Wild and Crazy Wednesday

Well, it is already Wednesday... 2:00 a.m. here in the Heart of Dixie... and those of us on Elvis Standard Time are having a little trouble getting to sleep.
Going to be an early start to a busy day for us -- must get dmil to hospital for tests by 8:00 a.m.

Lucylee- I hope your morning goes smoothly and DMIL test result in her physical improving.

Big Rocks for today -
** LO care - successful school launch, homework, mentoring, joy
** Exercise - tree planting & mowing
** Meals -

L: Chicken salad wraps
D: Hot Dogs
** Close out March - financial, home décor & closets
** Weekly project focus = 5am to 6am routine cards, Porch/entry (painting if weather allows)

I know this would not interest most but I am sharing because it fits our needs to a "T". As spring/summer lawn activities gear up, I have been thinking how to solve our "problem". LO begs....over and over to help when we are doing things. There is just something in him that drives him to be doing. He doesn't want to be on the sidelines, he wants to join in whatever we are doing Usually we can find a way to include LO when we are doing lawn care but our previous solutions don't work now. We have constant ARGH!!! moments because there is NO way we will allow LO use the power equipment (power mowers/weed eater etc) until he can safely do so. For a few years he has been content to sit on our laps while we drive the equipment, but he has outgrown that. After that phase, he started following us in his battery operated vehicle and that worked well for a couple seasons, but that phase is over now too. Soooo.....that left me with trying to solve how to keep LO safe but still allow him to fulfill his drive to be involved and doing? Our solution - we got a Push Reel Lawn Mower. He LOVES it. It is a full size mower so that makes LO happy. I am happy because it is much safer than power equipment.

Okay, boy does this sound like DGS20months, fits him to a T!! Last picture I received of him is him sitting on the big power mower (pink by the way -sure in honor of DDIL who had breast cancer). He HAS to be in the middle of things. If Daddy's doing it, he wants to help even at this age. I'll have to copy & send that picture of the push mower to DS-A & DDIL. They will get a big kick out of it.

It was a horrible night here of sleeping (NOT!) I was up moving around or changing position or places of rest much more than I was asleep. Decided to get up and slowly move into my day. Have a l&&t done of special 'projects' -small though some may be- for each day of this month. Then it will be on to get our RV spiffed and ready for the summer.

Talked to dh quite a while last night. He was very tired. They'd been trying to find a water line to put in a "T" for the new laundry room/bath house. (Can hardly wait for this -I will no longer have to go all the way around the campground. It will be about 200 steps from our RV. Close enough that I can throw in a LOL and go back to the RV to do something else. May even invest in a small cart to incorporate a little exercise.)

Dh went to the Major League Lacrosse game Saturday night with DS-R, DDIL & DGS9. Took them quite a while to get home. When he started up 'ol Bertha' (our name for his Mom's car) to drive from DS's to camp, the windshield wiper broke. DS told him to take his truck. A 15-20 minute trip took him over an hour. Didn't go to church Sunday morning as there was a foot of heavy, wet snow on the ground. Said he managed once to drive 20mph on the 55mph road. So glad I wasn't dealing with that. Know Kathryn said they had quite a bit too. I see by the long range forecast it's supposed to snow next Tuesday as well. Temps are moderating right now.

I'm up and s2s. Didn't exercise. Have had my tea and chocolate.

Convinced my computer that yes, it does have a wireless radio in it so it should be able to connect to the internet. Thankfully, this has happened before so I didn't completely panic. But how a computer can forget there is a piece of hardware on the motherboard is beyond me.

Can hardly wait for my new computer.

I only have three places to view for dd this morning although I'll make a phone call about a fourth. By the time the office will be open, I won't really have time to get to it, but it is worth a phone call at least. Maybe we can go on Saturday. I'm in the city today, will be at the church office tomorrow, and back in the city with my senior friend on Friday. So I really don't want to go on Saturday and it is too far away to combine with my Friday trip (my senior doesn't have the energy to be away from home too long, in fact, Friday may get cancelled because she hasn't been well.)

I need to print off the check list. I'm only going to print off one copy and then take three different coloured pens. Less paper to handle. The camera is in my purse. Dsil will be home so I can phone if I have any questions for him.

Now to have my breakfast.

