Wahoo, Kathryn -a plus for today!
I'm so glad to come here for assurances that others are having the same problem.
Count me in as well. Seems no matter how hard I try, I seem to be bouncing between the same 3#! Can't lose beyond that for the life of me. Keep trying to figure a new way -any way, short of taking all those touted weight pills! :?

Kudos for all that you're getting rid of and/or packed and/or ready to pack, Kathryn. I'm doing pretty much the same on a much smaller scale. But, I'm thinking I won't have much to pack at the end of the month. I've been shredding away this morning and figure I'll have that all done this week. Was going to take this immense pile of paper home to burn, but figure if I can do this, it will be much less to load in the car -and I job I won't have to do when I reach home. I've accomplished so much in the last week or so that even I am impressed.

Tomorrow will be a 'lost' day as I have women's group at church at 9:30. This month there's to be a 'style' show and a salad luncheon. Imagine there'll be plenty of varying types of salads. I'm thinking of looking to see if I can find my recipe for a salad dessert.

Seriously considering skipping choir in order to not miss my computer coming. So dh and I went through the anthem for Sunday (I've got it nailed now) and I practiced Easter (haven't done that one yet so had to sight read it myself.) Found one that might be good for Maundy Thursday and we've done it before.

Plants are watered, clocks are wound. Need to change out kitchen linens while my lunch cooks.

My dsil is home from the hospital less than 12 hours after being taken out of ICU isolation. And her FB post give thanks to everyone but my sister and says, "Back to training."

Wow, Kathryn, that all must be so hard for your DSis.

I'm struggling also, some of the weight I thought was off showed back up; however, it's probably water as I had a lot of salty things yesterday.

Today I've been working on paper projects around here that are piled up everywhere. 2 in the dining room are done and all put away. 1 on the new 2-shelf bookcase I put opposite my desk in the living room is done and a bunch of shredding done. One in the family room gathered up and put away. I've been picking up/putting away all morning. It already looks a lot better in here.

The place we went for dinner Sat. eve. was a couple who just moved into a rental duplex. It's a modestly-sized duplex with just 2 bedrooms. They've been in there a month and already had photos on the walls, all their stuff organized and put away except for one bin I could see of picture frames, etc. No excesses anywhere or junk, nothing piled up, etc. It was very motivating. I told her I needed to go home and clean everything out here! Now I don't feel so bad.

Well, me, too... on the weight problems. I walked 2 days last week, skipped 2, and then walked (3 miles) on Saturday. Sunday morning my weight was up 2 more pounds. * sheesh * Told dh I was glad I didn't walk 10 miles. I am seriously considering trying the g arcinia c ambodia pills. But then I think, it would probably just be a waste of money... there is no magic pill, is there? Thinking about ordering the 10 minute fitness dvd program I saw on an infomercial last night. DH says, "You're very gullible, aren't you?"

And our Monday started depressingly, as well, w/phone call from dmil's caregiver -- dmil in the floor -- caregiver could not get her up on her own.
DH went over there. It seems dmil had gotten up and gone to the door for cable man (unexpected visit, btw) and started back to bed. Somehow, she slipped getting back into bed and couldn't get up. No harm done, not much of a fall, and it was on carpeted floor... but still... sooo worrisome, especially for dh... Still, they determined that she could wait until the scheduled appointment tomorrow to see doctor. DH is frustrated b/c she won't drink the G atorade doctor advised, and is generally stubborn about other things as well. Glad dbil is the one taking her to the doctor tomorrow.

With all that excitement, I went ahead and s2s, so as to be prepared for whatever the rest of the day might bring, and washed dishes that had been left in the sink... but dh is home now, trying to sleep some more, and I'm trying to be quiet.

Harriet -- thank you for the info on Arthur Smith. I passed that on to ds. Found a internet link from the Charlotte Observer that gave a pretty lengthy story.

Waving to all! Hope you all find some unexpected joy in this dreary, rainy day!
Tomorrow is another day.

Twins' Mom! So I had to go look up Julio-Alexi Genao, whose brief bio explains that he "Worked at Ministry of Ill-Fitting Pants". lol. You know I hardly read fiction anyway, so reading a 3-line fiction writer's bio was quite a stretch.

I constantly notice good writing here. A quick example just up the page would be Kathryn's first post today, with that first paragraph musing about math.

Remembering this morning that my kindly hormone dr is brilliant.

He simply decided not to have me weigh, and bypass the whole stress/excuse of it. Brilliant. He talked to me in a very relaxed way instead. He says the sun is "literally" coming out to have more hours in the sky, and things will change. He says he wants me to pay attention to my B-12, even if some test (which he does not intend to give me anyway) might have shown my level is not low. He wants to hit me with a high sublingual dosage at first and see if I don't report to him that the energy level increases. He says doctors don't know why it helps with energy, even if blood levels wouldn't suggest it, but enough people report that it helps that it isn't important to explain, just be pleased. He thinks I shouldn't worry about my adrenal glands until he tells me to, but assume that stress has been a player in needing rest. And as my stress releases a little and the sun brightens, if I start noticing I didn't nap much for a few days, then increase exercise, but don't push hard yet.

