Thursday again!
Hi! Didn't make it here on Wednesday. I was busy all day and no cleaning. I am finally packed except for meds, toiletries, etc. I need to head to bed. I will be lucky to get 4 hours sleep. We plan to leave by 7 at the latest, but I wanted to check in. I will have my Kindle and hope to be able to cuop and say hi. Dh ate leftovers and had no cake for his birthday but he was fine with it. Both of the girls stopped by to tell him Happy Birthday and wish us a safe trip. Gotta hit the bed...............

Re: Thursday again!
Good morning, Lilac and Lynlee.
Lilac, I hope you have a safe and happy trip. You're well prepared. That's nice your dds both got to see you before you leave.
Lynlee, I was wondering if you would be seeing a dr about new developments. Hope all news is ordinary news. Quite right to add "people" to a hope for few difficulties for everyone. I second that. My dear aunt of the daily aprons called yesterday and was concerned when I said sister-in-law might be coming overnight. (smile) No, I explained to her these in-laws all pretty easy-going. Not a problem.
Worrisome dreams had me out of bed a half-hour early and even though I didn't feel sleepy then, now I'm yawning. Laundry is spinning. As soon as it's daylight and I'm back from school run I'll take the vacuum outside and clean it for the day's duties.

Re: Thursday again!
((Harriet)) I'd noticed lots of us have difficulties - issues - whatever - with people, in a lot of different situations, from health to all sorts of human-ness.
walked 3 k
dinner was not a great success.
dishes are washed.
avoided my message bank when I got home from walking. then found 2 reasonable messages once it got late.
tomorrow I need contact telemarket place, sort out a problem of a cancelled order during cool down period - that was not processed.
also the 2 other calls to catch up with.

Re: Thursday again!
Peeking in quickly; need to leave in 10-15 minutes.
Good morning Harriet and good night Lynlee. Can you grab a nap later today, Harriet?
Fell asleep in the chair by the fire last night, just like an old woman. LOL!! It was SO warm and SO comfy, even though dh and the kids were talking rather noisily. Dh finally told me to go to bed. We had gone out for coffee together last night beforehand. He then organized the troops, aka kids, and they need to pack and go groc. shopping for their ski trip after school today. I feel like I should be the one groc. shopping, but I'm trying to let that go. . . I'm not going on the trip, and they are certainly old enough to do that themselves. I do need to go groc. shopping myself, though; not sure what GG and I will eat tonight. . .
I am s2s-ed, drinking tea, have switched laundry. Dd18 did hers and took my towels out - but fortunately, they were dry. Ds needs to do his this a.m. Hoping the next round of towels will be dry as well.
I seem to have misplaced the sugar bowl in my rush this a.m. I definitely put some in my tea - but the sugar bowl is nowhere to be found. Dd15 will be wanting it for her tea.
Girls have late start today as Jrs. finish testing.
Off to finish spiffing and head out to the church to set up for moms group. This is not a MOPS group, by the way; I've had people assume it was. Very different beast.

Re: Thursday again!
I'm another one out of bed early. Will feel it later today but didn't sleep well at all.
Sent email to dd about her renting a house rather than apartment. It will cost less than an apartment plus a storage locker and allow us to pass on some outdoor things (like the deck furniture.)
I'll be taking our deck box for the balcony to store the cushions for the chairs we'll put out there. Not sure about the wisdom of bringing much, I don't intend to step onto the balcony much less sit out there but it will look more welcoming with furniture. Apparently the winds are something fierce so a number of people have put up screens. They cost about $2500 so I'll think about that. They do make the balcony into another room for 9 months of the year but conversely they'll reduce the effect of the view out those windows. Whatever furniture I decide to use out there has to be weighted down in order to not blow off. We discovered the open railing isn't really open - there's glass to stop things from going through, so the physical protection is action to waist height. That's good to know but harder to tie things down since we can't feed bungee cords through the railing.
I've also downloaded the latest version of Quicken since mine will no longer be supported and there was a deal with the tax software so I got the tax software for free. There's one item off my shopping list (literally - I put it on my list over the weekend.)
Printed off two different moving check-lists. I have 3 months until the move so need to start taking action.
My other tada is cleaning the kettle. I've also had my breakfast.
I just noticed it is only 8:20 so I'm not really far behind, even though I've been up 3 hours.