DMIL delivered to the hospital; she and dh are there now. I am to relieve dh @ 11:30. Hoping she won't have to stay much longer than that! Hoping all goes well. Hoping * praying * dbil can figure out some sort of caregiver situation...
Dbil and dh do NOT work well together. * sheesh * And now that dsisil is out of the picture, we really have no buffer zone and no one to speak "reason" to dbil when he goes off on a tangent, lecturing us all, lawyer-style. There is NO WAY dh will ever allow dmil to be put in nursing home -- she has long had a horror of that -- and dh will just not stand for it. So. Who knows what the future may hold around here? I just do not believe I can be a caregiver for someone with physical needs like this...
BUT... maybe maybe maybe doctor will get this problem straightened out.

Hoping you find the perfect spot for dd, Kathryn! And I can sooo relate to computer problems. Sooo frustrating!!!

The new lawnmower sounds perfect for LO, OKay! And LO sounds like such a great little man!

Oh -- speaking of little ones -- yesterday I picked up the Easter eggs I had painted @ lcoal jewelry store. They are so cute, and I'm glad I got the ones I did. Especially since one of dgs 's words apparently is "violin," the little bunny with the fiddle is perfect. Of course, he will not repeat "violin" for us or anyone else. I tried & tried Monday night to get him to say it, and he would just grin at me, like he was teasing me. * shaking my head *
He'll probably start speaking in complete sentences soon and announce to dmil: "Nana said she didn't hire on for this!"

And speaking of family... talked to daunt last night -- not duncle's wife, other daunt. Dmom said as far as she knows, this daunt is unaware of any of the problems dmom is having re: duncle, and we all agree that daunt has much higher class worries, so maybe duncle is letting her stay blissfully unaware of his aggravations. We just talked about dgs, and her newest dggdaughter, and people in the community, dmil, etc... but it makes me feel so much better every time I talk to her. She is just an amazing person, to deal with all she has on her plate and keep her energy and attitude so positive. I wish dmom were more like her... AND I wish I were more like her!!!

Today, besides whatever is involved with waiting on dmil, I need to go to the post office, bank, and call to make haircut appointments.

Morning y'all..

I an on my first cup of coffee. One doggie fed, kitchen done, footprints gone. Am working this afternoon plus the rest of the week. Need to water my garden and do my exercises.

Laughing at OKay. I remember that lawn mower. Pushed a full size one many times. Can even remember the sound it makes and the smell of grass as it flew into the catcher. Also have memories of when my father finally got his first gas mower.

Dee, here's a brag here and though Norma and Mr. Guy know Sweeties many talents I'm not sure they know this one. Sweetie invented, he calls it designed, developed and made the instruments used to find underground water line. Many of the equipment made to do those types of things including finding underground electric wires and cables were invented by him as well. It is so amazing to me to cause many of today's equipment still used by the phone and cable equipment are his inventions.

Many times we have had cable or phone guys in our house and Sweeties equipment is hanging on their belt. Sweetie never says a word to these guy as their work away using his equipment. Have even seen movies were a workman comes in the sceen with Sweeties products strapped to their waist.

Gotta go the morning is getting away and I have much to do... Enjoy your day and make time for some fun..

HOORAY!!!!! after many days of not being online - I can finally access the Village.

Not that I have anything to report. Get up, walk dog, do dishes, do laundry, take nap, get supper, watch TV, walk dog, go to bed. SUCH and exciting life.

Today DH goes to Dr. for his ear. It plugged up with wax - we got that out but now it hurts and is draining a bit. So HE suggested we see Dr. I just picked up the phone.

I need to jump in the shower but wanted to see if I could get on. Need to pay some bills before I log off. TTFN

I enjoy seeing your CI even if you don't think you did much. There is joy & comfort received just seeing that life brings all kinds of phases to each of our lives.

I decided to go ahead and paint outside. The news & weather folks have been warning we are in the zone for potential bad weather this afternoon....but when I looked at the radar it didn't show any storms headed our way and the precep probability is only 20% chance. I painted about an hour before my hands got tired. I probably need to invest in some better painting tools.

I just checked and found out "someone" got into the chicken salad wraps. Must of been a late night snack. Sooooo - that means I need to come up with something else for lunch. Probably just put together a quick soup-n-sandwich. I'll see what strikes my fancy when I walk into the kitchen in about 15 minutes.

Update on LO losing his first baby tooth. Ivy - I did try your apple idea. I thought it was a good one. DH and I was astonished that it didn't work. I finally told LO before bedtime that he had to choose who was going to pull that tooth out - me, DH, dentist, or a couple of friends. I didn't care WHO, but that tooth was coming out before he accidently swallowed it. ANYway, LO choose me. I put a dry wash rag over the tooth and gave it a quick tug with my fingers. LO said "That didn't work!" I laughed and opened up the wash rag and showed LO his tooth in it. He was very happy and amazed it didn't hurt. Another phase of LO life has passed....
