Saturday ... the adventure continues

I woke up early, called DD about Megan, her niece, and DD's was on her way to see a retired psychologist dfriend up on the peninsula. DD asked if she could swing down here, to stay overnight, as she may be too tired to make the drive home. We said it was fine to stay.

Then, I:
1- Stripped the dining room table, washed it, dewrinkled a tablecloth, put in on with freshly washed placemats.
2- I tidied the eating bar.
3- I re-arranged, put away papers into bins, for crafting, got bins put away, in the "Bunny Room", tidies it up, and put out hot spots.
4- I wrote a letter.
5- I s2s, forgot QT, will do it later though.
6- I put totes, pattern files and yarns out of the dining room.
7- I put away a basket of books, a tote of papers, magazines, and "for writers" stuff, which were around my great room end table floor.
8- DH is running the DW.
9- I redecorated the main/guest bathroom with a green bunny and there are other green things in there. Cute.
To Do:
10- Will try to do laundry, after the DW is over.
11- Will work on letters.
12- Will work on stories by hand.
13- Will read and MT the DW before DD comes.

That's about it for us from here. Everything looks nice and company ready, too.

Spent the day sitting at a table at a bazaar, advertising the library's LEGO Club. If the number of people sitting at the vendor tables did not actually outnumber the customers that came in during the 5 hours, it was close. Sitting there alone was pretty boring, even with a stack of LEGO comic books to read.

I did pass out little flyers with the club schedule to some people, though, who sounded very interested in bringing grandchildren. Also, there was a woman who asked if she could bring some old LEGO sets to the library to donate to the club. (YES!) If she actually does it, that will have been worth my time volunteering today.

I got home about 3:30 and DH was hungry, so we went out for pizza.

I've been up since 5 and it's too late to take a nap now. I'm not planning to do anything tonight but watch tv, and then go to bed early.

I'm even tempted to go put on my PJs now so I can be really comfy.

[x] called dmom -- made plans for supper tomorrow night and wonder of wonders, she was s2s and planning to go to church tomorrow morning! Hooray!

You know, dmom said this bladder infection is just such a drag on her, physically, that it really adds to the depression. I think Harriet asked about the frequency -- it seems to recur about every 6-8 weeks. But she will soon start the Azo for the first time and * maybe * maybe * maybe * we will see some improvement. She said while she has it, and until she completes the round of antibiotics, she feels just about like she has the flu. I know it has to be hard to get yourself out of bed and make yourself be productive when you feel like that, plus your back hurts, your stomach is upset, you're alone in the house, and no one (except an annoying bil) is making any demands on you.

Anyway, she sounded pretty good today.

I've got to get busy w/the vacuuming while dh is out of the house. Strike while the iron * make that the vacuum-- is hot.

Booksaver: With ds not coming home, there was an exchange on his FB page about me not touching the lego but not knowing what other toys to hang on to, plus where was I going to store it all? My sister suggested I wasn't be ingenious and it was simply a matter of building a storage unit out of lego to store the other things!

I'm not making progress here. Just wasting the day away. Dinner is done but I still have to wash up the dishes (although I object to that since I had to cook my own dinner while dh had takeaway, so it seems to me that he should wash up.)

I did get the music finished for the sermon. Should practice that now so I get timing cues correct. I also have to pack. And fold the last load of laundry. And, and, and,

I opted for pizza -ordered online, dh & I ran to pick it up. Just knew there was nothing easy to make for dinner. Tasting pretty good.

A Lego storage unit! Great idea!!!

Vacuuming of "living" area of house done. Now to do the master bedroom.
Of course, "living" area does not count the study or two extra bedrooms/bath. * sigh *
As Peg Bracken, I believe, suggested once, since I do not start at opposite ends of the house each time, some day we will just have to saw off the "non-living" areas of the house.
I am also ignoring the fact that since dgs became mobile, one bedroom IS very much "living area" now. * sigh *

And btw, if you have never read Peg Bracken, I suggest you get yourself to amazon ASAP and look her up. Start with the I Hate to Housekeep Book... but don't stop there. I love everything she ever wrote! I fit her definition of the "spotful" housekeeper to a T.

I have a load of clothes in the washer... on to the master bedroom carpet.

I wish my life was a sitcom. If so, the cameras would have followed me around all yesterday with the chicken craziness. Everyone would have laughed at me talking to a chicken, petting it, worrying about whether it needed a night light, and getting meds down it. The chicken would be well by now, sitting on something outrageously cushy, while the credits roll. Instead, she didn't make it. DFriend did tell me that petting and talking to her did help, since it is more of a pet chicken. Also, she had called to ask me to turn on the night light. I didn't receive the message until today, but I had turned it on. At least the metoclopramide probably made her sleep through things. (Goodness knows it made me sleep!)

The cat clinic went well today: one person wants to foster the cat that is not getting along with my queen + one adoption. There were only 3 of us at knit/crochet, but that included one of my favorites and another that I knew reasonably well. I am afraid we bored the latter, the first and I ended up talking about computer programming for a while.

I have quite a lot to do: complete the buttons for the charity event, Bible study, 2 resumes and email check, balance checkbook, DPC, LOL, finish charity shawl. The latter needs to be done by 7 pm tomorrow so I can show it at the charity event tomorrow, but it will actually go on sale in April.

I am in an out of sort funk because of that chicken. I am not a fan of chickens in general, but I was a fan of that one (odd because prior to yesterday, I wouldn't have known her from the others).

DD stayed for dinner, then went home to sleep in her own bed tonight, so she'd sleep better. She was tired, said she might take a nap when she got home, too. She was wearing a long skinny thin-material scarf, knotted at the ends, turned into an infinity scarf. I have 3 sheer long skinny scarves, so knotted them, to model for DD and DH. They said they looked real good on me. Now I have additional ideas for my wardrobe.

I didn't do laundry, but I'll sort it for tomorrow. The weather is very gusty, tomorrow's supposed to be very stormy with T-storms, too. I'd like to get laundry caught up before a storm, but just don't feel like doing any this evening, after all the decluttering and tidying up I did for DD's visit.

We had a good visit, laughed a lot, talked a lot, and I gave her a top to try on when she gets home. She said if it didn't fit, she'd pass it onto someone it would fit.

Elizabeth, It's admirable how you foster cats.

Lucylee, You got done, what was on my list- which I didn't do! Sheets; DH vacuuming! I know AZO works for me! I hope it will your Dmom, too!

I didn't work on stories by hand, but plan to, tomorrow, during the storm. Then, I plan to log the rest on them on Monday - Wednesday. I want to get snail mail done, read on magazines and books, before I get way-way-WAY behind!

Practiced my timing and have printed off the sermon and put it in my preaching bag.

Have paid bills and cleaned up the kitchen. Returned the car from 'cargo carrier' mode back to family car.

Did not pack yet. Will do that now and then head to bed.

(((Elizabeth))) I know how you feel about the chicken. It was entrusted to you and despite your efforts, it didn't make it.

Elizabeth we talk to our chickens it calms them down. Singing does too and so do radios.

We got the oil changed in the truck today. Got the knitting books I wanted and h. Found a sink to use for the outside kitchen bvq area project we have been wanting to get going store run done. Put the chicks in a better cage.
