Re: STELLAR SATURDAY
Back from bank, MPB and park. LO and I walked the track then he climbed, swung, slide, etc at the play ground. While watching LO I met some new people to the area. They just arrived here 2 days ago from London. I found conversation with them fascinating. They have lived the last 7 years in London but grew up in Africa. Moving to small town midwest USA is going to be a big change for them. They said the biggest change they have noticed so far is that people are super friendly here.
Lunch was left over pizza. EAsy and quick.
LO is down for a rest/nap. I keep thinking LO is old enough to stop taking naps, but he looks forward to them and frequently naps 2-4 hours! I don't think 1st grade takes naps at school so before school starts we need to get LO's body used to not having naps.

Re: STELLAR SATURDAY
House is ready to show now. This is like having a party every week (without having to cook!) since the house gets cleaned up each week for these open houses.
My roll-top desk is a mess though so I'll start in on that now that I'm sitting quiet.
Dh has just discovered he can chrome-cast the MLB game of the day (in this case, the Blue Jays) to the tv so is watching the game. He is very happy right now. We don't pay for cable and he doesn't get the games on the stations we get over the air so it is really exciting for him. It costs $25 a month (or $115 for the season) for him to have this all the time. I'm tempted to recommend it to the kids for a Father's Day present.

Re: STELLAR SATURDAY
Nice for Ken, Kathryn. Love it when dh's are happy campers!
Not sure what to do with myself today. Campground is very busy and I've done as much as I want to do today. DD has texted me off and on & just found a note from her on FB.
Dh has to work all day then there's a chicken bar-b-q at 5 and a dessert auction at 6. Said we'd go out some night during the week. Fine with me -one more night I won't have to cook.
Know it will be 'my choice' so I'll probably opt for a place about 15 miles from here that has spaghetti that I love!

Re: STELLAR SATURDAY
It is nice to have a clean house regularly.
Sounds like a lovely day, Dee.
I am not going to get many of my goals done. But, I have done some things:
x I have just finished reclaiming the kitchen for the 2nd time today as the dw was run after brunch.
x I have also taken ds shopping so I think he's set for work clothes for his internship. He even bought a tie - just in case he needs to dress up for a presentation or something.
x I have also made a li&t of all the things I think we need to do before the party.
Now, I kinda wish I hadn't done that. I really need to be good about breaking things down into smaller steps.
x I've also called elderly neighbor who made the annual spring phone call last week about our bushes blocking her sight at the intersection - except this time, the forsythia bush at the corner isn't the issue; it's the bushes behind it?? Dh and I were a little confused about what she is talking about. After a very friendly phone conversation, I'm still a little confused because (1) I'm not sure there are bushes behind the forsythia and (2) if there are bushes there, I'm not sure how they would block the view since they'd be behind the car when it pulls up to the intersection?? Anyhow, we'll be kind and trim whatever we think she's talking about. Maybe this is her annual phone conversation with me. LOL!
Dh called and told me he ordered the california rolls for me today; the place we went to last night doesn't do party platters of them, unfortunately. He was driving by our 2nd choice restaurant for them and went in and ordered 360 rolls, all veggie and/or cooked shrimp. That's probably enough but I would have ordered more. . . Ha! Watch us end up with hundreds leftover. LOL! There will also be 12 lbs. pulled pork and 12 lbs. pulled chicken w/ small rolls - and several finger/snack foods. And 2 half sheet cakes, one vanilla and one chocolate. Adding. . . and veggie trays and hopefully some fruit as well. I can't forget the healthy stuff! LOL!
OK, I'm off to finish the a.m. routine and start some weeding.
Dinner is simple pasta; I'll walk over to WF eventually for the fixings.

Re: STELLAR SATURDAY
Feeling bored & at odds with myself. Think it's just me on a special day & no one around -here anyway. Hopefully the evening will prove a little better. At least dh will be around then, though I know he'll be hopping around busy as a bee at the bar-b-q and dessert auction. Maybe he'll take me out for some ice cream or something after. Not that I need it.

Forgot to tell Dove that that is one gorgeous bird! I listened to the songs and they seemed familiar; I wonder if we have buntings here? I don't remember seeing one - or maybe I do, now that I think of it. We also have some small-ish bright yellow birds. I think they are goldfinches.

Re: STELLAR SATURDAY
Extreme workday here, although I am possibly the least productive worker. All our yard was mowed, then dstepson arrived to pitch in, too. All of chick-itentiery (fenced pen) completely torn down and cleared.
New chick-itentiery up, including a full "roof" of solid fence, and tall this time with people-sized door.
All free since we had everything stored or available.
We have all gone through so much water and ice - glasses back and forth to house, believe me. Dd is the one most sneezy and watery-eyed.