Re: Thursday again!
Morning y'all...
I'm finishing up my first cup of coffee, then it's the usual morning stuff
It got too hot yesterday afternoon so I only planted one garden. My poor seedlings were struggling with the heat. I did spread 20 sq ft of dirt though and I have a few more to go. I have a dental appointment later this morning ... Ugh..so once I finish my breakfast I will finish up outside before I leave for my appointment.
Hoping y'all are beginning to get better weather... I "almost" felt guilty yesterday as I worked outside in shorts and t-shirt planting my spring flowers
Enjoy the day and I will cy'all later...

Re: Thursday again!
Have a good trip, Lilac. Think I'll just depend on my k indle this weekend as well, instead of carting my laptop to Jacksonville. Dh called last night and talked to DDIL -seems she and TJ (dgs9) had flown to Jacksonville yesterday. DS-R & another guy/son were driving DS's Volvo down with the race trailer. (DGS is racing a national WKA event -first one for this year.) Since DS in really unable to do much dgs is racing just one class (better for me.
) We have decided to have dh run dd to school tomorrow & pick her up at school and leave from there. Were going to go up and just spend Sat. night, but decided we'd have to leave way too early Sat. morning -like 5am. DDIL had planned to go to the beach today with dgs -probably not with FL's forecast weather. Going to be cooler up there so need to rethink our wardrobes. Figure we'll save well over an hour by picking up dd after work and should be to Jville by 7:30 or so.
On my way to clean the kitchen & do dishes. Also have a LOL to put in the dryer cycle. Off I go.

Re: Thursday again!
Okay, it is 10:15. As good a time as any to reboot my day and go s2s!
(I have downloaded and installed two financial software programs and uninstalled a nasty free drawing program I installed when looking for floorplan software.)
CM called and I'll have 2/3 of the boys tomorrow. Emergency meeting with lawyers regarding their finance mess. The middle boy is off to eye doctor with an aunt. The eldest will be put to use in my storage room (free slave labour) and the younger is sick so will be set up on the recliner with a blanket, drink (with straw) and a movie. With any luck his fever will break before 10 a.m. tomorrow. Measles are going around so I may not have that luck.
It has been so cold this winter that the kids are getting inside recess and the germs that normally can't be shared outside are being shared inside instead, plus the kids don't get the fresh air to build their immune systems. Overall, the whole village, from younguns to ancients, is sick. Our lawn person (who also does snow plowing but not ours) ended up in the hospital when a cold turned worse.

Re: Thursday again!
No doubt about it, Kathryn, this has been one harsh winter in one way or another and not just north unfortunately.
Finished cleaning the kitchen & dishes are done (& last night's clean ones put away). Dryer twin is twirling. Then I need to pack for our weekender. Need to get the small suitcase out of the garage. Have other things to go out there but it's tough for me to maneuver the steps going down into the garage -think part of it is the storm door that needs to be held open & the steps aren't even depths. Whoever built this house, that seems to be a recurring happenchance. The steps leading to the front porch are extremely different. First step is maybe 8" wide but only perhaps 3 or 4" high, 2nd one is 18" deep and another 3 or 4" and then the step up to the porch is probably 10". Then there's a step down from the laundry room and another from their bedroom. I'm sure some had to do with the 'lay of the land'. There is a sidewalk from the back screened porch to the back 'barn' with 3 steps down as you go. When dd had her hip replaced a number of years ago, the PT had her going off the side of the porch and around so she wouldn't have those odd steps to deal with. Dh wants to put a railing up for me by the front steps as they're a bit difficult for me to maneuver going down. Have to go sideways to hopefully keep my balance.
Must be about time to fold the LOL. Then to packing. Small though it may be.
