Tuesday Raindrops

If I were to put an adjective to it, I would use Terrible Tuesday or better yet Torrential Tuesday.

Raindrops keep falling IN MY HOUSE!!!
Sign says no whining but I've earned the right to GROUSE!

Apparently, instead of draining through the nice convenient drain hole, my swamp cooler prefers to drain through the roof and into my sewing room. It's is 5:00 am, swamp cooler water is turned OFF, swamp cooler is drained as best as possible (yes, I just got off the roof), Maalox is about to be taken, and I am just now getting to bed. What an abysmal start to the day.

Had to eat before anything else. Knew before I got up that BS was probably low and it was. So I'm nibbling away at toast with peanut butter & jam this morning. Just felt like PBJ.

Absolutely have to do LOL today. Down to my last undies.

Seems little nice to have it quiet here again. Waiting for the dumpsters to be emptied so I can take our trash down. They are all full & overflowing.

When I walked outside this morning I immediately saw a blooper on my part. I left the fraidy hole door open all night and it rained! I'm too happy that it rained to be upset about having water (less than 1/4") in cellar. I've turned fans on and it should dry up today.

I'm up.

Shut the windows and tidied up the dining room from last, specifically sweeping up the shredder waste. I saved it for 18 months and have 3 bags full but at this rate, I might only use one bag. We'll see what happens with the paintings - almost all other fragile items are packed but I used a lot of it in a plastic bag in the last box of paintings I did. There was room for more paintings but I didn't want the weight so this filler worked well.

Today is an 'outside the house' day.

Got word last night what I should pay out as a bonus and am pleased dh did so well last year. I'm also pleased that the money will come when the septic field bill is due (although I have to come up with a 10K deposit in the next few days, must shift some money for that and remember I'm blessed to have the money to shift.) I think the remainder of the bonus money will go into a savings account with an auto transfer to cover off the rent cheque each month. Our rental company doesn't do anything electronically so I have to write cheques and track them myself. Which reminds me, I owe our lawn care company money for May and June. She didn't send a contract this year since we are moving so I haven't paid her in advance as I usually do.

'twas me that added to the title in honor of Elizabeth's raindrops song and OKay's raindrop discovery!

I might complain about our every-night's rain lately as well, since the grass is heavy with moisture now. That keeps me wearing tough old shoes to do a lot of outdoor chores all through the morning. If I forget and wear others, I regret it! We do have new pullets now and the only thing wrong is that they are quite young/small so they take more work and I'm outside a lot more.

helia, I thought of you often last evening. Ultimately, dd went to bed at 3:00 a.m. Her ddad says this is lack of planning, and that may be part, but honestly just an amazing amount of homework, too. Civics and Economics is the culprit, with teacher requiring a 26-page typed project plus interviews, photos for the honors students. She is a tired puppy today.

We'll probably have rain later today but for now and through lunch, it will be lovely so we might eat outside today and enjoy watching the streetscape.

I've s2s now. So tired I put my body cream on my face so had to wash that off and replace with my skin cream. I'm making lots of little mistakes like that. Looking forward to that break Dee promises in a few months!!!!

We'll head into town now. If we have extra time, we'll wander around the new neighbourhood.

I'm so excited about getting the bikes tuned up and ready to use this year! We are right on the recreation path system and on Sunday's they shut down the parkway in front of our place and open it only to bikes. There are so many options for us, both to bike to shopping and meals but also downtown for our hair cuts. On days where parking is limited downtown (Canada Day or when ds is on a run) we'll be able to bike and not have to think about parking. There is free parking for bikes in any city run lot so we'll even be able to keep them out of the rain if we want.

It is the excitement about our new life that is carrying me through all this stress. At least I have something to look forward to. Moving into a nursing home wouldn't be as positive at all. In fact, any move that is forced (such as dd's) must be far more stressful. Dd is at least looking forward to some thing. I'm buying her a new bike (dsil too) so she has something to look forward to at the new place.

Not getting much of anything done -in fact I just finished a 'doze'. Really tired today for some reason. So guess I'll just 'go with the flow' and I'll get done what I get done. I do need to plan for that LOL this afternoon however. And if I drive my car up I'll be able to snooze as the twins twirl. Will plan that for after lunch.

Have chicken in the fridge from Saturday's bar-b-q that needs to be eaten today, so will do something with that for lunch.

Dh had planted 'ever blooming' lilacs and we just noticed that they're all blossomed out. How pretty! Those were in memory of dZoe (dgd).

Perhaps I'll run the water heater and do up the few dishes I have and get my hair shampooed. That will, at least, be on the "done" column.

Oh yi! I've been forgetting to make reservations for Sight 'n Sound theater's production of Moses in Lancaster, PA. I just looked and any dates around when dh and I wanted to go are all booked already. I should know better. Will ask him of the remaining dates that we "could" go which ones he wants me to try. Last year we sat way high in the balcony and it was very difficult for me getting there. Will need to call and ask for better seating when I can't climb. Wish me luck with this one.

Your ((dd15)) was in good company, then Harriet. Ddnewly 16 here was up until 2:30 a.m. and will have another late night tonight getting a project done for tomorrow. I don't actually know the details of it, but it is for her history class and requires primary sources, which she was finding somewhat difficult to find, and will be presented orally to the class with slides. I was a little disgruntled with dd15, actually b/c she had her bff from church over from Sunday afternoon until almost 6 pm on Monday. I'm not sure she should have done that with this project looming. And I didn't really know much about the project myself, certainly not when it was due or how much work she still had left. I don't track my kids' assignments much anymore. 26 pages sounds very long for a high school project! Is it all writing? Some diagrams/drawings?

I haven't done much today beyond exercise:

Now, I'm ready for the a.m. routine. The rest of today will be spent getting ready to leave with ds tomorrow. Later, I'm picking up dd16 from school at 3:30. Then, she has her oboe lesson at 4:30. then, I'm off to the moms group dinner out tonight in neighboring village at 6 pm. I'll be late b/c of dd16's lesson.