He went to the school of common sense, I think.

ellyphant! How excellent to come in and see a post from you. YES of course, for 30 years it was still in the oven, right? but our dear regional paper put, "still in the stove", which isn't even lyrical. :( Possibly that was a joke? If so, more of an inside one than I could catch. But the rest of the article was quite good. HRH says Tommy said the line, "Pie are round, Bost bread are square", while dressed as Cousin Fudd (and he's impressed you remember it), but I am sure it was written by Ralph. I remember Skeeter (Wayne Hass), yes, and the other act you mentioned sounds so familiar.

Carolina Calling was the start of my day for most of my childhood. Arthur Smith was the first celebrity I ever heard be sure to end his programs by suggesting we all go "to the House of Worship of your choice". If not for him, I would have assumed the whole world was Presbyterian, so he put that concept of respect and inclusiveness into my young mind.

Lucylee duct tape. You need to order duct tape. It comes in pretty colours now and if you put it over your mouth you can't eat. While calories in vs out aren't the whole equation, in my experience we intake too many calories (even when being 'good') and that's the issue.

I'm the poster child for diet is the only way to lose weight. I did Curves for a month and weight, inches and body fat were all up. I then started WW while continuing Curves and got great results. By the end, I could eat a ton of food and had to in order to stop the weight loss. I was the smallest size I'd been since dd was 2. Then my back went out and I was disabled and couldn't work out any more (my physio therapist suspected the back was caused by Curves.) And life has been a downward spiral (actually an upward spiral!) since then. But I've never forgot how exercise alone didn't do a thing, in fact was negative results. But at the end, the exercise had kicked my metabolism up and so I could eat a normal amount and still maintain my weight.

Following Harriet's suggestion, in response to my dsil's "Back to training" comment, I posted "How about "back to healed wounds, and healthy blood pressure" before back to training? The last thing the groups needs is for you to faint on a highway during the ride due to low blood pressure." So far I have 5 likes, including dsil's mom.

Harriet, what a smart doc to realize that stress has been such an issue for you, and to not press changes upon you. I didn't even google the author of the quote because I was so taken with it.

Long stressful morning into afternoon at temple. Busy month - fundraiser, annual meeting, passover and a bat mitzvah, all making more work for temple secretary. Met with incoming president also and made changes to Annual meeting program which will be printed today. I am to help tomorrow with assembly for mailing.

Need to head out in a minute with Macs. I hope he is okay with PT today - I think he's a little woozy from the meds this morning in case we had a T-storm. It's very hard to predict when he will need meds and they're supposed to be taken at least two hours before a storm.

I'll figure out whether to watch the webinar later. Was glad to hear that incoming president has been reading up on the subject as well.

Just talked to my sister. She is frustrated and bitter. No kidding.

Apparently, it was a 4:30 a.m. ride yesterday morning to the hospital with lights and siren. No time for them to bring the gurney up to the bedroom, the paramedics picked her up and carried down to it and rushed out the door.

Then the ER, ICU isolation, then ICU and discharge this morning despite the fever only being down for 16 hours. So what does my dsil do after being discharged? Take her own sister (who spent yesterday getting her own life in order so she could drive the 6 hours away visit and help my sister) to the boxing gym to show her around. She'll be back in the classroom tomorrow despite the nurses telling her to take time off until after the follow-up appointment on Wednesday.

My new computer arrived. Just 20 minutes after dh headed off for the border run. Sigh...

Booked the phone installation at the apartment and arranged the new insurance policy. So some progress made on that front. Still no word about the mattresses and sofa leaving the house. I should go downstairs and sort linens now. But first I'll plug in my laptop to charge.

Edited to add: I completely forgot I had ordered a red computer! It is so pretty!

And just what is this sublingual B-12, Harriet?

Went to dsisil's for a while. We all sat on the porch for a while, but I became quite lightheaded (smoke :? ) and decided to leave. Had to stop for ingredients for my dish for 'salad' luncheon tomorrow.

Happened to read yesterday that a 'free' food is anything having 20 calories or less & less than 5g of carbs. So I searched for a 'snack' since I wasfeeling hungry. Ended up with a jar of pickled small whole beets. 4 balls fit the bill & since I was limiting myself -it fit the bill. :)

Back home. Car has been unloaded. Tori dog has already thoroughly annoyed me twice w/ her bad habits when she wants to come inside. Dd18 has also annoyed me w/ her mo of time with friends taking priority over family time - and then she kind of throws it back, as if we're the ones not available for her. Not! --Sorry for the little rant. . . . Now, i have a cup of tea and my Hebrew out to work on. Class is at 5:15 instead of 5:05 today. Hoping my mood improves as the day goes on.

There was no significant rain on my drive home, only about 10 minutes of sprinkles - and that was it! It has been a very gray day, though.

I've been told that all fresh vegetables are free. . . At least that is what my WW leader says.
