few more days.

Three things motivate me...Love, desire and the need for order. I gave up the fear factor long ago. Visits from my XILS would send me in a tizzy. They would come and stay for a week at a time at least four times a year.. My then husband would drive me crazy worrying that the house was not in perfect order. However he never lifted a finger to help. Once I found my "voice" I put an end to that...I took back my control and adopted the attitude of Let It Be and if you don't like it that's your problem.

Music is what helps me get in the mood and keeps me focused. Through P&P I gained the knowledge of how to get organized. The desire of having an organized home let the "box" showed me the way. I loved the results and have never looked back. Now I have a need for order and the peace that I find within my own home.

I too usually leave my house clean and in order when I travel. My dxmil was the same way to the point of cleaning her oven. She was afraid of dying while gone and she hated the thought that someone would come into her house and find it not in order. I just love coming home to a clean house...whether its after work or a trip. I make sure to pick up my footprints, make my bed and have my sink shinning before I leave. When my son was small I learned to use baskets in the rooms where his toys were. Made keeping the house neat a snap. The only time things would get out of hand was when I was going to school full time and final week approached. I could handle the footprints but ya sure wouldn't call the rest of my home organized. LOL

Off to the box garden store. I have a jungle of sunflowers growing in my big pots and its time to move them. Sweetie has volunteered to go with me...I need to buy a bunch of soil and he's gonna provide the muscle to move it. Wishing y'all stay safe in the stormy weather and waving to everyone from here. Enjoy your day... I'm off

Wow Harriet makes one wonder if they can't read chart notes or have patients mixed up or ? Something.

Baby N. us here now. Lunch is done.

Ivy I too was wondering why Angelina Jolee was shakey if it was from high heals, being tipsy from toasting, some thing medical, or maybe she needed to eat.

I am making progress on my to dos for today yea!
Crock pot cooking is making the house smell yummy!

Lucy l. My mom would do that no matter how much I cleaned she would find the one thing I'd missed.

Really need to find that motivation. . . It is in short supply here today. I think I'll make a list and cross things off; I do find that motivating.

Lunch with dfriends was good but longer than expected. I got home at 2:35. We are 3 opinionated ladies, don't always agree (widely disparate political views, for example) BUT in the end we truly care about each other.

I haven't even finished the a.m. routine, but next up will be:
- call in dd15's absences on Friday
- update laundry
- 2 errands: Trader Joes and pet store nearby (hay for g. pigs)
