Oh, proud cyber-auntie here!

( some of those vocabulary worksheets were murder! :D )

Well, outdoor chores are getting harder - it is hot out there!

Started ice chunks in the chicken waterer today.

Lots of weeding the last few days. It's amazing how fast it's needed.

Ds offered to mow for us a week or two ago and we didn't need him because we'd just mowed. I wish he would offer again!

Working Wednesday

Post by Ivy »

:D CONGRATULATIONS TO LO!!!!

Ta Dah isn't much this a.m. :(

- s2s, moisturizer, put on eyebrows, earrings in, fixed hair
- made the bed, put dirty laundry into utility room basket
- ate breakfast, had pills & supplements
- wrote DH a grocery list for tomorrow, when he gets my prescriptions
- had quiet time, wrote in journal, etc...
- watched a.m. news

I think it's Friday today, because DH went to Costco yesterday. :?: Is THAT why I think today's Friday? :?: :?:  My allergies are acting up, so am using Benadryl, am cutting out coffee, so drank Constant Comment tea instead this morning.

Kathryn, Your lunch sounds yummy! :D

Twins', Good luck on the financial issues. :!:

Cowinkie, I keep reading and hearing things about migraines. The one tip was to go outdoors more in the spring & summer, 1 tip was to have a snack before bedtime, & 1 tip was to not drink coffee or Diet pop with caffeine in it. Heart caffeine brings on migraines.

Helia, Good luck at the dentist's office today. Do you go in for a cleaning only or is it for dental work

Dee, I keep cards, too. I seem to hide them in my bureau drawer bottoms, in a tin in the walk-in closet, etc.... I heard you can make placemats with them with clear Contact paper or put them into scrap books. Also, some people recycle the covers & re-send a re-made card to others. Some cards are pretty in a colored frame, too. If you have a bare wall spot, if you have an endearing favorite card, just stick it up there, to make you smile. :)

Booksaver, How many are in the LEGO club? :?:

Well, I guess I'll read obits now. I need to start 1 lol, I think, check to see if DH emptied the DW or not. I thought I heard him do it. I'm going to try to do a story & itemized list for a crochet afghan project, by breaking it down into simple short steps, to spurn me onto completion! :!: :!: :P

Have a great day! :D

Thanks Ivy... Most of mine are cluster headaches which are not brought on by the triggers of normal migraines. Clusters are in a category all of their own. They come in waves .. Increasing in intensity several times during the day and repeats sometimes for days at a time. This cycle of many headaches usually happens during the spring and fall. The reason for this is it known and is NOT tied to allergies, though hystimines are involved.

It is believed that the natural chemical found in your body that regulates your hystimines doesn't respond correctly. Cluster headaches are also known as "suicide" headaches because the pain is so sever and continues for such long periods of time people would rather die than go through a cycle. Most meds used to prevent migraines or to treat them don't have much effect on clusters.

I never know when a cycle will hit. Last year the first week of June was a nightmare for me... My cycle lasted 5 days. I am convinced these last two were regular migraines triggered by mold. My school has a sever mold problem. Six years ago I did a private screening of mold in my classroom and took the results to the school. All the district did was treat the area with household bleach.

Two weeks ago I subbed in a classroom directly below my old room. Result: I came home with a killer migraine just like when I was teaching there. This Monday I subbed in a classroom that had a terrible problem with mold while I was working there. The teacher was plagued with migraines and discovered her back wall was covered with mold. The districts response was to treat it with bleach. Again I came home with an excruciating headache.

The result of these headaches is I have decided to no longer sub at my old school. I have several schools that are much closer to me where I can sub. Sweetie is really relieved about my decision. Most of my teacher friends have either retired or moved from my old school so I don't have any ties there. Not afraid to move on to a new school because I know I have agreat reputation working with kids and that will follow me where ever I go.. That wasn't meant to sound like a brag... I just am confident I can make a difference with kids no matter where I go...

I have changed the vacuum bag and living room is vacuumed. Laundry needs changed over.

I have baked up 3 coffee cakes one blueberry, one rasberry, one apple-oat to freeze for the weekend. We will be home working on getting more progress on the out door kitchen.

So happy for Lo!

I'm on my way too, nancy. :D

Congratulations to LO and you too, OK!! Amazing how fast these kids grow up. I hope you all have a rejuvenating summer.

The dental appt. is just my 6 month check up, Ivy. I think they're watching a couple old fillings that they think will need to be replaced eventually, but I am just getting my teeth cleaned and inspected today. I think no x rays either - did that last time.

I'm home from the groc. store and in the middle of unloading and putting away. I'd better get back to it. With warmer temps, the food might spoil.

((Cowinkie!))

WTG LO - new 1st grader! A new adventure!

Was working my a.m. routine and stopped for a sandwich. Now nursing a cup of coffee.

Ds#2 and ddil came for lunch on Sunday and brought a hanging basket with a gardenia plant in it. Has at least 20 bud on it. This morning I watered it really good and put it outside in the front garden near the living room window. After it blooms I will decide a permanent spot and plant it. I also filled the bird feeder again. Wonder how long it will take the squirrels to discover the food.

Dh was feeling bored here at home and just left to go to W-M to do some walking. I'm going to get started on my sewing again. I have a few ideas of projects I want to do, but the main thing is to get back to the quilt for dgs12.

Will come back later to cuop....enjoy your afternoon everyone!

Dh and I send our congrats to LO! I'm sure the homework sheets will get easier now that he's in school full-time!

I don't think I've done a thing. Two septic visits but the first was a follow-up from yesterday - he wanted accurate measurements. The second did the same measurements so we are expecting two very exact quotes. The third will come at some point.

I guess filling boxes is my next task. I will say that aside from some decorations, the sitting room is completely done. So that's progress. Not sure if I want to continue on the kitchen or move to the dining room. I'm worried that I'll pack up something I need if I do more in the kitchen (the 'low-hanging fruit' has been done and now I have to make decisions about whether or not I'll use something in the next few weeks, or try and decide how to break up the weight of the cast iron pans (I have 5 plus muffin tins.) Yorkshire puddings and corn bread are easy items to take to shared meals so I'll keep that cast iron out until the last minute (even on June 8 there is a pot luck and I think I'll bring cornbread to that.)

LOL, Kathryn, I'm sure OKay will be looking for those easier homework sheets next year. Yes, Congrats to LO and OKay and entire family.

I'm making progress. Still haven't gotten back to the rest of the last li&t so I'll break and work on that for a bit.
