LOVE that, helia."Well, are you in the business of growing a healthy lawn or are you in the business of growing healthy boys?"
Dmom is CONSTANTLY lamenting the problem of moles in the yard. Hmmm... and ddil is anxious to begin potty training of a certain little boy... soooo... hmmm...
Speaking of the rain, that reminds me of another story Texas relatives tell. Seems it had been a long, long dry spell and when it finally started to rain, the children were all rushing into the yard, screaming and shouting. The father says, "Well, it's not THAT big a deal for us older folks, but these children have never seen rain."
I think we're going to get a good dose of it Thursday... just when our local festival starts up around here.
Thinking of Mr. Dee AND Dee... and dd/dgd. Thanks for getting me up to speed on the weekend. Good gracious, I can't imagine what dd is going through worrying about those three in-between weeks.
Hope the BookSaver bunch feels much better soon!
AND hoping Sadie's ds feels better soon!
Coconut oil. I bet I would LOVE it. OTOH, dh would HATE it. He cannot stand the taste OR smell of coconut. Strange.
Septic tanks. I don't think we've ever done anything to ours in the 28 years we've lived here. Now that I've said that, it'll probably start failing on us tomorrow.
Smiling at thoughts of Ivy's little granddaughter's curls. And sending (((hugs))) for the sensitive skin that may accompany them. I speak from experience. My hair is dark brownish/auburn -- or at least it was before the gray started taking over! Dcousin's new baby has dark hair, but it appears red in photos. We are thinking it may be like mine, and another boy cousin's, and maybe the flash photo is enough light to bring out the highlights. Dcousin herself and her older daughter have VERY red hair, but the father has black hair.
(((Macs)))
Typical Tuesday... well, yes... went to nursing home w/ds & dh, and dgs... which is always tiring for me, but those older ladies (it's an all female group, usually) do love to see dgs. And as I've told y'all, I have a great-aunt who lives there and so it's good for me to keep in touch with her, which I never would without ds being part of their entertainment calendar.
We came home and I took a nap, b/c dmom had awakened me earlier this morning.

Dmom... smh... this is probably skippable...
Dmom called this morning, b/c she thought I had called her yesterday and she was just seeing it on caller ID. It was not from yesterday but from Sunday, and we had seen each other since then.
She said her hair appt was changed to 4:30 @ the beautician's request. Sounded fine.
I called her back this evening around 6:15 to tell her ds would be playing w/gospel group on local cable show @ 6:30.
I said, "So you made it back... (from haircut town)"
She said, "I didn't go."
I said, "You didn't go???" (But I think it sounded like 'YOU DIDN'T GO???") because
She said, "No... what's wrong with that?"
I said, " Nothing, nothing, I'm not fussing at you... I just thought you were all excited about getting you hair done finally."
She said, "Well, I was, but I just didn't make it. It's been a tough day... I just have to try to make baby steps and make a little bit of progress each day..."
I said I knew that but I thought the haircut would be her progress for today.
She said she did too, but it didn't work out that way. Then she sounded like she was about to cry and I felt bad and
I said, "Well I'm not fussing at you, that's okay, are you sure you're okay, do you need me to do anything?"
She said no, she was fine, etc etc... so I let it go...
And I feel bad --
b/c y'all remember, she asked me if I wanted to go with her and take her phone to the V erizon place and all that today and I told her no -- I had already made it clear to her that I was ONLY available Mon. & Wed. of this week, and today was just too complicated for me to add that trip in. And on Saturday she said that was okay... and then she backed out on the whole trip today... * sigh *
She really, really sounded good Saturday, and then Sunday --- * poof * --- she doesn't get out of her pajamas all day long.
I've already talked to dbro about it and he says not to worry about it. Just check on her tomorrow and not even mention today.
