Twins' Mom, When you do your round robin, do you call each individual room or rooms-grouping a round? Or is the complete listing of all the rooms in your home = 1 round?

I'm calling my 6-groupings of rooms in my home, plus walk-in pantry/walk-in closet, rooms/areas. I ended up doing six of them for ten minutes each today to = 1 hour. I didn't do my timed walking, but I did 2 lol along with heavy lifting, etc....

So, I've done, 1 round, of all 6-groupings today, for ten minutes each. The other day, I did them 15-minutes each to = 90 minutes, plus walked 48 minutes & then 8 more minutes. It wore me out that day, along with the laundry.

Harmony, YEAH on your DH's biopsy, too! :!: :P

America's full of awesome writers, but it'd be lovely to get my essay accepted. If they don't accept it, perhaps they'll use it at a later time, to fill up some space in their magazine. Good Housekeeping Magazine.

Was the snake poisonous, Lucylee? :?: I love snakes, but ours here, are NOT poisonous.

I replied to a very long email, from someone I'd not heard from since May or June, but it got "stuck" in my Outbox because her server said there was an "error" with my server. I sent it to the delete folder, then to my inbox, resent it to one of MY other email addresses, so it went out! THEN, when it got there, I forwarded my reply to her, so she gets it.

For me a round is 15 min. Of misc. Stuff that needs done.

I stalled out on chores out side and T storm overhead has me indoors at the dinner hr.

I did get the coop and run cleaned. Thinking of pots that will be portable for my latest purchases.

Ivy, I don't usually work room to room as a round robin. Today I've been setting the timer for 25 minutes of work, then resting for 5 minutes, and going again. Except when I worked straight through the 5 minute break because I didn't hear it, and the timer started another 25 minutes so I worked to the end of that. Here's the definition/explanation of the technique: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pomodoro_Technique I usually don't name the tasks I'm doing, just work on what needs it most....which sometimes encourages going AWOL of something else. I'm using an app on my cell phone that ticks like a timer so it usually keeps me moving.

Walked dogs, hung delicates and started a load of dark delicates (swim suits.) Also put away clean laundry and cleaned up kitchen.

-straighten MBR, get piles of laundry back into closet
-take out kitchen trash to trash can already out at the street
-start li&t for tomorrow so I have more direction
-take meds/vitamins
-move my car into the garage

I'll call it quits after this five....

Solutions is specific to Canada. Very interesting to look through their online site, though, and think how we might use existing storage or storage we've seen in other stores.

Thanks for the link, Twins' Mom. I knew you used pomodoro and that your minutes were likely to be longer than 15 for that, but I learned more from the explanation.

... ... a low-tech approach, using a mechanical timer, paper and pencil. The physical act of winding up the timer confirms the user's determination to start the task... ...

I used to appreciate the talking timer for audible re-confirmation that I was in the middle of a task. I have invented something else in my mind ... ... a tiny clip-on timer as lightweight as a small bulldog clip that will tick as loud as you like and ride around on clothing without weight or bulk. That way I wouldn't feel like I needed to stay near a timer or keep carrying it if I walked elsewhere.

Gee, these inventions need to make it past the drawing board.

HRH and I had a long state-of-the-household chat tonight. I suppose end of school year precipitates that. Part of it was realizing what we've done wrong this school year, part was counting our blessings.

Yes, we slept. Dh for almost 2 hours, me for almost 90 minutes. We were late getting dinner heated up and thus I'm finishing my dinner down because we had to run off for choir.

After choir, we were chatting outside and CM spotted a fox in the graveyard so we watched that for a while.

I'm home, have loaded most of the dishes into the dishwasher and having salad and tea now. I phoned my senior friend to make sure she's ok. She's sad we are moving.

Twins' Mom , Thank you for the link explaining Pomodoro. Does this mean that you do whatever tasks you want to in whatever rooms you go in, during a 25-minute Pomodoro session? If it does, it would simplify my round robin somewhat. I could, for instance, run to do something in every room, during a 25-minute session, calling it round 1. Then, what I do another Pomodoro, it'd be round 2. I believe (for me), adding up the Pomodoro's into total rounds at the end of the day, would be motivating for me. Let me know if you can do whatever duties need to be done, during a Pomodoro round. It's very interesting, I find. :)

I rested after dinner, but didn't sleep.

Harriet , It's nice you and HRH had your chat. :) :)

Nancy , It's interesting that your round is 15 minutes of whatever. How long do you take a break in between for? :?: Or do you just automatically go into another round? :?:

Off to bed. After long naps we aren't actually tired but we are really stupid so we think we should be in bed. Probably safer that way. Forgot to start the dishwasher, open the windows, and a half dozen other things.

No point staying up if we aren't effective.

Slept in, had a nap and now when I need to get to bed and sleep, I can't.

Most of the clean laundry that I did yesterday is hung up and put away. All the socks are together and in a new, smaller and square laundry basket. Just need to actually put them away.

Only need to wash 1 lol tomorrow; dark clothes.

Didn't get in a nap today, but rested a bit.

Tomorrow's supposed to be 71* with a.m. clouds & afternoon sunshine. :D

It was nice how the mail came today, after 2 days without any; Friday and Saturday.

I'll be going to bed earlier this evening, I bet.

Have a good evening and good sleep, Everyone. :D
